I took my son in for a cleaning. Prior to his cleaning they told me his exams would be $39.99 and his cleaning would be around $129. The dentist came in and evaluated his teeth and said they looked great! Then they brought me my “payment plan”, which was $339. I walked out.

I went in for a cleaning, and of course they had to take lots of X-rays, which was fine. I waited about 2 hours to see the dentist. I understand that it was a very busy day. The dentist was very polite. However, he proceeded to check my teeth and talk about what I needed. He made it clear that I needed a cleaning and needed to continue flossing in order to prevent “periodontitis”. He said that I would be fine and dismissed himself saying that a gum specialist would come in to “check on me”.
I was a little confused and had to ask the dental assistant what was going on and if I was still getting my cleaning done. She nodded and said I was just going to have a quick check up from a specialist. (I was not told prior to the appointment this would happen, and has never happened in any other dental clinics).
Long story short- the gum specialist said I had gum disease and needed treatment, so she played an information video about gum infection. It just so happens that two other patients in be cubicles next to me also had gum disease. The specialist left and a lady came in with the price for the treatment plan. My insurance covered most of it but I was expected to pay over $600 out of pocket. I explained that I was grateful and would look into it, but that I really just needed a cleaning at the moment. The lady went on to say that I could not get a cleaning done without agreeing to get treatment done first, supposedly due to insurance codes.
I felt like it was a scam to get the most out of the insurance’s money.
I was pretty disappointed. I spent over 2 hours and walked away without a cleaning, and feeling very disappointed.
I am currently waiting for an appointment at another private dental provider.

I have been a patient here for a couple years. This year I was in the chair and got not so good news. Julia worked on me this day as a dental assistant and turned my whole experience around. She had a way of making me feel better about myself and she pointed out all of the positive in the experience, not all the negative I was seeing. It ended up being a long appointment, way longer than usual (because I can be extra special that way). She stayed the whole time. She never made me feel like I was a burden although my teeth were making me feel that way. Julia stood out and when I went in next time- I saw her familiar face and she worked on me again and it wasn't nearly as scary.

Need a follow-up appointment after a family emergency, and the Manager felt like it was appropriate to speak to me like a child. Absolutely nasty! I was on the phone 20 minutes, then placed on hold 3 times, just for her to say we are busy I will call you back. Furthermore once I indicated I was still having pain after a procedure a month ago, she says I can be seen till next week. Since your that busy I will take my business somewhere my needs can be met. Ridiculous!

I loved it, everyone was very alert and attentive to my needs for visiting the clinic. Angie Dental Assistant was spectacular, very wonderful at making me feel welcomed and comfortable. She was very informative and super accomedating to assuring my experience was one I would be pleased with. Level of professionalism was impeccable. I definitely felt like my needs were being met in all areas. I was able to get a quick appt and all my questions and concerns were addressed. The Dentist was great at making me feel at ease. I overall loved it and will be returning in the near future.

Let me start by saying most of the staff is nice! This experience was just not up to par and could have been handled better. My appointment was at 3PM. I was taken back to get X-rays done at 3:20ish. Everything was great. The lovely lady took me to the area were I thought I would be getting my teeth cleaned. Instead the hygenist just measured my gums and then they told me the dentist would be in shortly. Not a problem. I waited about 30-45 minutes for the dentist to come look at my teeth. They did a great job keeping me posted on why I was having to wait. I have never had my teeth examined before my cleaning. It makes more sense that they clean my teeth first before they start telling me what he thinks is wrong, especially if he is running behind. After the exam and him telling me I needed a lot of work done, the X-ray lady comes in and asked if I still wanted to get my teeth cleaned. It has been an hour and half since my appt should have started. I asked politely if they could get it done by 5:30 which was an hour away. She checked with my hygenist who moved on to someone else already and agreed she could get it done. They rushed my cleaning. She was done in 5 minutes. The hygienist has been doing this for awhile so she could be that good but I haven’t had my teeth cleaned in 4 years so I’m pretty sure it should have taken a little longer. She then pushed up to the front to talk about my treatment plan which I feel was their main objective. Just get more money from me. I will not be going back unfortunately.

