“1000/5 STARS”

I have grown up going to Stonehaven since I was a kid!

Dr. Moody would blow up a glove with his nose by placing it over his head. I miss Dr. Moody since his passing, he was the first person who made dentistry fun!!

However, Dr. Trevidi is kind, humble, and professional. He was compassionate when I was worried about my son. He answered all my questions!!

Dr. Neilson made time to treat me for a crown even though it wasn’t convenient. Dr. Neilson has a calming presence that is very comforting. His shots are by far the least painful I’ve ever had at any dental visit! I’ve had a lot of shots in my life from different people, haha. He really cared to make me feel comfortable.

The entire office staff is always welcoming. The front desk is engaged and proactive. Dental assistants have always been friendly, helpful, and knowledgable! I loved going to the dentist growing up. This is the place where my seed was planted for my love of dentistry.

Kalani, was the first hygienist that I felt truly cared, educated me on the connection of oral and overall health, and personalized our conversations by providing realistic ideas for goals to improve. He doesn’t shame and treats everyone like family. He shows empathy and really wants to help. He was the person who influenced me to improve my oral health. Without realizing it at the time, he was one of the people who inspired me to become a hygienist. I’m now graduated and a hygienist, but still go back for cleanings by alternating where I work and Stonehaven. If you want to better your oral health, visit kalani!

Dentistry can be a stressful field, yet this office has a stress free vibe for patients. This is an office that treats you like family. They show everyone kindness with professionalism!

Nicest dentist office I have ever been to! Everyone was incredibly kind, helpful, professional, and super willing to explain things to make sure you understand what is going on.

On a positive note: We have been coming here for about a decade now and everything had been going very well. We love the staff!

However, in January 2022 during a routine cleaning I was assigned a new dentist, one I had never seen before. I only had one cavity, but he also suggested I get fillings replaced in two of my other teeth. I agreed because I trusted him. In hindsight I believe I didn’t -need- to have those fillings replaced at all.

In one week (2 visits, for 1 filling that he turned into a badly-executed root canal and 2 filling replacements) he damaged two of my teeth, hit my trigeminal nerve with the needle and kept me in the chair so long that it exasperated my TMJ issues. When he saw my tears, after hitting my nerve with the needle, he remarked about how "sensitive" I was. He didn't even use topical anesthetic first.

It took a little over a year to repair all the damage. The teeth he did the replacement fillings on throbbed when I leaned over. They were constantly in pain and were so sensitive to being touched. I took large doses of Tylenol and Ibuprofen around the clock and used orajel and even rubbed icy hot or aspercreme on the outside of my jaw and cheek. I couldn't eat most foods for months. I had some of the worst pain I've ever had (because of the nerve damage) and it lasted for months and months. Excruciating.

Whenever I had an attack, the nerves and muscles in my mouth, jaw, face and head would seize up, and I would often end up on the floor of my bedroom, crying. These attacks lasted for hours. Sometimes half of my face looked like I had a stroke. The attacks happened nearly every day and would occur around the clock. When I was having one of these attacks, no pain meds would even touch it, I had to wait it out.

I had to go to a physical therapist for the nerve damage and TMJ issues, where I had to have dry needling done.

Two of the three teeth the new dentist worked on abscessed: On the tooth he did the (bad) root canal on, I had to have it extracted and have it replaced with an implant. Then I had to get a root canal plus a crown on the tooth he did the replacement filling on. I also had to have "root blocker" painted on my teeth to help with the nerve sensitivity.

In summary, to fix the mess, it took 13 months, CBD oil, a physical therapist, an endodontist and another dentist, my regular dentist, Dr. Neilsen. Not to mention a ton of money.

I hope people at the office understand when I say that I won't let my family be worked on by the dentist who did this to me. We will only see Dr. Nielsen. And now that I’ve had hopefully my last appointment to fix the damage, we may just leave Stonehaven all together.

Truly, I would have given a 5 star review had it not been for this last year. I also feel like I can't give a 1 star review for what happened, because Dr. Nielsen helped to fix so much of it. So, I settled on 2.5 or 2.

Missed a half day of work to come in for a toothache. They sat me in the chair and took and X-ray and had me wait for almost an hour just to come in and ask a bunch of way too many personal questions and then tell me they don’t have time today to fix the tooth today. But they had time to charge my card at the end and to make me wait around. Don’t waste your time or money because here. Unprofessional.
