Dr. Ballinger is the best dentist anyone could ask for. I have been been a patient for 5 years and each visit is exceptional! Today was my first root canal and I was terrified, after sitting in his chair it was so quick and ABSOLUTELY NO PAIN at all!

I highly recommend anyone to seek his services. He and his staff are so friendly, caring and professional!

The doctor according to my wife talked down to her the whole time and was just really rude the whole time. First time at a dentist for my daughter. According to numerous reviews from other sites this is how this guy rolls and conduct business. Rude and nasty and will be reported to state of North Carolina the BBB and right across the street to wxii no wonder no phones are allowed so no one can catch the rude comments and interaction you have.

If I could give Chris Ballinger negative stars that is exactly what he deserves! My son was scheduled to be seen a couple of weeks ago, and Dr. Christopher Ballinger was so rude and impatient with my son and I from the moment we walked in the door until I was fed up and walked us out without getting treatment. Chris rudely walked past me at the time of my son's appointment without even acknowledging the fact that I was standing right in his presence, no greeting or NOTHING. He told the other staff that he was not going to treat my son unless he was wrapped, because of my son's prior experience where he cried to get out of the blanket that they never took off of him after he screamed it was uncomfortable (which for any 5 year old I am sure has to feel like they are being attacked!) He is 5 years old and Chris made this a very bad experience for my son. He did not give my son a chance to even do treatment without the blanket the second go round which was very disturbing especially being that I was told by his other staff that they would see how my son would do first before wrapping him. Well no, Chris insisted that "either he is wrapped or I am not going to treat him". Those were his exact words and even stated that I could not be in the room with my scared 5 year old little boy. Now, today my oldest son, who is 7, has an infection due to prior treatment dr. ballinger did on him 2 months ago and I called to see about getting him seen ASAP. Do you know they turned us away due to me walking out after being mistreated two weeks ago? Said I was rude and disrespectful when in fact he does not know good customer service AT ALL WHAT SO EVER. I will never refer anyone to this Dr.! I also have an outstanding bill because they failed to explain to me that my insurance was out of network after I paid the price that I was told was all I had to pay on 3/1/17. This place needs to be shut down and I will be reporting to BBB.

I have never been to a group of more unprofessional and unfriendly dentists in my life. These people have no compassion for anyone. Its sad but they know they are going to get paid by the state so they treat all patients like they are the only ones around. Nothing like we care, anywhere

I have always been treated professionally by this dental office. I respected the no phone rule; the last thing I would want is for a dentist, hygienist, or assistant to be distracted while using sharp objects in my mouth. Therefore, there were never any concerns with staff regarding that issue. Staff were respectful, supportive, and informative regarding procedures. I have been a patient with them for many years, and I am grateful for the great service they continue to provide.

This was the worst dental experience ever. The dentist was down right rude and very unprofessional. He was so rude we left before he even started the work. I have told people of his unprofessionalism of him and his staff

Be careful here!
My daughter was told my grandson(Medicaid patient) had 2csvitirs... my daughter took him for 2nd drs view and he had none! So this dr would have filled 2 teeth for the money, ruining a child’s teeth.

I came to their office while trying to find a quick appointment for dental work before my old insurance ran out. They were able to get me in quickly, which was great. (which, perhaps, should've been my first red flag). The office manager Maryellen, I believe, was very kind and took lots of time with me, listening to my concerns and helping me to understand my extensive dental plan. When Dr. Chris came in, he was rushed, spoke about 5 words to me and began his exam. The whole interaction was rushed and he left the room without much of a conclusion/closing.
Joanna and Courtney up front have always been pleasant and seem to work very hard. So there ARE good employees in the office, it's the dentist that is the problem.
I will say.... that when the lab in California broke my mold/cast and delayed work, Dr. Chris was very apologetic and gave me two movie tickets to make up for the error. I was grateful and understood that it was out of his control.
But each time I went back, he was always rushed and would speak to the tech about my care more than he would to me. It was as if I wasn't even there.... "she can get such and such treatment, but she'll have to wait until..." (as an example). Then would quickly leave the room.
He was rough and didn't explain what he was doing. He was also rude.
These are things he CAN control... but didn't. He apologized for the labs errors but has no regard for his own behavior...
THANK GOODNESS he had an amazing assistant, Robin, to cushion the blow of his treatment and attitude. She is amazing and very kind and patient. She deserves a much better dentist to work for.
The last straw was after I went back to explain why I was so unhappy with my partial and while he did work on a couple small adjustments, he completely disregarded my legitimate concerns. As he was leaving the room he asked his assistant if the color was right (which was one of my complaints) and I spoke up, saying it wasn't. That we had picked a perfect color match and checked it under every type of light but that is not the color we got back. Dr. Chris looked blankly and said "well, I was talking to Robin.." and walked off. That was it for me. I'll never go back and have filed a formal complaint with my insurance company to let them know they wasted their money on his dental work.
Not only is my partial bad, but the teeth he did root canals on were left rough feeling and he caused a sensitivity to a tooth in the back that hadn't been there when he did other work.
They appear to do primarily Medicaid patients. Nothing wrong with that, but perhaps that's why he feels he can do awful work and be rude and get away with it. He serves the underprivileged population and many won't speak up or know they're getting substandard care.
I gave two stars for the employees there that deserve it. Not for the dentist himself.

I have been more than satisfied with every visit to Dr. Ballinger's office. The staff always makes me feel more than welcome. The doctors are fast, friendly, and efficient. The assistants go above and beyond to help through each visit. And the hygienists work tirelessly to keep my smile bright and shining. Absolutely love this place.
