My dentist is one of the best ones Iβve ever seen. He is so friendly and very knowledgeable. The whole practice is run in a very efficient and affordable way. But unlike some of the most efficient places, it does not feel at all cold or clinical. They are quite friendly, and they are very good listeners.
I hated going to the dentist for decades and I no longer feel that way.

Our experience with Willamette Dental has been extremely frustrating. The hygienists are relatively friendly and they recommend a treatment and maintenance plan. Then, they don't have availability or expertise to carry out the plan. Your oral health deteriorates until next time you can get an appointment. Then, the hygienists act like it is your fault for not following through with the plan.
There are 6 individuals on my Dental plan. Willamette Dental has fitted several fillings for us. Most of the fillings fell out and had to be re-fitted within a year or two. Almost half of the visits we made to Willamette Dental have been to repair failed work they have already done at least once before.
Additionally, when we chose Willamette Dental we knew we needed some specialized dental work and the website advertised they provided that service. We were later informed they no longer provide that service and we were referred to another orthodontist. Now, when we are halfway through the process with the other orthodontist, Willamette Dental claims they have started providing that service again and they will no longer approve referrals to continue the process with the outside provider.

Dr. Tolmach was the dentist who helped me. She is great and has always delivered the best dental care possible. She truly cares about her patients. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a dentist. Also the entire dental staff is super nice and professional as well.

Always had great experiences with Willamette Dental and Dr. Gil! Unfortunately I have new insurance now that doesn't work with them so I have to find a new dentist, but I used Willamette Dental's services from 2017-2021 and they were amazing! Mostly went in for routine teeth cleanings, but I had a few fillings during that time as well and everything always went really great. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, non-judgmental and really supportive. Bummed I can't go here anymore because of my new insurance honestly!

Went into the dentist and saw Eggertsson in November for clicking in my jaw and had the dentist recommend wearing a night guard and reviewed how to use over the counter ones. I also mentioned that my mom and sister had clicking in their jaw before getting their wisdom teeth removed, and was told not to worry about my wisdom teeth.
Skip to a week later, and my jaw is locked.
Skip to January when the physical therapy referral goes through. Weekly physical therapy, not covered by insurance.
Now we're at the end of March, went to the dentist again and saw Dr English...and guess what? I need my wisdom teeth out!
Literally thousands of dollars in physical therapy later, and it's exactly what my mom thought the issue was. Absolutely terrible and I can't switch dental clinics because my work insurance is only for Willamette denta
Update - I contacted member services as suggested and there is a review now that will take 30 days to complete. We will see what the outcome is.
Update #2: after waiting for my consultation with the specialty office with my wisdom teeth that was supposed to be today, they call me last night and cancel, say they won't see me, and are referring me out. To somewhere that is booked out over a month in advance. Why wasn't I referred there in the first place? This issue has been going since the end of November and now I still won't see someone that can help until end of May!

On previous appointments, staff was professional and service was quality. This most recent time, after a few years since Iβve last been there, front office staff was invalidating and chose not to problem solve. They lost my records and were demeaning toward my nearly adult daughter. It felt very ageist. It was a drastic difference from my last experience. The X-ray tech was great. She was the same staff as last time. Keep her! My hygienist talked a lot, to be helpful Iβm sure, but a no talking chair would be preferred. My doctor was professional and courteous. Dental service was on par with expectations.

Pretty bad experience all around .. it all started with the initial phone call to book appointment, I had never been and was a new patient and wasnβt sure which dr to choose , the lady on the phone booking suggested Dr Gil β because she is super cute and the only doctor thatβs not from another country β , I thought that statement was pretty unprofessional. So they booked me in and I got a appointment a few days later.
I had been really anxious about the appt and stated that when booking the appt. I have Had bad dental experiences in the past and had not been in 10 years to the dentist so the day appointment my anxiety was high. They did a few X-rays then brought me into the to exam room, where they took my blood pressure before they did anything , of course my blood pressure was high. The Dental assistant then told me she would have to speak to the dentist to see if I could be seen since my blood pressure was high. The dental assistant then comes back and states β Dr Gil does not feel comfortable seeing you because you have high blood pressure so you will need to get a medical clearance to be seen hereβ she was extremely cold , she basically made me feel like I had an infectious disease and that I needed to leave immediately. I found it super cold that the Dr Gil didnβt even feel comfortable coming in and talking to me because my blood pressure was high . It was high because of situational anxiety which I am sure others experience as well. I appreciated the concern of the blood pressure and I did check with my dr in regards ( mind you I am in my mid thirties )I however i will never go back to willamette dental or suggest them to anyone , especially my coworkers who have them as a option for dental insurance. They really need to work on professionalism and also a dentist that hides away and sends the hygienist as a messenger instead of actually talking to a patient that is nervous and worried tells a lot about there true character.

Get insurance through these guys and you won't be disappointed. They go above and beyond for their insurance carriers to make sure they are happy and have a healthy smile. If you end up not happy they will make it right. Would definatly recommend Willamette dental to anyone looking for quality service at an affordable price..

We originally went to this place because my son and I were patients and we never had complaints. They are a good office and get to know their patients.
Even though my son had Aspergers, they were able to work well with him and earn his trust.
So when my son started having problems with his jaw hurting we took him in to get X-rays and see if maybe something was wrong with his teeth. It was Dr. English at this office in Eugene who was honest with me and told me the X-rays showed nothing and that I should take him to his doctor for further examination, specifically to rule out cancer.
Well, say the deadly medical "C" word to a mother and my phone call to my son's doctor was made before I even left the office!
And you know what? She was right. It turned out to be a very fast acting cancer that, had Dr. English not sounded the alarm for me, would have gone on unchecked for longer and may have not been as easily treated with one set of 8 months of Chemo. He has been cancer-free now for 10 years.
I am forever in her debt for being able to be both professional and yet see things from a mother's perspective in order to give me the right information in the right way to be sure my child lived.
You will always have a special place in my heart for you Dr. English.

I have had such good experiences with this dental group. I used to be somewhat fearful of the dentist, but my experience here has helped me to move past it. They really empower patients to be a part of the care process.
