I am unable to respond to Dr. Strout’s comment directly, so I am editing my original post. I am very much a former customer at your facility and am not “just being mean”. I went by my maiden name when I was at your office and do not wish to give any more private details on the internet as I am sure medical professionals can understand. Every word I wrote was true. I understand that insurance is frustrating and confusing; however, your office staff told me they “could call my insurance to find out the exact cost, but that takes up a lot of time”. I now have a dentist that has an excellent manager who says she never wants patients to have surprise bills and tells us the price of everything up front and if they ever do make a mistake THEY will eat the cost, not the patient. $700 may be change to Doctors, but it is a lot of money for regular people. It can mean the difference between buying groceries or risking collections/bad credit. Doctors want to be treated like big business in this country so reviews are a part of this process. Do not go here, they are serious crooks!!! They gave me and my husband an estimate for $130 and then charged us $678!!!! Be aware, this is a new scam that Doctor’s offices are doing in order to maximize profits. I asked how such a huge descrepancy can happen and I was told that they “could call my insurance and ask for a pre authorization with a more exact estimate but they don’t do that” in other words they could avoid aggravating patients and give them a better estimate, but they’re just too lazy to call insurance companies?! They low ball your estimate and then you’re obligated to pay whatever they end up charging you, no matter how high the costs! The front desk lady handled all of this. She is NOT a manger and told me their location doesn’t have a manger, how unprofessional is that? The “person in charge” is the owner, Dr Strout But I cant talk to him!?? I’m sure they don’t want him see this mistake they made! No office manager means they want to cut corners, again to maximize profits!!! I asked for an itemized bill and saw they charged me for the same service three times!! The front desk lady took off the double charges and did not even apologize for this mistake instead she immediately asked about when I’ll pay for all this; ha! I told her to send me the corrected bill and I’ll look it over and then will give them a call and she sounded very annoyed by this and said ok and hung up on me! The fleming Island location I used to go to also used to low ball charges and then send me a bill two to three times higher than their estimate which is why I switched but this location isn’t any better!!

Scammers ...Scammers...Stay away.
I went there for a cleaning. Hygienist insisted that they want to take x-rays before the cleaning. I told her that all I needed was a cleaning and I would ask my previous dental office to send all the xrays (since i already took the xrays). Then, she went to the doctor and the doctor stated that, "There is a law that requires xrays before the cleaning.." and they refused to clean my teeth. I wasted my time.

I refuse to find a new dentist closer to me because I absolutely love this office. Thank you all for always taking such good care of my teeth. ☺️

From the moment i walked in the staff was very professional and treated me as if i was a member of the family. Business was conducted in a timely manner and they informed me upfront about all charges and what was going to be billed to my insurance company. Plus for anyone that does not have insurance Orange Park center for Dental Excellance has a special deal" Basic teeth cleaning for 29 dollars out the door. I would recommed this place to anyone

We went in for a second opinion and we have found our new dentist!!! Honest dentistry!!! If your looking for an honest opinion and polite dental office then this is your dentist!!!!

Erika was amazing! Best cleaning I have ever had. She too her time to explain and make sure I understand everything that was going on.

This office makes me enjoy going to the dentist(I hate the dentist.) Dr. Strout & Arti make it very painless and take care of everything I need. They provide excellent service and make me feel comfortable every single time. Arti is very professional and does an amazing job on my cleanings! This office is the best!

Very friendly staff. Knowledgeable and conservative dentist that saw my 11 year old without recommending unnecessary treatment.

Atmosphere is super friendly. Everyone from the dentist to the hygienist and the desk clerk was happy and efficient at doing their job. Definitely a great office!
