I’ve always hated going to the dentist until Aspen opened in Tupelo. They changed my perspective until the past couple of months. Every since Carly left the front office staff has went down hill. Finally got an appointment to get my daughter’s wisdom teeth looked at after the office not answering the phones or calling back from the voicemails. She needs all 4 pulled and has been in pain for months waiting on them. I was told that they would call me with an appointment. After leaving 3 voicemails because I never heard from anyone I finally got someone to answer the phone. Then to be told that I have to come in to the office to fill out paperwork. I’m currently working 7 days a week and asked if I could fax them the paperwork and was told a very quick no. Today, prime example. They “open” at 10 and I’ve been calling since 10:01 to see if I could come in today to fill out the paperwork and have yet to get the phone to ring through. I keep getting the automatic setting telling me to leave a voicemail or to call back during open hrs. I really hate this place has turned out like it has. The dental staff is amazing.

I had a little dental emergency before leaving town for a week. I’d never been to Aspen Dental but they were the only place with an in-house lab. They were so quick to get me in and get my tooth fixed! From the receptionist to the lab tech they were all absolutely amazing and I will be going back!

I’ve been to a few aspen dentals and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had with any dentist. I called yesterday to schedule an appointment and I was told to be there at 8:30 Thursday morning April 8th I show up and I am told that I was supposed to be there Friday morning April 9th not Thursday. I said no problem I’ll come back, the lady at the front Assured me that they could get me in so I agreed to wait. I paid up front before ever going back to see the dentist. Dr. Collins comes in and asks me what they are doing today so I tell him. He then proceeds to tell me that they don’t have the X-rays but they don’t need them. I have never gone to any dentist and not had X-rays taken or pulled up, he said he doesn’t need em we will be fine without them. He then asked me how long I have been working at my job, I told him 2 years, he proceeds to tell me that he has been doing his job for 30 years and that he believes he can do his job better than I can do my job. At this point I am almost laughing but it’s not funny with his demeanor and belittling tone of voice. So I told him that was a bold assumption, at this point the nurse is going to get the tools to begin work on my teeth. And this is when it became extremely unprofessional and more personal towards me. After I told him that was a bold statement he raises me up and stands very close while attempting to look down upon me and says “you don’t think after 30 years I don’t know how the hell to do my job better than you?” At this point that I had enough. I began to get out of the dental chair and walk out while explaining to him that I will not be spoken down to in an unprofessional and unprecedented way as if I am a child. He then proceeded to tell me that I am a child. That’s rather strange given my age and stature and how well i carry myself and respect others around me. I went to the front to ask for a refund where I had been nothing but kind and courteous the whole time and the people at the front seemed to be rather confused as to why I was doing this. When I explained to them what happened they did not seem surprised nor was I offered any type of forgiveness. I was told my money would be refunded in a few business days. I thanked them and left. After my various experiences with aspen dental I will no longer be going to any aspen dental clinic. Also, I will never recommend an aspen dental clinic, especially the aspen dental in Tupelo MS where the vertically challenged Dr. Collins is employed.

I can't strongly enough stress to stay as far away from this company as possible. I took my daughter there for her annual checkup and cleaning. The whole time there I had a bad feeling that they were one of those Corporate Dentistry types that don't actually have quality patient care. Since we were new to the area I decided to wait and see if my suspicions were wrong. My older daughter broke her wisdom tooth a couple days ago. I told her to go to see them since they have a free exam and xrays for patients that have no insurance. She has been in agony for two days with the pain of this tooth. To my surprise they sent her home with a prescription for antibiotics and pain killers. Told her to come back in 9 days to have the tooth removed because they don't have any time to do the removal before then. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. That a place that has on their own recording that they see emergencies and will do what it takes to keep their patients well would be so blind to a persons pain, and allow someone to live with an exposed nerve from a tooth for over a week. I have worked in Veterinary medicine for over 30 years and can tell you we would never let an animal remain in this kind of pain for even half that time. I phoned to their office to speak with their Manager. What a joke, she went up one side and down the other on why they could not extract my daughters tooth earlier then 9 days. First it was infection. I asked does your location not do antibiotic injections? The response was yes they do. The next was there wasn't an available appointment prior to the 9 days. I asked is there a reason you can't request another client that is having a basic or yearly screening to bump their appointment for an emergency? The Managers response was you actually want me to ask someone to move their appointment? Yes, I would do it if someone called and asked me by far. Did I mention that during this whole conversation this "Manager" was discussing my daughters appointment, what the doctor said, what the x-rays showed, about the antibiotics and pain medications. My daughter only listed me to contact in case of emergency and this woman completely violated HIPP laws. This is a serious violation and should not be taken lightly. Anyone that may be considering going to any of their locations should think very carefully first.

