I've been going to The Gentle Dentist for three years now and I cannot recommend them enough. Their staff is incredibly friendly and prompt, their hygienists are exceptional and, as the name implies, always gentle and considerate. They're never in a rush, which is something I've grown to dislike at past destists because it always leads to bleeding, discomfort and an all around negative experience. They go the extra mile with TVs in every patient suite and plenty of other perks for their clients. If your insurance covers them, you won't regret making the switch.

Before I started seeing The Gentle Dentist I'd had other dentists quote me thousands of dollars in "necessary" dental work. I went to The Gentle Dentist several years ago and they didn't seem to think I needed all that. I think I've had two fillings since then, with no issue.
They are kind, gentle, and accommodating. They've never pushed unnecessary work or tried to upsell. It's a very different experience, and I appreciate that.

I have been doing business with this dental practice for years, at times even when they were out of network with my insurance, driving 55 minutes to appointments and spending several thousands of dollars. Do not cancel an appointment with these people less than 3 days ahead! I have had to reschedule “5 times” in the past 5 years, oh my! They do not take into consideration unforeseen circumstances, will bill you $100 and only allow you to make a same day appointment (only if they have room for you) in the future. Apparently they are so busy that they can take your business or leave it! They have definitely lost mine! I will no longer recommend this practice to anyone I care about. The patient does not come first, only the $$$$....................... I am updating this review in response to The Gentle Dentist’s response. You say that it is not your intent to charge patients under the circumstance of a cancellation and attempted reschedule (mind you, NOT a missed appointment), but you very greedily charged me $100 and threatened accumulating interest on that $100 (on an account that has been completely paid off for years) and very happily accepted that payment of $100. Your office informed me that future appointments could no longer be accepted and that I would need to call in daily to see if you could fit me in. Yet I remain on your mailing list because you still want the income from a future planned crown work up and have been trying to get me to agree to implants for years. Please, don’t support this type of business practice! Take your business somewhere else!

We have been coming here since 2012. They run a well oiled machine and will make you wonder why all medical offices don't this way. They are always cheery and make you very comfortable. They really live up to their name of being gentle. All the images from Little Shop of Horrors will melt away once they start your cleaning. They are very knowledgeable and will answer any questions you have no matter how numerous. They make you feel very at ease with their recommendations, helping you to feel they will only recommend procedures that are truly necessary. Love this place!

I’ve always been a nervous dental patient but not at The Gentle Dentist. All the staff there provide such friendly and kind service. My experience with them has actually been relaxing. I won’t be avoiding dental visits anymore. 😀

Dr Cronin is the best dentist to graduate from OSU!! She is so personal and great to talk to while she works. She know our family’s mouth’s forward and backward. Thanks for all you do and a big shout out to the staff and Jane for getting my text on Sunday about losing my crown and getting me in Monday to fix. Only the Gentle Dentist can meet these expectations.

Make sure you have the correct insurance before you go, because they only accept one type and certainly will not tell you if you are out of network. They even checked with my insurance company to see if my children and I were due for X-rays while we were in the chair, and didn’t say a word. For routine cleanings and X-rays WITH major dental insurance, we had to pay $650 at the end of our visit. Beware of their borderline unethical and predatory practices. It’s unfortunate, because we had an otherwise really great experience.
UPDATE: How transparent of you to put it in the forms. I can’t believe I missed that small detail while filling out health histories for 3 people. Shame on me for not doing my due diligence and assuming a large practice would take a major insurer.
What I definitely didn’t miss were multiple conversations with your staff where they had ample opportunity to give me a heads up. Scheduling, “do you have insurance”, “yes, I have …”, “Ok, great.” Nothing. Then while in the office being told, “we checked your insurance and you’re due for X-rays, it will just add a little to your copay today.” A little.
“A little” does not translate to almost $700 to me, does it to you? There is nothing ethical or transparent about that. I hope this review helps you and your staff develop clearer communication skills so that this doesn’t happen to another family.
