Perfect Teeth - Alice

I have been a patient of yours for many years. I have to say that when I was seen by a different dentist new to your practice that both myself and my wife were told that we both needed an expensive inlay on the same day. I have since been seen by my original dentist and both my wife and I don't need this work done. So beware of work being suggested that may not need to be done. Staff is friendly, and courteous.

Appointment started a little late but they finished quickly and the staff were all really pleasant. I've never had any issues with this office. Pretty straightforward really--they get the job done and they have smiles on their faces!

I went in for my 6 month cleaning. The staff is always very courteous and kind. The dentist was out of town, so I didn't get a full exam because he wasn't there... That's why I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

First of all I'm not one to complain about a business through surveys or other type of reviews. Typically, if I have bad service or am treated poorly I just don't go back. In this case because of the severity of the service I felt obligated to write this review and let other people know. I went to the dentist about a week ago for my routine cleaning. As always, the dentist came in for the follow up consultation. I had never seen this dentist before. Dr. Nick was how he was presented to me by the hygienist. I would've expected an introduction or something resembling one. This was the worst experience I've ever had with a dentist. HIs beside manner was horrible. He barely said hello and then proceeded to tell me I had 2 cavities which was a surprise since I had regularly seen a dentist for years and had no problems. He also told me that I needed some extensive work to replace a tooth that had been pulled over 20 years ago.
He scolded me for not doing something about it. I've had no problems in the 20 years since it's been gone. He then asked me how much money I had. Another surprise and very very unprofessional. I first wondered why he asked this question. I feel it was his deceitful way of trying to see how much money he could get out of me. He said there were 3 options to fix the alleged problem with my missing tooth. The scolding continued as to why I hadn't done anything with the tooth. I felt like it was a used car salesman trying to sell me a car that I didn't want. I then asked him if we were going to do the cavities now and said in a very rude tone "No you were over the allotted time that was given to you." I said ok. He said we would probably have to do it in 2 different appointments. I asked him if we could do it all at once because I have vasovagal needle phobia and didn't want to have to do it twice. Again, in a very condescending voice, he made me feel like something was wrong with me because I had this condition.There was no understanding or compassion at all. At this point, all I wanted to do was get out of there. He told me he would work up an estimate for all of the work and let me schedule it up front. I thought it was interesting when he met me up front and said "you have really good insurance."
After this horrible experience there was no way I was going to trust his opinion. I ended up getting another opinion. They confirmed what I thought. No cavities and no further dental work needed at this time. This dentist should not be allowed to practice dentistry. I am appalled by his unprofessionalism,deceitfulness, and horrible bedside manner. I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy.

I feel great!! What better can be said a day after having a molar extracted?! Admittedly, the personnel at the Alice location have changed. We’ll all miss Dr. Diana Zimmer. However, I can highly recommend the newcomer, Alex Goude, DDS. Dr. Goude was the professional who extracted that cracked molar yesterday. He exudes a quiet confidence. Dr. Goude has good help. I wrote 9-10 months ago about the “pleasure to have the exceptional experience in the Perfect Teeth head orthodontic specialist in the name of Michelle. She was “Johnny-on-the-spot” with her special skills and just the “right part” at the right time.” Well, it was Michelle who assisted Dr. Goude with my molar extraction yesterday. She is uniquely and simultaneously a powerful and gentle soul. I reiterate; Michelle has great dental experience. I would be remiss if I did not mention dental technician, Nyeli, and Operations Manager, Crystal. As a final note, my wife and I joined the Perfect Teeth insurance plan, for a very reasonable annual sum, that came in awfully handy with my surprise dental work over the past year. Thanks to the team at Perfect Teeth Alice.

#AMAZING Dr Schneider was exactly what i needed. I was out of town working at the AFB and my gold crown fell out!!! I was like "oh NO what do i do" i called and they got me in 7am the next morning. Delightful staff. Professional driven assistants and really friendly dentist. I am super particular who works in my teeth but a flight hime to MARYLAND was just not an option . So lucky i found her. Very particular. Pays attention. Amanda has the attitude of "take the time and get it done RIGHT" I LOVED MY EXPERIENCE AT THE DENTIST.... who really gets to say that ??? THANKYOU

INFORMATIVE BUT LENGTHY WITH REVISION:

I was about to book an appointment, in another state, with my previous dentist because of how bad the situation was at Perfect Teeth.

HOWEVER corporate saw my compliant and not a day later they responded via Heidi, the new manager as of March-ish(?), so corporate is watching out for the company's best interest.

AND Heidi followed up. She was able to transfer the x-rays and other issues. Heidi was brought in to fix some of the issues with the current staff and it's given me hope for Perfect teeth after some not-so-reassuring communications.

AND the office staff is getting much needed training.

PRO vs CON OVERALL:
I chose this place originally BECAUSE of the overall good reviews. I'm not the type to get mad at anyone but I was furious for a while because of the way things were ORIGINALLY handled, but I think things are changing.

And while I had to write a bad review to get to the bottom of my issue. It's likely that you won't have to with the changes they are making. They are making positive changes, and they are making an effort, so take that as you will, but I'm willing to give them one final fresh start and I'll let you know how it goes.

ORIGINAL COMPLAINTS:
"Originally I had given this place one star after
A) a series of overly complicated and unfortunate emails/calls with the office staff with trying to send xrays from a previous dentist, (FIXED)
B) getting spam, (FIXED? time will tell)
C) and overbooking a hygienist, Phil, so that he didn't have a lunch. (HOPEFULLY FIXED)

But the hygienist, Phil was very good at his job."

My last call to them had been. "I'm canceling, you haven't resolved my issues." and the main receptionist, not the manager said "okay." My response was "okay, guess I'll go somewhere else" and that was the end of the call. So if you have an issue be sure to ask for Heidi as I wouldn't trust the competence of the other staff members yet until they receive their training. Use your best judgement to see if they have learned anything come this July/August.

Lastly this site did not provide any type of dental goodies.
(This does not reflect my review, but some other said they did receive "teeth cleaning goodies" for their "bottom retainer" which makes them inconsistent)

TO CORPORATE / HEIDI: Follow up in early December and I will change my review for the better AGAIN if this process has indeed gotten better and the TEAM is more unified.
