I went to Wayzata Dental because they use the Solea technology, which is supposed to be great for people with dental anxiety. All of the fillings I’ve gotten over the last year and a half have fallen out. Not to mention, they did an “onlay” with the Solea… I’ve met with two dentists since and the first said the onlay was cracked and the other said they didn’t even see the onlay. When I contacted Wayzata Dental about it they refunded my insurance for the onlay but did not offer further assistance. I also had billing issues my first two appointments where they automatically took out some payment. I would steer clear of here, I’m bummed because Dr. McDowell seemed nice and like he knew what he was doing.

Update 3/9/2023:
Since my experience has been so great, I referred my wife to come here to get her teeth cleaned. Long story short, we experienced some billing mishaps where the dentist said he'd fix a tooth that he made a mistake on for free, but the front office wanted to charge us. We declined.
Fast forward a few months. My wife was eating something, and her tooth chipped. She went to an emergency dentist near us to get it checked out, and they found numerous untreated cavities. They found one so massive that it required a root canal. Shocked, we decided to get a second opinion from a different dentist. While they agreed there were numerous cavities, many of them may go away on their own with a high-fluoride toothpaste, so they prescribed my wife that. The other one is truly bad and needed a root canal.
I have no idea how Wayzata Dental missed the massive cavity. There's no way it grew that large in a matter of 6 months. Unfortunately, I can't trust them anymore and will be switching providers.

I initially went to a dental clinic close to where I live and was told I have a cavity, and another one forming. I scheduled there and was going to go back and get it drilled out. Funny enough, I watched a Cracked "honest ads" commercial on YouTube poking fun at dentists, and in the comments there, they suggested to find a no-drill dentist. A quick Google search is how I stumbled upon this place. I called as soon as I could, got an appointment, and canceled my old one.
The transition process was smooth, and I had my appointment today. I was still a little nervous, because I didn't know what the laser would feel like... but I can report it feels like nothing. Well, they blast air in there too, so it feels a little cool, but that's it. No pain. I was in and out in 10 minutes, and they even got my second forming cavity. Let's be honest - with the amount of sugar I consume, it would've probably turned into a full-blown cavity in a few months.
All-in-all, I highly recommend this place if drills are why you avoid the dentist. They might bust out a drill to smooth out the filling, but in most cases, they'll never touch your tooth.
Scheduled an appointment in 6 months for a cleaning. Will update my review if I have a bad experience, but I don't think I will. The whole team was great.

Very informative visit with my new dentist, I would say. Dr. McDowell went through my current dental state with great care and precision. Probably the most precise exam I’ve ever experienced in all my years of seeing Dentists. After my first cleaning, he recommended a few procedures to minimize my current issue with gaps in my gums and reduced tissue surrounding the roots of a number of front and rear teeth. He took detailed pictures in order to allow me to see the issues, he was viewing, during my cleaning. After a reasonable discussion, we now have a good plan to ensure my past dental work will be in good shape for many years to come. Not only did he offer a great consulting experience, his staff were very professional and kind as well. Highly recommended from this new and happy patient.

I had an excellent experience here. I was greeted by a warm Receptionist and reception area. The dental assistant was knowledgeable and kind. The dentist is knowledgeable, addressed all of my concerns and gave me specific follow up care instructions for my concerns. I felt relaxed and comfortable during my visit. I will recommend Wayzata Dental to my friends and family.
