I recently had an appt for a cleaning and 6 month checkup along with teeth whitening at Wayzata Dental and had a very positive experience. The dental hygienist was very thorough and gave me good information about my teeth, as did Dr. McDowell. I have never had my teeth whitened in a dental office and was very pleased with the results.

No novocaine and I got to watch a movie while they were working on my tooth - best dentist appointment I've ever had. I went to Wayzata Dental because of their new laser but will stay because of the great experiences I've had. Great people and a nice office atmosphere!

The service and the people at Wayzata Dental are second to none. Their non-evasive and painless use of technology to remove and refill cavities is exactly what I was looking for! This technology would be great for kids and those that are afraid of going to the dentist because of 'pain'.

All my life and I’ve only had 1 cavity- so you can imagine my shock when I was told I had numerous of cavities in my mouth a few years ago by a different dentist. I suffer from anxiety and knowing that I would need to get them filled put me in a deep depression. For me it was my fear of gagging or throwing up.
After my depression lifted I had come to terms with being completely put out (sedated) in order for this to happen. Time went by and last fall I learned about Solea, a laser that would replace the drill. The hygienist met with me and showed me how the laser worked. I also met with the dentist. The hard part was, there would still be stuff (cotton roll and cheek shield) in my mouth. So I left. The beginning of 2019 I set aside money for sedation dentistry. In September I finally gave numerous dates that would work for me. In the meantime I began really praying and meditating - I wanted to be brave and didn’t want to be put under. Then I remembered about the laser. I watched a couple of YouTube tutorials even. And then, this past weekend I volunteered at an event where Mother’s of chronically and critically ill children were pampered, fed and could share their heart wrenching stories. I decided if children can go through hell and back and still remain positive, hopeful and smiley I can certainly put my brave pants on and do it.
So today I called Wayzata Dental up at 1:30 and booked an appointment for an hour later. Keep in mind I wasn’t a patient of theirs! Everyone was super kind and patient. I didn’t feel pressured and I knew I could stop at any time. They listened to my story. I shared about my anxieties around this. And, I did it. And it was amazing! All I could feel was air being blown at my tooth and occasionally cool water. It was quick, painless and less invasive than a teeth cleaning. No drill, no Novocain and no soreness. I have had very good experience with Wayzata dental, the staff was very professional and the doctor addressed my dental needs right away , he is very nice person and even reduced some of his fees as I was uninsured. Will recommend for everyone to try on Wayzata Dental.

Best Dentist Ever! Highly recommend-- newest technology, PAIN FREE and trustworthy!
I am so happy to have found this wonderful establishment! The technology is cutting edge-- Dr. McDowell showed me my cavity live on the screen after my cleaning and we booked a filling with the new laser procedure. He filled my cavity with the new "Pain Free" laser-- It absolutely was 100% pain free. I did not need any Novocaine and did not feel a thing during or now after the procedure! It's a new quality of life for someone who has had many fillings! I am also a member of the in house "dental insurance" program they offer (as I do not carry my own). It is affordable and offers members one free cleaning etc per year.
I am very to happy to have found such a great dentist, cutting edge practice, and trust worthy and skilled personnel! A+