I recently visited the Aspen Dental in Tupelo, MS. The environment was nice and also the staff but the service wasn't that great. I have gold crowns on my front teeth and one had loosen. I went there to have them re-cement it. So they took it off and put the cement in and pushed it back on my tooth, but the problem is that the crown has a star on it and now its all clogged with the cement and it bulks out. The assistant didn't remove the excess cement. Now my tooth is all bent and some of the cement is in between my other teeth. The dentist never came back to check the assistant's work. Now I've got to see another dentist to fix their mistake.

The whole staff was very friendly and professional. I had no problems while taking X-rays or getting my gums measured. I found the X-ray “tech” and the hygienist very delightful. The dentist did however break his instrument while poking at one of my back teeth which was very uncomfortable and a bit unsettling. That could have gone disastrous if it had punctured something or I had swallowed the broken end! However, my main issue is with the end of the visit. I felt as if I was getting scammed and worked over. I wanted a breakdown of what my treatment plan was going to cost and what was included. I felt like the woman was fairly guarded about giving this information away. I started asking her but by bit so that I could write it all down, but she seamed annoyed by me asking about the prices. I believe it should be completely open and transparent in regards to what each procedure and visit is going to cost before insurance and after. Even without a printed breakdown, I wasn’t going to just sign up for this treatment plan without knowing what is included. When we were discussing what was included in the prices I felt as if certain “extras” (the EXPENSIVE toothbrush and “Zoom” whitening in particular) was nonchalantly squeezed in, even though I was never asked whether I wanted it or not. I kind of felt I was dealing with a salesperson, working just to squeeze in a commission, rather than a medical profession discussing my medical needs.

The staff is so wonderful and polite and helpful the insurance department went out of their way to check my insurances and keep me up-to-date on all costs of procedures . All the ladies including Emily at the front desk is very helpful and polite when you call Lynn to make appointments or for emergencies and go out of their way to check with the doctor about fitting you in even when they have a booked schedule. Dr. Collins has been our dentist since we’ve been with them for a year and he is the most wonderful dentist I have ever been to even including the dentist in Arkansas when we lived there for 15 years. I would recommend him to anyone very highly his work is spot on he definitely knows what he’s doing. We have lived in Mississippi for three years and tried three or four different dentists and since we found Dr. Collins I will not switch or go back to anyone else I will always use Aspen Dental for All my families Dental needs you won’t go wrong by choosing this dentist office

I had such a pleasant visit yesterday the office staff was extremely nice and welcoming. My dentist was very nice also an answered all of my questions. They really pay attention to you I felt like they actually cared rather than just being the next person through the door. I would definitely recommend them to everyone. Have another appointment coming up and I'm looking forward to it.

My wife just left aspen dental after she was there for 2 and a half hours. She was scheduled for a cleaning but instead only got xrays and was informed by a hygienist it was "too late" in the day to get her teeth cleaned. That she would have to come back another time for that. We feel it was very unprofessional and absolutely will not be back. She wasted her whole afternoon for nothing but to be told to reschedule. Absolutely horrible service.
