Modern Dentistry PC

Thought this was a good dentist until they started telling me I needed some sort of work done every time I visited. They told me every time that it was an emergency also. Visited another dentist after the last time they told me I needed an emergency crown and they told me this was complete BS. They said some dentists (apparently this one) see how good your dental coverage is and try to give you unnecessary work just so they can make money off of you. Glad I noticed what was going on and got out of there.
On top of this it seems like their staff is always changing. Must be because some of them can't deal with how they rip off patients.

Would not recommend at all!

I was seen around a month ago, and I can honestly say I really liked the experience I had at modern dentistry. The staff are very kind and compassionate. My treating Dr. Asghar was very kind and explained all my dental needs to me without it being to much. I appreciate her and will definately send my friends over to this office. Also the dental assistants are amazing the try to comfort you as much as they can to make you feel at ease.

And the front desk staff is amazing thank you Diana and Jessica for making my experience a great one.

Modern Dentistry was by far, the best experience I have ever had at the dentist. They have found the perfect balance between building an atmosphere that feels modern, yet all the while maintaining the professionalism one would expect from a dentist office. My Dentist, Dr. Armistead was extremely attentive, professional, and knowledgeable as were his staff; Matt, Tara, and Amy. I will absolutely recommend this business to anyone who needs dental work in the future.

Dr. Rowland and his staff have done an amazing job. Ashley was so sweet and had a great personality! Dr. R was really nice and answered all my questions to the best of his ability. This is an addition to the already-high quality service provided by this office for the important preventative maintenance for family dental care. Communication with his administrative staff and professional attention from all members continue to be as top-notch as ever.

If I could give zero stars I would. They charged my friend upfront for a procedure in March. Was reimbursed by the Insurance company shortly after. It is now September and they still have not refunded her the reimbursement. She has made several calls and they always say the person that does that is out. The next call will be to the insurance fraud hotline and to the news if they don't cut that check.

Overall excellent experience. I was seen by Dr. Nico who provided me with arguably my best dentist experience so far. 10/10 I will definitely be coming back again.

This place was recommended to me by a family member, and they had such positive reviews. I went in today to have all four of my wisdom teeth removed, two are impacted. The wait was pretty long, but that was fine. Before viewing anything they stated I may needed bone grafting, and it would be best if I got it. They were really convincing stating because of my age it would prevent further complications in the future. Well, they gave me the pricing after the xrays. The billing notice was over 2,000 dollars. The bone drafts were just as much as the extractions. So I asked again if this was truly the best thing they recommend, was it truly necessary.. and they kept reassuring it was. Of course I was trusting a professional opinion. I signed to run for a payment plan, since the price was more than double of what I expected. Then I was left to wait for a long time. I decided to look up bone drafting, in which I found it was not a necessary procedure for wisdom tooth removal AT ALL, unless the wisdom tooth has caused bone loss to the second molars. So this made me change my mind. Someone came in, and wanted me to give my financial information so they could complete the application for the payment plan, I informed her on my change of mind, and asked to see why X-ray, where it showed no bone loss to my molars. It left me feeling like they were really deceptive for saying it was in my best interest to get bone grafting which is usually for the foundation of implants.. what implants am I getting where my wisdom teeth are being removed? I let her know I changed my mind, and wanted a print out of my X-ray. When the next person came in she kept calling me “girly” which she wasn’t before, and it felt really condescending.. especially since she just started excessively doing it after I changed my mind. They informed me the payment plan rejected for me, but they never removed the plan for the grafting like I asked. After letting them know I was more interested in locating a dentist that actually took my insurance, the woman who kept calling me girly was still persistent in trying to set up a future appointment, and trying to get me to get work done today.. she also made a unprofessional comment about “when I get my finances together” when my financial situation is fine. I just don’t feel comfortable using your services after the deception, and con like behavior. Smh. Upon leaving my X-ray was printed, and they set up a second appointment in which I will not be returning to, and I will cancel tomorrow.. the woman asked the other if she needed it, and she clarified the X-ray was for me, the receptionist made a smart remark, and I got my stuff to leave. Upon existing I was asked as I’m leaving the door if I want to schedule for a cleaning with them as well. No. I will wait until VCU school of dentistry opens back up, so I can be in a professional, trustworthy environment. Very disgusted with how my appointment went today.

I had a wonderful experience at this Denist office! The hygenist, Monica, did amazing and made me feel very comfortable with the work she was doing in my mouth. Dr. Asghar was very quick to review the xrays and made sure I knew what was going on the whole time of the visit. By keeping me informed while they did the work and being so sweet I felt very comfortable and will definitely be coming back to this office for future visits. They also were very straight forward with cost amounts and understood that money does not grow on trees! Michael, the finance manager, sat down with me after the dentist and hygentist looked over my xrays and explained the cost to me and what would be best as far as order of the work and cost management! I would refer them to anyone who is looking for a great, reliable dentist!

I would rate them a 10! Each Doctor and staff were very friendly and compassionate. A family atmosphere. I have MS. Due to medications I had to have several teeth removed. My Dr. was very sensitive to my disease, as scared as I was they made me feel very at ease. I had very little pain and I’m healing nicely.
