Viewmont Family Dentistry

I made an appointment because my crown had came off of my implant. I drove from MARION to Hickory to this appointment. Upon my arrival at the office and checking in the secretary seemed astonished that i had medical insurance. Her immediate reply was ‘ I thought you were going to pay cash’. After completing the the necessary paperwork I was rushed to the office by a friendly dental assistant. The Dental Assistant attempted to replace the crown unsuccessfully. She then took several x-rays the dentist came in and told me he had both good and bad news. The good news was that my gum and tooth was intact. The bad news was that he could not put my crown on the implant. When I inquired why “he said he did not have the necessary tools to perform such a task”. I asked him if the crown had been damaged the reason why he could not replace the crown on the implant. His reply was NO ‘you need to go back to your regular dentist to have it completed”. I stated I am traveling from California and would like it replaced before we returned. He apologized and said “he could not do the work”.

I left and consulted with two Dentists and both stated it was a simple process providing the Implant and Crown were not damage. I then UTUBE how to replace a Crown on an Implant, and the process was simple. I bought some dental glue from Walgreen and within five minutes I had the tooth back in place.

As a result I would rate Viewpoint Family Dentistry in the following manner on a scale of 1-5

Wonderful experience! I have been taking my 3 kids here & decided to switch to their office to keep it "all in the family". First of all, they allow me to schedule the 3 kids & myself, so 4 slots, all at the sametime! Which is honestly, rare to find a dentist that will do that! My kids had Amanda as their hygienist yesterday & she was great with them! I had Stephanie & she was AMAZING! She took her time with me, was gentle, and addressed my concerns with compassion. Truly the BEST cleaning experience I've ever had! You will NOT be disappointed with this kind dentist, his hygienists, and his helpful & smiling staff!

My experience was not pleasant. It has nothing to do with their work on my teeth but rather, the refusal of doing so. I was told by the older bald dentist about a year or two ago that I'd need my teeth pulled in the front as soon as possible because of rushed orthodontist work on my braces. I expressed to him how wearing my retainer hurt my two front teeth and he told me not to wear the retainer and to get a permanent one for the time being until I was old enough to get my teeth replaced, Which he stated multiple times the urgency of getting them replaced. Fast forward to recently and he comes in the room with an entire different narrative 😑. Now my teeth are loose because I didn't come to see him as often as often should've? Like huh? Then he explains he doesn't want to replace them, mainly because I'm young and I shouldn't have to be missing teeth. I was like what??? But you're the one who told me to get them replaced. I came in for a CONSULTATION for a partial bridge, NOT to have him telling me that he doesn't want to pull my teeth just because I'm young. He also made a snide remark about waiting until I got a husband to pull my teeth, which was very rude in my opinion. His assitant asked if he wanted to refer me to an orthodontist since he decided to completely change his mind on the work I needed to get done and he says no that he can't. Now if that's true I appreciate his honesty, if not then he needs some serious help. I will be getting a second opinion and I'm only giving them one star because the ladies were really nice to me, but the main dentist, the bald middle aged guy, is a total jerk.

Every bad review you read on here doesn't do justice of how bad Viewmont Family Dentistry is. I had my 2 teeth extracted and they were supposed to find out if my insurance would cover a partial or not. They said that in most cases the insurance usually covers. To make a long story short they said that they'll call me back when they hear from the insurance and that it usually takes 4 weeks for the insurance to get back to them. Well 2 months went by and I did not hear from Viewmont , mind you I'm missing my 2 front teeth and Viewmont could care less. So I went to Aspen and paid out of my pocket for a partial that I got in 4 days. Viewmont didn't have the decency to even call me and tell me what's going on. I confronted them and they could care less with their lame excuses. It's ok to be a money vampire as they are but they should have a little compassion for their patients.

My daughter had to go here for a tooth extraction.. the dentist dr hamren was incredibly incompetent..she explained how she didn’t think she was numb and he proceeded to extract away as she lay there screaming and crying. He gave her no information whatsoever after the extractions were done and just walked out of the room. I have also had issues with this dentist office being incredibly hard to reach. I had to call to get X-rays sent over somewhere and I could not reach them. They wouldn’t return my calls. I ended up having to pay to get new xrays taken. Overall this is a horrible office to go to cause it is very obvious that your comfort during Procedures means nothing to these people.

I normally don’t write a review of a business unless I have been mistreated. However, every once in a while you may happen to come across a business that exceeds your expectations, or perhaps restores your faith in humanity. Over the years stemming from childhood I have neglected to take proper care of my teeth, and had rarely visited a Dentist until I was an adult. It was not until I needed to have my wisdom teeth extracted that I began to start caring for my teeth properly. Due to my negligence I’ve needed quite some work done to minimize any further damage to my teeth. My wife recommended her dentist that she goes to for routine cleaning, Reluctant wanting to do more research due to my predisposition that every business will take advantage of you when they can, I held off for the moment. My busy work routine monopolized a lot of my time, therefore failing to research local dentistry, so I finally decided to just try them out. They performed a routine cleaning, checked my teeth, and took an x-ray of my teeth as well, and thus my experience with Viewmont Family Dentistry was off to a start. Throughout my visits, the staff has always been extremely courteous and the dentists himself also incredible. To simply suggest that he was gentle, yet thorough, quick yet patient, all the while extremely kind would be a sad understatement, while this quality should be common in today’s medical industry, I don’t believe this to be the case. Viewmont Family Dentistry has set that standard for superior quality in all aspects, I can’t think of a better way to praise him and his staff, or a better way to express the positive experience I’ve had thus far. The words I’ve put into my review lack the proper emphasis I desire to express regarding my experiences with this Dentistry. They deserve positive recognition in our local community, and for all those whom look to reviews to make a sound decision, rest assured they not only will “not” take advantage of you, they will also treat you the way you should be treated and then more.

I have been using Viewmont Family Dentistry for the last 2 years. Service has always been great. The wait time for an appointment and actually spent in the office has always been very short. Whenever there is an issue, the entire staff has gone out of their way to make sure i get the best possible service and care. I would recommend Viewmont Family Dentistry to anyone who is looking for a Dentist in the Hickory area.

I am extremely pleased with the customer service here! I wish I could remember her name, but the dental assistant with blonde hair is VERY patient, informative and caring ❤️ ...and the dentist knows exactly what he is doing! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
