Great Hill Dental - Somerville

I have been extremely satisfied with every aspect of my interactions with Great Hill Dental over the last approximately five years. Most highly recommended. Everyone seems to genuinely care about the patients. Dr. Michalowski a.k.a. "Dr. M" is the best dentist I've ever met.

I had my first appointment at the Great Hill Dental Somerville office today and it was wonderful. Kim Le did a fantastic job cleaning my teeth and Dr Peter really helped explain a dental issue clearly; everyone was really nice! I'm looking forward to my follow up appointments and would definitely recommend going here.

This was the worst dental experience I have ever experienced! I would not waste your money or time coming here, even for what should be a simple crown procedure. Three dentist in particular completely messed up my front tooth and gum, which is now costing me thousands of dollars to have it fixed at another dental office. This place deserves ZERO stars.

Consistently excellent dental care, kind, compassionate, and highly professional service from clinicians and administrative staff. My family and I have been patients in their practice since 1996.

Been going here for years - biannual cleanings only (knock wood, I’ve not yet needed anything more). They’re on time and efficient. No complaints!

My son had an appointment today and needed to have impressions taken for a new retainer. He has had these done twice before and really struggled with it. He suffers from anxiety and, like a lot of people, the dentist can be a very nerve-wracking experience especially when receiving a service that he doesn’t enjoy.

Eyrusalem took the impressions today and did an absolutely phenomenal job. She kept him calm and distracted and had so much patience with. Great Hill Dental always provides a great experience but this particular appointment was exceptional.

I always received great care, been provided detailed information about the treatment and helpful advice and directions about my dental health. Never had to wait around, providers are punctual.

I have a special needs son & the hygienist was amazing with him .

The dental professionals are wonderful at this practice, but unfortunately the billing and administration is horrific! We have especially had trouble with the orthodontics coordinator - insurance claims filed incorrectly, no follow-up, and erroneous invoicing. The orthodontics is a "traveling team" (outsourced from 42northdental.com) and therefore the front desk is not able to help with most issues and has very poor communication with both insurance companies and the orthodontics team that uses their own space! I have also gotten incorrect invoices for general dentistry there as well and the admins insisted we owed money when my insurance company said we owed nothing. I really like having all of our dental needs met in once space and the dentists are able to communicate a patient needs to one another well, but this administration stuff is just getting to be too much.

I have serious dentist phobias and after missing cleanings for 2 years, I was holding off my appointment as long as possible. After my great a appointment at the practice at Somerville, I realized there was no reason to miss my cleanings. They were polite, explained everything transparently, and very caring. I had some difficulty doing an xray with my small mouth so they took a digital pano which was way easier! John was my dentist. He performed my cleaning and told me what I needed to book next for fillings. Super nice and understanding of why I’d missed cleanings.

Aside from that, the office was very clean and they took all the steps to protect me and staff from COVID-19. My temperature was checked at the building entry and in the office’s entry and there was plenty of hand sanitizer. Dentists also wore PPE the whole time. I felt incredibly safe!
