Stansell Dentistry Associates

It took me a while to find a dentist office I really liked, but this place has won me over! The staff is so wonderful. I've had some bad experiences with past providers trying to recommend procedures that were painful, expensive, and not necessary. Stansell Dentistry quickly reset my expectations when I started going here and I feel I can always trust them!

Everyone was professional and pleasant. Lauren went out of her way to walk through my dental insurance to ensure I clearly understood the process. Great experience.

I have been doing to this dentist office for several years now, the staff is always so polite and knowledgeable, especially hygienist Blair H and dr Stansell herself. They take the anxiety away from going to the dentist!

Never had a worry going to Stansell during Covid. They do a great job keeping everyone safe.
Had my cleaning done by Lauren who is an excellent Hygienist. The office staff and doctors are caring. I am so happy I found Stansell Dentistry.

Originally went to this shop because I discovered a cavity in my rearmost upper right molar.

Two hygienists confirmed with me that it looked to be a cavity - including on x-rays. Mrs. Yu rolls through, spends a moment taking a look, claims it's just some plaque and recommends a cleaning. Sure - I can stick my fingernail in it and feel the dentin, but let's buy a cleaning. I buy a cleaning.

They try to charge me for the short notice exam on top of the cleaning - double charging, effectively. Fortunately, the receptionist/billing specialist removes the delta so I'm not being charged an extra $100.

Few months later, book that filling and one minor one on the opposite side. Halfway through filling that first cavity I'd noticed, Mrs. Yu hops out of her seat to take a call from the office phone. During both fillings, I feel the bit bouncing off neighboring teeth and *mention it* - she asks if I'm feeling "weird sensations". I pointedly as possible, with a numb face, tell her to be careful. Anyway, she overfilled the minor cavity and had to grind it down. Told me to call if it needed adjustment.

Good news: the smaller filling didn't need adjustment. Bad news: the original cavity, the one that was large enough to actually be painful?, well, she only filled about a third of it. I can still wedge my fingernail in it.

I'll be calling back tomorrow to get it fixed. Not gonna lie, I'm a little irritated not only with the original treatment by Mrs. Yu but also the eventual service provided. Not exactly premium. I expect to have this remedied at no cost.

I have been a patient with this office for some time. I have always received great care from all the staff. Everyone has always been very friendly and welcoming.
I recently had to move to Baton Rouge and I needed to transfer my Invisalign treatment. There was some miscommunication between me and the office about this transfer, which left me very frustrated. Dr. Stansell gave me a call- explained the process and offered to help me, so the transition can happen smoothly. She took a rather frustrating experience and helped me feel at ease. You don’t always find such great service and care for patents everywhere. I really enjoyed my experience here. I was very sad to leave them. Great place!

I used to love this place when I first started coming here but the vibe has since changed. Everyone is very friendly and they used to have netflix available or music for your cleanings but that wasn't an option the last couple of visits so I don't know what's going on there but it was a selling point for me. I'm not a fan of the design of the cleaning rooms either (I'm sure you can find pictures online). They leave my back turned to the hallway (no doors) and I just don't like that. I'm sure most people don't mind.

During one visit I was quoted a price for the work that would be done and afterwards was given another price that was nearly double. They said that even though it says it's covered insurance companies never pay for that so I'm not sure why they didn't say that prior before the work had already been done. I understand this kind of stuff happens anywhere so I'm not too upset by that.

I had gone to them for years for cleanings and usually Dr. Stansell would show up at the end and very kindly explain a few things to me. She's very nice. She's comforting and has wonderful "bedside manner." I was a little upset that the first time I actually needed to get work done (some pretty serious fillings) someone who I have never seen performed the procedure. I suppose I could have asked for Stansell and maybe made another appointment but I was not told prior that she wouldn't be doing the procedure and I was looking forward to having her do the work. I trusted her and have been going there for years. She was the only doctor there I knew. I have needed this work done for a long time and decided to put my trust into this new person I've never seen before.

He did a fine job I guess although I didn't like how he had a lack of confidence that the fillings would take (they did but my teeth are sensitive from time to time). I've decided that some of these reviews vibe with my own feelings about this office which is one of the reasons I've decided to change dentists. Another reason is the proximity of the office from where I live. There are many other choices in between.

This office was fantastic. I felt like I was well taken care of, everyone was so lovely, and everything was broken down and explained very well. I’m not one who typically enjoys going to the dentist and I feel like I had one of the most pleasant and relaxing experiences. I would recommend this office to all of my friends.

Since moving from Maryland to North Carolina, I was nervous about seeing a new dentist. Let me tell you, I have been here 4 times and every experience is pleasant. They listen to you, make sure you’re comfortable, and have the nicest dental office I have seen. I highly recommend!

I was recommended to Stansell through a colleague of mine and I was not let down! Stansell is by far one of the best practices I've ever been to! They are professional, personable and punctual. Jen my hygienist is absolutely amazing! She makes my appointments very enjoyable and easy. The staff there are all friendly and awesome. Courtney and Ally are also amazing hygienist that always have a smile on their face to welcome anyone, even if you're not their assigned patient. I would recommend Stansell Dentistry associates to those around the area looking for a great place to go for dental work!
