Star Dental Institute

I will be looking for a new dentist at Comfort Dental. My mouth is worse than it was when I first started seeing them last year. I am now missing two more teeth, the root canals they did on three of my front teeth have failed, and I wasted my time a few months ago when I went in for a repair on a tooth that had broken which had also had a root canal that they had done. I sat in the chair for over three hours for them to tell me that I don't have enough medicaid to cover the other teeth that needed replacing, all of my teeth had cavities between them, and that we needed to figure out "priorities" going forward. Two of those three hours were spent waiting for the dentist to fix my tooth. I had mentioned that I had a broken tooth during that visit as well. The dentist that was there (Not Dr. Moore, this was a girl) was the same one that had done the root canal on two of my teeth including my broken one. She also told me that "we keep playing the same game; we wait for medicaid and we have more problems to fix on top of the already existing ones." She didn't bother to look at my broken back tooth, gave me a charity application which she told me she hoped would accept me and sent me on my way with some disinfecting mouthwash and nothing else. She had also pulled one of my teeth and it got infected which I had to treat myself. I'll be figuring out how to transfer all of my records to Comfort Dental. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. I now have even more severely damaged teeth due to them.

Dr. J is hands down the best dentist I have had!
I used to avoid the dentist before her but she has shown nothing but professionalism, great great bedside manner and not to mention my dental procedures have turned out amazing. I recommend anyone interested in coming here or Star Dental Institute to see Dr. J. You will be happy you did ☺️

I hate the dentist that’s why I only go when I absolutely have to! So when I chipped my front tooth and called several other dentist offices and they either gave me hassle about getting me in expeditiously (cmon it’s my front tooth here, I can’t wait a month to fix it!!) or about accepting my insurance (Medicaid), but not Star Dental! Not only did they offer same day appointments for these type of emergencies (which I couldn’t take because I was at work and figured there’s be some type of wait period), but the took my insurance and we efficient when checking my benefits which I really appreciated so I knew what to look forward to and no surprises when it came time for payment. On this journey, I have to add, I’ve had THE BEST assistants and doctor, Dr. Moore. He was kind and patient and really about saving the tooth which is awesome. And shout out to April, Nettie and Val for the amazing jobs they did-not only comforting me about the procedure (Val knew how nervous I was and floored me with nitrous but I have to admit that was the best root canal I’ve EVER had because of her 😊) & how great my smile turned out from all this(April)🧡) I thank you all from the bottom of my heart!!!

I called first thing this morning with a terrible toothache. Stuart told me to come in as soon as I could. April was an absolute comfort for me. She was so kind and caring. I then had another young lady come in to comfort me because it was infected and very painful. I started crying and couldn't stop. Dr. J was GREAT!! She was gentle, caring, and understanding. Stuart came in and checked on me 3 times, as well. Thank you each and everyone of you for a nice visit. I might add today is Friday the 13th!!😄😄

12/20/22 update:
I'm maintaining my 5 star review. I received a full upper denture, aleveoplasty and had 8 extractions on 12/09. The procedure only took about 15 mins. Dr. Moore was thorough and I feel made great call in not doing sutures which I believe completely aided in my quick healing. Initially the upper that was made really did not fit, not just because of the swelling from the extractions but because they just weren't right... but I knew this may happen because I still has teeth and an odd bite when the impressions were done. Though I was very upset with how ill-fitting the immediate denture was I was happy with how hard everyone worked to get them "fitting enough" to be able to go home and unwind. I also broke down in tears and was reassured many times that they would be remade and it would be OK. Because my procedure was done on a Friday, my post-op did not happen until the following Monday, I did not see Dr. Moore at this visit but another Dentist who I felt also took the time to listen to my concerns and validated my feelings/opinions about how the intial denture I received fit and where I'd like it to be. Stuart was able to get me in for a same day remake that week, and Linda, my tech I feel did me a great service in communicating with the lab that I could not come back and prolong the process longer, I only had so many days off work to recover and get used to new teeth and they were coming to an end. She was also extremely patient with me as I was stressed and worried about the whole ordeal. This is not a process you can/ should expect to go completely seamless... if I had more time to be picky, I believe my immediate denture would be perfect but I unfortunately did not have the time to be picky, that being said, they are still 100% better than what I came in with and fit great! I'll save the pickiness for my permanent, when that time comes.

I will say that Star Dental is not a "boutique" denturist or a glitzy cosmetic dentist but more so a dentist that services those who may be experiencing a variety of dental issues but have limited financial resources. The staff are all kind and compassionate people and I'm glad that I picked them over the other "affordable" dentists in town that offer similar/comparable rates. I will continue my treatment plan with Star Dental and will update again once I receive my final or "permanent" denture, but I definitely would still absolutely recommend them in the time being to anyone who is in need. I'm greatful for their timely care and kindness. I feel like a different person and they helped make this whole process feel less daunting and horrifying!

If you are needing a dentist for dentures, I highly recommend you do your research about the entire process so you are educated on what processes may need to be done and why and what to realistically expect, ask questions and express your thoughts. Regardless of where you go, if you're not met with compassion and information/answers, don't settle.

I came to Star Dental after I had received some very sales oriented "advice" regarding how I wanted to move forward with my teeth from my previous dentist. I came to Dr. Moore for a consultation to get Dentures, explained my fears, explained what I had been told previously and explained what I had learned through my own research and asked what his opinion was. I was pleased with his answer, which confirmed my notion that my previous dentist was using a scare tactic to try and push me in a direction that I truly was unable to afford. Tracy has done a wonderful job to scrape the insurance barrel so that I am getting the most for my money (or that's how it feels to me). All of the staff I've worked with have been compassionate and kind to me every step of the way so far. I feel heard and understood which makes this scary process bareable and even exciting. My procedure date is still a few weeks out, so I will update my review post-op. But my experience so far has been great and I would recommend Dr. Moore and Star Dental to anyone.

This company is great. I needed new full dentures as mine were worn out. I made appointment and in 1 day I had new dentures and a fixed smile. The last time I had dentures done it took 4 months. Had I known it was this easy, I would have done much sooner. Linda was awesome. Extremely professional and kind, she made all and fitted everything and they fit better than any of my previous dentures in 30 years. For the first time in 30 years put in and no issues. Thank You Star Dental and Linda.

They were a little late getting me into surgery because of the surgery before me.Amazing group of people. Love the look.

Dr Moore and his Staff are awesome! I just love Netty she is so honest and thorough. The prices are so reasonable I have been trying to get a single implant for a while and their pricing is ½ of most of the other estimates I have gotten. Great People!

***Update*** I have been coming to STAR ⭐️🌟⭐️ Dental since 2016, and the care they provide is exemplary. I simply will not go anywhere else! Dr. Moore and staff provide fiscally responsible, modern solutions to their patients, while Stuart McG will ALWAYS work to find a solution for you from the Business Office aspect.

I love my new snap-ins! Denture stabilization is the only way to go and STAR Dental Institute is AMAZING!

Great place to go and they take excellent care of me, not to mention I LOVE my dentures!
