UAB School of Dentistry

When you think of a Root Canal, especially on a 17 year old, you think the worst. That was NOT the case here. Dr. Patrick Bryant Jr. was AMAZING. He explained everything as he was going and really made the process smooth, putting my daughters worries at ease, and mine. 10/10 recommend. They could get a new front desk assistant, but other than that, everything was perfect. She was just rude and apparently didn't like her job very much.

Have been coming here for years. This is an excellent school that does exceptional work by junior and senior students. Everything is double, triple, and quadruple checked by professors (doctors). Just have patience and your wallet will thank you!

I went in and had two teeth filled. They did not hurt now I am in constant pain! I had an upper denture made. I cannot wear it is to big for my mouth!! The student told me you will adjust!! I had my first denture made 30 years ago and wore it for 15 years!! It fit great!! Then I had my second one made 15 years ago and wore it for 15 years!! I just can't understand how someone that has never worn a denture before knows more than me!! I really hope I can have this resolved!!!

I first started coming to UAB Dentistry because I couldn't afford private practice dental work without insurance but so far I've loved it more than any other dentist I've ever seen. When you register as a patient you're assigned a student who will be working with you (under faculty supervision.) Mine is Valerie Castro and she is AMAZING, very competent and sweet. She has also been very gracious and willing to talk to me about any concerns or questions at any time outside our scheduled appointments. Wherever she goes after graduation, I will definitely be recommending her to everyone I know.

I also had a root canal done by resident Nathan Nunnalee and thought he was amazing as well. Saw me the same day when I first came in with pain (which I understand he was not obligated to do), did an amazing job and was happy to explain the process as well as answer any questions I had throughout the procedure.

I haven't worked with every student and staff member in the facility but if those two (as well as the other student and faculty members I HAVE met) are any indication, I would recommend UAB Dentistry to any patient for any reason, regardless of insurance status or price range. The affordability is just a nice bonus.

I'm posting for my friend, this place had no problem taking his money, his insurance, paid in full, he has been treated awful, implants were supposed to be done, he has been left with nothing in his mouth for a year but one rod! They can't even make a appointment correctly, Don't go there!!! I should post their name but God don't like ugly!

A simple cleaning has turned into TWO appointments and a waste of $80! All I want is a cleaning and they wasted 2 hours of my time simply taking multiple X-Rays only to tell me they need to set up another appointment for the actual cleaning and spend another $90 on the cleaning and service.
If you value TIME and want something simple done quickly, don’t come here or else you’ll be paying $170+ for TWO appointments! I wish I had known that beforehand so I wouldn’t waste my time driving all the way to Birmingham.

I am posting this review on behalf of my father, Donny Gosdin. He insisted that Lindsey Maxwell receive the appreciation she deserves for her excellent dental work provided. Lindsey was kind and did a great job assisting my father. He raved that, “I couldn’t have had a better job done anywhere else. Lindsey was great!”

I walked into UAB Dentistry today with a broken tooth, tho I was more worried they’d give me multiple reasons as to why they couldn’t pull the tooth today and just all around paranoid that I’d be assisted by a rude or arrogant Dr… well it was the complete opposite!! The lady at the front desk was super sweet, and Dr. Cameron who was THE BEST, love love Loved his attitude and enthusiasm about his job, very professional and such a sweet heart, he also made me laugh! BTW (I’m usually super nervous) ! I highly Highly recommend UAB Dentistry… I’ll most certainly be back, it was well worth the hr drive.. especially since my dentist had given me the run around.. oh and OMg the price was incredible compared to what I would’ve had to pay here in my home town!! Anywho, I wish all those lovely students nothing but the best of luck on their journey with helpin others smile again!! Thanks again Guys 😌

The only lady that was polite and calm was the lady at the check in desk that checked me in. The students were very nice too. While I was standing at the desk AFTER I signed in talking to the nice lady to tell her I had never been there before and was unsure what to do, a black lady very loudly tells me to sign in and sit down and pointed at a chair. I’m not a child and you’re not a drill Sargent so do NOT treat people as such. I was also charged $30 for just an exam after I had already paid. At the end of the day, please learn to be nicer to people. People aren’t deaf so you can stop yelling and it cost $0 to be nice.

I have been going to the school of Dentistry now as of March 2022 six
months , my attending dentist are Linn Tran and Lincoln Nyguen they are very well trained in their areas of dentistryI had my consultation with Linn she was a very cheerful attentative student at the dental school if all the students are taught and trained to be as thorough and passionate as these student you are in good hands, they allevitated my pain and fear as this team work dedicatedly on my oral health care, well I can only speak to my experience at the age of 66 with my poor dental history I would say to the UAB school of Dentistry Academic department you should be extra proud of these two I am humble to have had such great young enthusiastic students with working as and with (DENTAL PROFESSIONALISM) work on my oral care , every procedure ,process was explained documented following policy codes and authorizations with me the patient follow ups and scheduling were timely and they made sure the experience was painless I never thought getting teeth pulled and partial made to fit would be such fun but that was my experience my case of dental hygiene and preventive maintence for oral health would never happen before coming to the school of dentistry, my own cousin who was a dentist did not advise me on the damage that eventually caused me not to feel good about smiling and caring for my teeth he said everything was ok now, many dentist in my younger year did not help with my education on oral health.
Since I have been coming to the UAB School of dentistry Linn has worked very hard on preparing my partials and Lincoln provided me with Perio tools and knowledge on preventing the plaque build up and help my gums to get healthier they remove and repaired damage and weaken teeth and help save those healthy ones with continued treatment s they showed dedication and attention to my medical status and history and also
100% to my health in oral care . To the staff ,teachers, professors, heads of departments you are all great I was glad I got to meet and have consultation with a lot of you , their teachers professors and staff Department heads came and gave them the guidance and professional help there was team work from peers of the class as well, I got celebrity star treatment some the other clients noticed and watched from their bay seats amazed one client said hello I remember you it good to see you my team was awesome.

Lincoln Nyugen in Perio; Linn Tran (MY GIRL) who worked with Dr. Hsu whom I love. loved his character and accuracy and guidance kept me ( "So Good" ), always smiling and Jamie Linn who assisted Linn so much fun we had when I played a joke on him but he kept his work ethic professional as they are Known in clinic as(Linh Tran) my dental care and treatment was complicate at times as i'm a 3 time stroke survivor with afib and highblood. So with all due respect to others that assisted with this experience you too are comended for a job well done can't wait for to get my partials . Thanxs UABSD .!!!
