Went in today for a consultation because the dentist I saw about a month ago said it'd have to be surgically removed. Well, I won't be seeing that dentist again. From the x-rays to the lady working with my insurance company to Dr. Ball taking my tooth out the service was stellar. I will definitely be going back for all my dental services.

Terrible... they wanted to charge me $400 for a cleaning and that was with my insurance! The cleaning was the worst i have ever had... My mouth in places is so numb that my jaw hangs weird!!! I cant speak... They also wanted to take 4 hours for a check up and a cleaning. All they want to do is upsell!

Absolutely the best experience could have ask,for with getting 2 teeth pulled, they explained everything flawlessly, talked me through the whole process, the procedure was fast. (If I could give no stars, I would. Really awful experience. Doctors and assistants are brand new and don't know what they're doing).

I went to Parkville Modern Dentistry about 2 years ago now. It was new and in a convenient location (very close to where I live). I hadn't been to the dentist in years, having moved away for college, and knew that I most likely had a cavity or two that needed to be addressed.

Just like all dentists will do, they took xrays of my mouth at the first visit. Number one, they took a TON of xrays. Insurance only covered about 1/4 of them. Secondly, I have never ever had such a painful experience when taking xrays. This office boasts of modern & new technology, which is great. But they use digital xrays which means they fix the mouth piece to an arm that connects to the computer. I am petite person and likewise have a petite mouth, but I am by no means unusually small. The mouth pieces they used did not fit. Half of the time they were stabbing me in the cheek or gums, and often made me feel like I was gagging. Again, because they took a TON of xrays, this painful process took forever. They continued to clean and check my teeth, and like another reviewer mentioned - they really tell you that you need a lot done.

They determined that I needed a few cavities filled, which I was previously fairly certain about myself. So we setup a follow-up appointment for that.

After my first visit, I got the bill in the mail for what my insurance wouldn't cover. THEY CHARGED ME $60 FOR "HYGIENE INSTRUCTION"! They didn't give me any more instruction that any dentist ever has, just the basic: remember to brush & floss your teeth. ((It only keeps getting worse - way worse)).

I went in to get my cavities filled. They said I needed a root canal on one. I hadn't been to the dentist in years, so I decided to trust them, despite that I couldn't ever remember having any pain in that tooth. They have a machine to that will create a tooth cap. The machine creates it in about 30 minutes. They then glue it in to your mouth. The root canal was done on a left molar. It fit great on the left side, but the right side of my mouth wouldn't close. I decided to go home and give it a chance to see if it was just from the discomfort of having work done on my mouth. But I couldn't chew anything on the right side of my mouth because my teeth couldn't touch. I called and went in early the next morning. They were baffled. Like completely didn't believe me and had no idea how that could happen. They ended up having to sand down the root canal cap that they put into place - until they nearly sanded through the cap. I can feel part of my actual tooth in one spot because they sanded all the way through. Whats also great? They told me that part of the titanium file they used in the root canal procedure, broke off and they were unable to remove it. So, it's still in my tooth. It hasn't given me any trouble, but it also should have never happened.

In that same early morning visit where I had them sand down the cap so that I could actually chew, I also informed them that the cavity filling caps had come off. I could feel tiny holes in my teeth. (I thought the cavity fillings had fallen out altogether, but they said it was just the cavity filling caps that go on top). So they re-did those as well.

And then - I never went back.

Terrible, terrible experience. The assistants had no idea how to hold the suction tube - they were stabbing me in the cheek or the gums with it, while the doc was in my mouth. And it wouldn't suck up the water because the tube was nowhere near where it needed to be. It was obvious from the very beginning that the doctors and the assistants are BRAND new. They don't know what they're doing, and they're doing whatever they can to charge more (more xrays than needed, charging for Hygiene Instruction?!, and a Root Canal that anymore I'm not really sure I needed). If you need a basic cleaning, you're probably fine. If you need actual work done, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Love this place. Some of the best Dentist in the Northland. Very comfortable atmosphere and you can also get crowns done the same day. NEVER HEARD THAT ONE BEFORE LOL I never did enjoy the dentist but now that I'm a 41 year old man, I feel absolutely comfortable here.
