Dr. said “raise your left hand if it hurts”and so 12yr old little brother did w/ pain and tears and the dentist wouldn’t stop to give the kid a break! Definitely both appointment seemed In a rush!
He said “open wider or I’ll send you down the street”
Now agreed my little brother wasn’t the easiest amount of work sometimes you have a more severe case and even then you have to be polite gentle and professional! He was none!
that dentist Arif Nazir is rude, rough and condescending even with me who was just quietly accompanying!
A shame all the nurses and staff assisting were very nice!

The front desk and support staff were great. The dentist (Nazir) appeared very rushed. He did not take the time to explain what he was going to do before he did it. I was told my left bottom wisdom tooth was infected and needed to be extracted. The procedure itself was difficult, I had to be numbed twice and it took about 20 minutes to get the tooth out. It felt very violent, lots of pushing and pulling and my jaw has never hurt so bad.
Immediately afterwards, they rush you out to the front desk to pay. I received no antibiotics. After a week of severe pain in my jaw, ear and neck i returned to see Dr. Nazir, who at first looked in my mouth and said everything was fine. I asked him why was I in such pain? He looked in my mouth again and said it was dry socket. He packed the area (without explaining anything), then rushed me out to the desk where i got a rx for an antibiotic and nothing for pain. I will not be back.

It was my first time here. I loved it. The staff were super friendly and very informative and reassure you that you will be comfortable and ok when you get an extraction done. They also take their time and triple checked to make sure that there isnt any concerning problems with your teeth.

I cancelled my appt after reading these reviews today which scared me, but Anna, who answered my call was very friendly and professional. I was turned off by the fact that they charge twice as much for nitrous oxide than Community Dental, which also takes MN care. And while there are plenty of good reviews as well... it is kind of a red flag when the one stars are equal to the 5 stars. As a dentalphobic, I cannot take that kind of gamble. Thank you to technology for letting us share our experiences and make informed decisions.

Wish I would've read the reviews before going in today. EVERYTHING I read is almost identical to how I felt getting my tooth extracted. I am in so much pain and they said to take Tylenol and ibuprofen and I will be fine. I was so scared going in but was in a lot of pain from my tooth and just wanted the pain to stop. I received not even antibiotics, nothing to actually help relieve some of the pain and the dentist, Nazir didn't even say goodbye or how do I feel...just got up and walked back to the other patient he had been hopping to and from while extracting my tooth. Before they started the both said to raise my left hand if I feel any pain, I raised it three times, while crying and said could feel it, that it hurts...he lied to me because he didn't numb it more, he just ignored me. I am terrified of the dentist because of an awful experience I had when I was younger and now I am even more terrified. When I got into my car I just cried because I felt so let down. My fiance was there and agreed with how I felt and seen it from his perspective. Terrible.

I would give this Dentist zero stars if I could. I was in for a couple cavities to be filled. Dr.Nazir rushed though my procedure so fast i was done in less than 30 minutes. Being the last appointment of the day I could feel they were hurrying to get me out of there. The hygienist took out all the trashes in the building while I was laying there waiting half way through the ordeal. My mouth completely numb they push me out the door and send me home. 3 hours later when I started to feel everything in my mouth I noticed I had two cavities that had the decay removed but were NEVER filled. I had two gaping holes in my teeth and one tooth they completely shaved flat. I was in so much pain consistently taking Ibuprofen 800 and Tylenol 1000. I called the dentist (after hours) and left a voicemail stating I needed a call back and to be seen immediately in the morning. The next morning I never received a call back. My mother spend 3 hours calling other dentists to get me in on emergency to fix what this horrible place did to my teeth. I got an appointment somewhere else and they confirmed that i had two teeth without fillings, they even said "I have never seen something like this before" and brought 5 other employees in to look, all astonished. I got ahold of Pro Dental 3 hours after them opening, with there supervisor telling me "if you need you can come here and we can give you some ibuprofen" She did not understand that her Doctor, left two teeth completely open and that i didnt need ibuprofen, i needed help, hours ago". Dr Nazir is sexist, belittling, rude and the worse dentist I have ever seen. I will never recommend this dentist and he has been reported to the MN Board of Dentistry. Please do not go here

