After reading reviews I feel that I had similar experience and feel compelled to share with other people that are contemplating coming here. I use to come here in the past & had no issues, but that’s been 3 years ago. When I booked my apt , they told me even though I had been there in the past that they would have to set me up as a new patient due to it being 3 years. I agreed, not thinking this visit would be much different to the first time I came here. I came in expecting a normal visit, which for me normally went x-rays, cleaning, then dentist comes in.. They did the x-rays, but instead of cleaning my teeth first, Dr Tran (dentist) came in. She’s nice & I have no complaints about her at all. The x-ray tech & her both told me how beautiful my teeth were and how well I took care of them. I had no cavities, and mind you I haven’t been to dentist in 3 years. I was then waiting for my cleaning (which is main reason I came in for). I was told that the hygienist would come in to examine what kind of cleaning I needed, then I would have to schedule to come in for that. Never have I ever went to dentist & them not clean my teeth while I was there , so I thought that was super weird. Hygienist came in & he was like “well your x-rays show some plaque build up & since it’s been a few years we should do an intermediate cleaning to catchup”. My gut is automatically telling me this is a $ thing. He then made a comment that usually for that cleaning they numb, but since mine isn’t that bad that he can just use topical numbing that would last 20 min. So basically admitting its not that severe.I have never had to be numbed for a cleaning either, so that was a huge red flag for me. Considering I was just praised by the dentist how well I took care of my teeth & had no cavities , but then this guy is suggesting to numb me for a cleaning bc my plaque is so bad? I am not saying I don’t have plaque build up bc I know it’s been a few years, but a regular cleaning should have been fine. Even the x-ray tech said to him “oh she just needs regular cleaning right”, since she just spent the last 15 min looking in my mouth. In my opinion this is strictly him using my 3 year absence as a way to justify I need an upgraded cleaning to get more money. When I went to check out I made sure to ask receptionist if this “intermediate” cleaning was covered 100% by my insurance, which she then states I would have to pay $75+ bc my insurance only covered a normal cleaning. I then ask if can just book for normal cleaning as I don’t want to pay for an upgraded cleaning, which she then responds no & I would have to do the cleaning he recommended (shocker). I then tell her I will book my cleaning with someone else. I find it absolutely ridiculous that they won’t perform what my insurance covers, it should be my choice if I want to opt in for the “upgrade” that I have to pay out of pocket for. Very disappointed!

I would give no stars I took off work to bring my daughter for an appointment today get here they will not see here because she doesn’t have actual insurance card !! I spoke to someone when I made the appointment and was told it’s fine get have the insurance number which I did and it’s Active and working! Was told it wouldn’t be an issue!! But I just took off work to be at this appointment at 8am just to find out that I was told the wrong information! Friendly dental needs to train their staff properly so stuff like this doesn’t happen! My daughter is in pain from a toothache and I’ve tooling off of work just to be told she can’t be seen without the card which if I would have known I would got it before today appointment!!! My daughter was Referral from her Pediatric dentist that has sent over all my child information! This unprofessional and waste of my time

Honestly the whole staff was amazing. I am Terrified of going to the dentist and every single person there including Ruben and Dr Castillo were great! The hygienist and assistant were also super gentle and nice, I just didn’t get their names. Everyone made me feel welcome and were super gentle knowing how much I hate getting dental work done. This is my new dentist office for myself and whole family going forward. Thank you guys for being so nice and understanding!

First, beware of 5 star reviews that have only ever given one review- sure sign they are be written fraudulently. Shame on me for only looking at the overall number initially.
Unlike other reviewers, I actually liked Dr. Tran at our initial visit. They recommended a deep cleaning (which I knew I was due for) and said I had 4 cavities-this was a head scratcher as I had just seen my dentist of 20 years in Texas within last 6 months and he didn't say anything about any cavities. I move forward as this place takes both my bf and my insurance and we come together- basically convenience.
Came today for my first service. Started deep cleaning and they wanted to numb me...I've had deep cleaning for at least 10 years and have only been numbed a couple times, after lapses in insurance and bad plaque. I've had a deep cleaning within last 6 months, this is only maintenance, it shouldn't be necessary (think $). Now I'm thinking maybe I don't have 4 cavities and this place's main priority is dollars not their patients. I decline numbing; hygienist is annoyed, so am I. Next he busts out power tools...way to powerful without numbing, so I get numbed. You know when you go to the nail salon and they use power tools, even though it ruins your nail bed because it's faster than using hand tools? This is what I'm contemplating now...wondering if his tools are going to ruin my teeth..
He started deep cleaning at 9:38, 10 minutes power tools, followed by 10 minutes of hand tools. 20 MINUTE DEEP CLEANING!! The deep cleaning does NOT include teeth polishing or fluoride, another first.
I move into another room for fillings. My woman's intuition is saying LEAVE, but my mind is talking my intuition out of it. (you're already here...you're already halfway numb) They come in to give me a boost of numbing and the new assistant goes to suction my mouth out...says open your mouth and double slaps/taps my face at the same time...not hard but for attention, but unnecessary, completely. I can hear, I was responding to his verbal command, there was no reason for him to put his hands on my face like that. This was the last straw. I got out of the chair and forfeited the rest of my visit.
Our son had come in for his initial visit while my bf and I were getting his first service. He was told he had 9 cavities.
Obviously, none of us will be returning. I will update this review after our next dentist visit and let everyone know if we were being scammed with imaginary cavities as the other reviewers experienced.

Friendly Dental explained to me in April 2021, that I had 8 cavities. They were to clean my teeth and fill 4 cavities in the first appt and the remaining 4 in the next appt. I went through with the cleaning. I stopped the treatment after the numbing shot to my gums and left.

I went to a new dentist in 1.2022. I was told I have no cavities to fill. I have perfect teeth.

Please do not go to this dentist. They are a drill and fill operation that is looking to maximize on your in-network insurance.
