The Dentist On Skillman

I cannot say enough about Dr Wong and his crew. I've been going to them for years and have always had friendly experiences but today was so unexpected. 2 weeks ago I lost my home in the Dallas floods and of course my electric toothbrush floated away. When I left they had a new one waiting for me. They actually care about their patients and asked how I was. I could feel the love and support. Thank you!

Dr. Wong was incredible! First experience I've had in recent years where I felt like the dentist was honest with me and wasn't trying to sell me care I don't actually need. The level of service and care I received was excellent as well. If you're looking for an honest dentist who provides high-quality service, this is the place.

I have had major dentist anxiety my entire life. The pandemic was a perfect excuse to really avoid going to the dentist! I am glad I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Wong. Everyone was supportive and assured me that I wasn’t alone in avoiding dental care during the pandemic. The cleaning and care was compassionate, professional craftsmanship. I was in much better shape than I expected except for an unusually located and aggressive cavity that necessitated a root canal or possible extraction. Dr. Wong referred me to Dr. Garcia who was able to save the tooth with a long but painless procedure. I have never had such an amazingly pain-free root canal. This prepared the way for Dr. Garcia to deep clean, remove damaged gum tissue and create a crown. This was also pain-free. I have such admiration and respect for the care I have received and continue to receive.

I have had 6 fillings and 2 root canals with Dr. Wong. The work was excellent and I have not had any problems with any of his work for two years now.

Reasons I would recommend Dr. Wong.

1) He is an honorable person. He will not recommend unnecessary procedures to make a quick buck. If anything, he took a more conservative approach with me by initially trying a filling, and then when a root canal was deemed necessary, he applied the whole cost of my filling to the root canal procedure. You do not often find a dentist who is extremely fair with his financial billings. (I also did not have dental insurance at the time so this was a huge plus.)

2) He is a good dentist. Not all dentists are equal. They graduate and have ranks amongst their peers with differing technical abilities and capacity. As a doctorate holder in cell and molecular biology, in my opinion, Dr. Wong is the cream of the crop. Talking with him clearly demonstrates that his experience and knowledge base is vast, and most importantly, he is good with his hands. You can trust that any work he does is of the highest technical quality and that you will be hard pressed to find a dentist with better dexterity and capacity.

3) He is patient and will listen to you. I came to him in significant pain from neglected teeth. He was patient with all my questions, listened to my concerns and addressed them appropriately, and took the time to explain what is common practice and what concerns were real and which were likely not a problem. He also was able to fit me into his busy schedule when I needed an emergency procedure.

Overall, I would highly recommend Dr. Wong. He is not the cheapest option out there, but his prices are reasonable. Ultimately you get what you pay for, but in the case of Dr. Wong, you actually get a lot more. You can trust that he's not out to nickel and dime you, and you can trust that any work he does he will stand by. These things are hard to find nowadays. I have recently moved out of Dallas and hope to God I find someone like him again.

A wholesome Dentistry with that perfect Lakewood vibe you would expect! I was referred to Dr. Wong from a friend and have been extremely pleased with my visits. Walking in, I am greeted and instructed by the friendly staff. The waiting room has a modern finish with comfy seating and toys for the kiddos. I usually set appointments for my visits so I rarely have to sit and wait. Even my first walk-in was a breeze. Being seen was also just as painless. Knowledgeable staff that answers questions professionally, quick but not a rushed process, and then you're greeted by Dr. Wong himself. Right off the bat he is polite and welcoming, then he gets right to it by offering solutions to the problems I had, and then the options I am faced with. By no means did I feel pressured to make a decision, he gave me his professional advice and then we discussed the best approach. Throughout my procedure he would check in and ask how I was feeling, any pain? Nope. By the time I knew it he was done and I was being debriefed. Dr. Wong and the staff answered any questions I had and made sure I was taken care of before leaving. Overall great experience! I would definitely recommend "The Dentist on Skillman" to my friends and family!

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Wong for a few years now. Before finding this office, I visited multiple places to try and fix some bad dental work I had done elsewhere. Dr. Wong was the only one who was able to fix it for me. Not only that, but recently I was diagnosed with TMJD. My case is quite complicated; however, Dr. Wong and his staff are so flexible and accommodating to my needs. I highly recommend The Dentist On Skillman! Everyone is very knowledgeable and professional.

AMAZING! I can not say enough good things about this office! Dr. Wong and his staff are very personable and fun, making for a relaxing and enjoyable (yes, you are reading that correctly) dental visit. Dr. Wong offers you a treatment plan with what he feels has the highest priority and discusses with you what can wait. I have never felt pressured into doing any treatment nor have I felt like I was being rushed. He is more than happy to answer any and all of my questions. You can feel that family type atmosphere you can't get from those bigger chain offices, which is why my whole family comes here as well. The office is clean, sleek and modern. The staff is knowledgeable and professional. The Dentist on Skillman is without a doubt the best dental office I have ever been to!

Dr. Wong was excellent. Fantastic work, friendly and professional; however, dealing with their insurance/billing personnel was a complete nightmare! The absolute WORST experience I've ever had in dealing with a medical office in my entire life. My extremely poor experience with their billing/insurance staff has left a really unfavorable impression of this office and for that reason, I will never return back as a patient ever again.

UPDATE 10/28:
As I mentioned in my initial review, Dr. Wong's work and treatment was superb. If Lauren, the office manager, had shown the same level of professionalism as the doctor and the rest of his staff, my review would’ve undoubtedly been five stars.

My poor experience is not solely attributed to an insurance issue I had per se, but in how it was handled by the office manager. I have never been shown that level of disrespect and disregard in dealing with medical personnel in my life. No patient deserves that when we are already under an immense amount of stress.

I hope that the office manager will undergo patient/customer training and learn how to communicate with future patients respectfully and effectively.
