Family First Dentistry

I'd had a toothache for a couple of days which would not go away. I was guessing it was an abscess which needed medication. I called Family First Dentistry since I had been a patient there previously a few years ago and they graciously got me in for an appointment in the same afternoon. The folks there are so friendly and helpful and made me feel right at home. Alaskans tend to be this way, I've found after being here for over 40 years. The feeling that "we're all in this together" seems to play out very often, especially during the last year of the pandemic nonsense. After an exam, x-rays and a prescription, I was on my way with advice to return so they could finish the job that eventually needs to be done. Thanks, Family First. First visit after 2 years and all I can say is it wasn’t as bad as I anticipated it to be. My dental hygienist was and has been ALWAYS amazing! My dentist retired, so I saw a new dentist. Looking forward to build a new relationship with him! Thank you!!!

Dr.Devin was very professional, along with the assistant Alyssa. Extremely patient and never felt like a rush job while doing procedures. Doesn’t make you feel burden like, and doesn’t rush you to get the next client in the seat and out the door. He was very gentle and makes sure you’re okay during the process. The office is a big nice environment with very kind staffing. Would recommend this place to family/friends.

Have you ever felt like someone is just doing whatever they want in your mouth and you have no choice? Or were afraid to go because of price? Or you thought it was covered but wasn't? Been there!

I've been going to Family First since I turned 19 and could choose my own dental office. I went to a couple places before and just never felt like I had a choice on what they were doing. The first time I went to Family First they gave me this little print out showing me what my insurance covered and the dentist discussed my options. It was so nice to know what was covered, what they thought was best and what my options were. I knew before any procedure how much it would cost.
I keep going back because the staff is always so so nice and helpful. The dentists are all wonderful. Even the billing department and receptionists have been exceptional.

The staff is awesome! Very safe environment practicing social distancing and mask wear. I see Dr. Harr and have never had a bad experience with him. Everyone is very personable, especially Margaret on the front counter. I see Candace for my cleaning and she is also very nice, thorough and gentle. Been a patient here for twenty years.

I was needing some dental work done so I called my regular dentist only come to find out he had left...They set me up with Dr. Copua I will be honest I was very nervous for someone new since my childhood experiences with dentists was so awful. But he came in was so sweet and nice made me very comfortable and was very direct and up front with everything he needed to do and I was in and out within an hour n half...he told me what to expect and the pain...I can tell you he is amazing and I would recommend him to anyone. his tech was so sweet and caring has a kind demeanor...my best dental experience ever thank you..Michelle

Love Family First Dentistry. This was my first dentist appointment since COVID and they handled it very professionally, minimizing my interactions with staff. My hygienist met be in the lobby, cleaned my teeth, settled my bill and walked me out the back. Well done.

I love Family First! Dr. Chappell is awesome and very personable which is not always the case with dentists. He has consistently gone above and beyond for me, to include giving me his cell number after a procedure. Another occasion, calling to check on me after I called with a question. The entire staff is awesome. I won't go anywhere else for my dental needs. Another plus, they have a comfort menu

I never write reviews but I have really bad anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist and hands down this is the best dentist place I’ve ever been to. The dental hygienist that I’ve seen the last two times, Sam, is incredibly sweet and honestly it feels like you’re just chatting with a friend which makes the cleaning feel super chill and go by very fast. It’s the first time I wasn’t dreading going back for my 6month cleaning.

Dr. Harr removed one of my wisdom teeth a few months ago (he was highly recommended to me and I now know why) and I was incredibly nervous for the IV sedation but him and the two other women assisting were so incredibly kind and did everything they could do to help distract me. I may or may not have had a mild panic attack when I saw the needle and start to cry lol but one of the women was so kind and wiped my tears away for me. I mean… I cannot stress enough how KIND everyone is. Everything went great (I’m assuming since I remember none of it) and the healing went fairly well. For my 1 week check up I told her (I’m so sorry I cannot remember the name of the woman who did my checkup but she was great) that my mouth was throbbing a bit and she put a dissolvable collagen thing with clove oil in the socket and it felt immediately better. Other than the discomfort that comes with any wisdom tooth surgery recovery, I was very happy with everything. I couldn’t recommend him enough for anyone that has to get wisdom teeth removed.

Everyone that I’ve encountered has been very nice and professional so it’s a 10/10 for me.

I went in because I had severe tooth pain coming from one of my wisdom teeth. Ashley was the dental assistant/hygienist helping me and she was wonderful! She was very informative and talked me through the entire extraction process. Also, during the surgery both Dr. Capua and Ashley helped keep me calm and collected and told me I was handling it all really well. I would definitely recommend them to everyone, and 10/10 will go back!