I have always had anxiety issues with going to the dentist, and after a traumatic experience about 10 years ago, my anxiety has developed into absolute fear. I had a dentist attempt to complete 3 root canals, and after breaking a drill off in 2 of the 3 teeth and beginning work on the 3rd tooth, the dentist then decided he should let me know of the situation and stop the procedure, sending me to an orthopedic surgeon to fix the problem. Explaining this to Dr Murry (or Murphy) and just like the other 2 molars, this one too will need to be pulled, same explanation I gave when making my appointment. He showed some empathy for my situation and then hearing of the health issues I have he agreed extraction was my only option. He informed me that a lady will come to explain the cost and he would be back after that. The lady who came to explain the fees begins by telling me to start antibiotics immediately and they should be able to get me an appointment for Monday. She went on to explain that my insurance doesn’t pay for the gas, which I expected but I know I would not be able to make it through the extraction without it. She then proceeds to explain my insurance also doesn’t cover bone graph, the cost for that is $676, but if I paid for some program they offer she could mark it down to $269. I explained I don’t need the bone graph just the tooth pulled, she states the Dr won’t pull the tooth without doing the bone graph and explained why. Ok I understand but that’s not something I can afford right now and I need the tooth pulled, it’s broken and I’m unable to eat solid food and haven’t for the last week or so, again this is the only reason I took off work and come in today. She replied again with the Dr will not pull the tooth without doing the bone graph. I explained that the Dr never mentioned anything about a bone graph or having to come back next week to have it pulled, he stated he would be back after you so we could get started. He did tell me about the antibiotics but not that I would need to take them a few days before he would pull the tooth and he never mentioned anything about a bone graph or any indication of a bone graph. She responded with he may have forgotten, I’m sorry excuse me? She states again he may have forgotten, if he has been working on a difficult case this morning with another patient, it’s possible that he just forgot to go over the need for a bone graph. Remember my anxiety changing into fear, I immediately became terrified and my fight or flight kicked in, I’m outta here. I don’t need a dentist that may forget to cover things with me in a conversation, that’s what got me into the situation I’m in now. Needless to say I left their office with the same teeth I went in with, missing a day of work and wasting my time. I’m sure Monarch Dental filed a claim with my insurance for the x-rays and consultation, I may have lost out, but Monarch Dental didn’t. I’m not paying for something I can’t afford and truly don’t have to have, and I’ll be damn if I’m going I be forced into doing so, just so someone else can make a profit. I wouldn’t recommend Monarch Dental to anyone and it concerns me that the lady who explained the fees, apparently thinks that the response of if the Dr has been working on a difficult case this morning, he just forgot to mention something as important as a bone graph. I wouldn’t want her to represent my company, honestly she wasn’t rude but she wasn’t friendly either she would benefit by taking a class or two in empathy and customer service. I assure you my concerns and needs as to the reason I was there, were not important or relevant to her in any way. Her tone, facial expressions, and demeanor relayed that information loud and clear.
I’m currently in search of a dentist that is able to assist me in what I actually need, where my concern and needs are their first priority, and won’t forget to cover important information regardless of how their day is going.

The dental hygienist Mary is great! She is always helpful and quick. She always makes sure that you have all of your questions answered by the time you leave. My entire family and I see her, and we love her!

The staff and dentist were all courteous and professional. My technician in particular - sorry, I don't remember her name - was especially good. Is the second or third time she has worked with me and she has a very gentle but thorough technique. My only issue is the confusing nature of this preliminary paperwork. I'd never seen this particular form before, and it left me very confused as too what exactly I was paying for. I ended up paying an amount much different (and lower - gotta love that) than what had been on the form. That's less important than the fact that
my teeth are in great shape, and again, the staff was great. Thanks!
