Fine Dentistry

I first came to this office about three years ago. I was looking for someone that would treat my dental issues holistically. I had TMJ-related jaw pain, a filling that would not stay put, a blocked ear every time I flew in an airplane, and food getting stuck between my teeth. I was so glad I came here. Dr. Purps did an extremely thorough exam during my initial visit. I have never had such a thorough exam before. All of my amalgam fillings were old and needing to be replaced. I had multiple chipped teeth. However, my enamel was also cracking. I clenched my teeth at night while I slept.

Dr. Purps suggested that my bite might be off and if we fixed that first, we could get my teeth to a place where I could once again love my smile. I wore a MAGO for about a year to stablized my jaw. After that, I had nearly all of my teeth crowned (they needed it). I also had one tooth extracted from the back that was not really functional anyway becuase I had one pulled on the bottoom for orthodontic work when I was a teenager.

Besides loving my smile, I have experienced multiple improvements. I no longer have jaw pain, and my nightly clenching has significantly decreased. My right ear no longer stays plugged after flying. This is important because I travel a lot for work. It also used to be painful; that is all gone now. Lastly, I never realized that what I thought were tension headaches were actually related to my bite being out of proper position. I rarely get headaches anymore.

I have recently started taking my teenage son to Dr. Purps. He finished with his orthodntic work and was still experiencing headaches. She had worked to improve his bite, and I have not heard him compain about a headache in weeks! He used to complain daily. I highly recommend this office to anyone that is lookingn to improve their overall health and wellbeing.

Dr. Sabine is concerned with how your teeth, smile and bite affect your whole person. She is real, genuine, thoughtful and thorough. Her past work as a dental technician has made her keenly aware of what is needed. She has helped change my life for the better through her dentistry, working in partnership with my orthodontist, and work on my bite post-jaw surgery. She and her team are amazing, from her dental assistants, hygienist (Marsha!) and everyone you meet in her dental practice.

It takes a lot for one to go out of their way to leave a negative review of a dental office, but I urge you to avoid Sabine’s practice at all costs! I don’t recommend Sabine’s approach to dentistry, the terrible organization of the office staff, and the financial implications of all of the above.

Sabine is of the school of dentistry that disguises their overreactions to common conditions as “preventative”, which means more fear tactics and more money from your wallet. Easy example is that I have a slight decay in between two of my molars that has been the same in size the last five years. I told Sabine that all other recs were to just keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn’t increase in size...and she was insistent that she treat it immediately. She did literally 5 different forms of Xrays/tests that involve inking your teeth, cameras, film, and just so much unnecessary stuff disguised as “the latest tech” that’s clearly intended to convince you that your teeth aren’t perfect.

Even if you are a fan of this school of thought, the organization of this office is absurd. The assistant up front didn’t file my insurance claim correctly, told me that my visits were completely covered when they were not, and even did awful stuff like give me a rebate on a toothbrush that was expired! I mean, it just got to be pretty absurd. All in all, I gave this office $300 more for a basic cleaning and Xrays than I would have at any other dental practice.

Sabine and the staff seem nice, but the current practice is a total mess and certainly screwed me over as a new client. I will be looking for a new dentist.

The team is exceptional. Everyone works together like clockwork. Dr Purps is trained and knowledgeable to the highest degree. This is the highest level of care you can get in town! Minimally Invasive Dentistry for maximum results! Worth your time to invest into your optimum dental health!

Being a highly satisfied patient for years with outstanding results and enjoying every visit to Dr. Purps office, it was the day of accidentally loosing a front tooth when I appreciated more than ever having such an amazing dentist.
