My regular tech had a family emergency. My appointment and the tech got changed a few times because of this. What I didn't like was having to wait about 40 minutes to be seen. I would have preferred being told she was running behind and offered a chance to change appointment time and day. Never had this happen before.

Unnecessary root canal
A badly made crown in April caused me to have an unnecessary root canal in September of 2019. When the unnecessary root canal also didn't work for the pain the crown was causing, I was told that they will need to drill through my jaw to extinguish any "remaining anatomy". At this point, I had 10 months of really bad painful mouth, and having to chew on 1 side.
After the crown was put in April and I couldn't chew on that side, I had gone to Dr. Lassen at least 2 different times to ask for help, and each time I was told it's not the crown - it must be a fracture (although none was visible), or sometimes just damage happens after the crown is put in, too much trauma for the tooth, etc. During the first visit, Dr. Lassen filed the crown down in the middle of the tooth (and not around the sides or at the point where the pain was). The next time I was again told that sometimes this happens, and when I suggested that the crown was ill-fitting, I was reassured that the crown was perfect.
Since I still couldn't chew on that side due to pain, I was then re-directed to the endodontist, who proceeded to perform a completely unnecessary root canal, based solely on pain symptoms and no x-ray evidence. After the root canal didn't work (of course it didn't! The tooth was suffering from what it felt like a horse shoe on a goat's hoof, a huge badly made ill-fitting crown) I was again irradiated, the tooth was again filed a little but not at the site where it hurt, and I was told I need to have my jaw drilled through.
At this point, I had almost resigned myself with the situation that I will always be in pain when I use the right side of my mouth for the rest of my life. But now my left side was starting to hurt; and I had already spent $1,500 in addition to maxing out my insurance benefit, and I just refused to have my jaw being drilled through.
Enter new dentist! He took one look at my mouth and said that the crown is way too big compared to the rest of the teeth, that it's putting mechanical pressure on the surrounding teeth, and that the tooth above it was too long and also putting extra pressure on it. He also said my gum is now so bruised that it will take some time for it to recover. He filed the crown on all sides, including the most painful side, and after that he filed to top tooth. Lo and Behold! I am pain-free, and my mouth, my teeth, my chewing and my sanity have returned.
I dare not think of how the story would have ended had a gone with the jaw drilling plan.
I love Loretta and she has been my dental hygienist for 8 years, but on this dentist I would definitely seek a second opinion because he thinks he can't make an error. He did not listen to my feedback. This error cost me, in addition to the root canal cost, inconvenience, lost work hours, countless X-rays, damage to my other side, and most importantly, 10 months of pain.

I called with a broken and painful tooth, the receptionist was kind and promptly got me in. The hygienist was also kind and quick to get x-rays. Dr Quest explained everything to me. I got very good care.