Please Go Somewhere Else If You Can!!! I have severe dental anxiety. I came in supposedly to get a root canal and two fillings. I had another opinion and that dentist also stated my upper back molar needed a root canal. One Star is when the asst in barely English saying "Your insurance only covers silver, and if U don't get this silver filling u tooth will fall out" I said no way am I having a silver filling on a tooth you could see when I smile! Nazir came over and saw and did the composite on that tooth at no charge. Once in the chair, Dr. Nazir asked if I was ok and I told him I was very nervous and would like the gas for my treatment. The only thing out of his mouth was "That's not covered on your insurance you have to pay" I get it. I'm not low income 75 is on the higher end of what other dentist's charge, but I need this stuff to help me calm down, I will do anything to make this treatment easier. They kept telling me the gas is so high you should be relaxed, as I lay there feeling the same. The tank was empty. They made me feel like I was stupid for not feeling relaxed...So no I am not going crazy or lying all I am breathing is oxygen nimwits, so she put the gas on me and was assisting the doctor, but didn't even bother to see if the tank was filled. Some of the worst parts of dental work to me is the shots and I was not relaxed bc of the inability of an assistant to see if there was gas in the tank before starting, tears were already flooding down my cheek. The teeth he was working on was the far back molar and pre molar and the tooth next to the canine. I was finally relaxed at this point, and all I could smell was the burning tooth, I have never smelt that before in my life and was awful. I will admit it is hard for me to keep my mouth open very wide during dental work, but it's not like I am doing it on purpose. The doctor was very rude and asked me "What do you expect me to help you if you don't keep your mouth open do we need to put a bite plate in your mouth?" Very condescending! And I asked him why he was being so rude and he quickly apologized and continued. As the procedure went on, I had a piece of tooth or filling in my mouth, and started to gag, the doctor signaled to the assistant to suction it out, as I am starting to panic because it's going down the back of my throat, she takes her time getting the suction, and by the time she got it in my mouth; I swallowed whatever it was. I sat straight up and was upset, and the doctor had the nerve to lie to my face and tell me I didn't swallow anything, as it is still in the back of my throat going down. So after the procedure he informs me that he did not do the root canal only did a deep filling close to the nerve and if I have more trouble with that tooth I need to come back in to get the root canal. Are you f ing kidding me right now!!?!? I came in to just get the root canal out of the way and now you are telling me I am 90 percent going to need to have the root canal afterall? I am completely disgusted with the practice of this place, it seems that all they want is money, because upon further research the crappy insurance I do have does not cover root canals so he wouldn't have gotten paid. I am already having pain, and I can tell you where I won't be going back to! This place!!! 5th Ave Dentistry in Anoka are so gentle and understanding and don't want your money! I will be willing to put all my dental work on my credit card to be able to go to 5 th ave dental instead of paying nothing and going back to this chop shop of dentists. I would love for the manager of the clinic to contact me and further discuss my horrible experience with her. This is why I hate going to the dentist, finding idiots like these. If you CAN go somewhere else and have private insurance... please do!!! Don't waste your time with a dentist that could care less about the human being in his chair and more about the money and number that human being really is to him. Shame on you!! The stars I did give are for the front office staff as they are highly accommodating and friendly.

Brought my niece last Thursday for an extraction. She is also a vulnerable adult. She has a hard time with the dentist and Dr. Nasir was not very kind or understanding. Fast forward to today I bring her back because of major swelling and pain with my grandson as our babysitter had a stroke last weds so not many options for help. He basically said deal with it...I have alot more to address but that's the start.

UPDATE: two fillings have failed already. One fell out completely and the dentist I went to was shocked that it popped out after five months. Another filling was chipping away because it wasn't properly bonded. SOOO, say no to ProDental. There are other great dentists.
Update: After I came in with pain after the extraction and he told me nothing was wrong, I went with my gut and visited another dentist (and paid out of pocket for an x-ray and an exam). Turns out there WAS an infection and some of the infected root was still in there.
UPDATE: this guy's manners need a check. When I came in a few weeks later and wanted to know more about having a tooth pulled, he called me paranoid and after asking what I did for a living, he implied that I had nothing better to do. I came in a few days after the extraction with horrible pain and he literally poked around in the gaping hole with the end of a wooden stick, no pain medication, just digging. At this point, the only positive thing I can say for this place is that the staff are great. Front desk Dawn is so nice and helpful and rest of the ladies that work there are phenomenal.
Original review: Overall a positive experience. I went to this practice initially because they take payment for white filings not covered by my insurance (something every other dentist in my area I contacted does not do). The price they quoted was very reasonable and since we paid cash same day, we were given a 15% discount plus a $100 credit. The office is clean and the staff quite friendly. They were perhaps a bit understaffed the day I came in, and running a few minutes behind. Dr. Nazir is very professional. Both he and the dental hygienist were careful and made sure I was comfortable. I had six fillings in one day and I am beyond pleased with the results. The only negative that I can say is that I was not told I had to apply for the credit program (Care Credit) they use either online or over the phone before the appointment until I came in for my fillings which is why we decided to pay full amount same day. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone who asked.

Dr. Nazir and ALL the staff, (dental assistants, hygienists, etc), are absolutely incredible! Extremely professional, understanding and outstanding. I am a new patient of theirs and Dr. Nazir has been practicing dentistry for 25 years. Prior bad reviews were due to staff ONLY by what I have read here. Those staff members have been fired. Their current staff is amazing! I would highly recommend Pro Dental in Blaine. I've had very bad experiences with prior dentists along with high anxiety regarding any dental work done on my teeth. They are so sympathetic to that issue with me. I am 50 yrs old and this is the first (and last!) dentist where I actually left there feeling completely satisfied and grateful to have found such professional dental care!
