Modern Dentistry PC

Going to the dentist was never a fun experience for me. I am a patient at Modern Dentistry for almost 5 years now and everyone here is so nice and welcoming. The dentist is very kind and thorough with his explanations. I definitely recommend Modern Dentistry to all who are looking for a dentist.

Dr. Armistead is an excellent dentist. The staff here are all very nice and they don't over charge people like other offices. I only go to the dentist when my teeth hurt but they fix it every time. Life savers! I hadn't slept for days because i was in so much pain so I finally decided to go back in to see Dr. Armistead. It was the tooth he had told me about a year ago that I never got around to fixing. But I walked out of the office no longer in pain. Great guy

A few minutes after walking in, you get a certain vibe from the office thats just amazing. everyone is eager to help you as best as they can in a kind, professional manner. Especially debra!! 🙌🏼 Super informative and well detailed to how I can improve my dental health. Although my response most of the time was one word😁 (she knows what it is) I enjoyed the conversation and am appreciative of her. That was my first visit to modern and I'm going back soon. They dont just exceed your expectations, the dental work they did on me was great and no pain whatsoever. I'd definitely recommend my family and friends to check them out.

I went to Modern Dentistry last year when I had an abscess. I sat down with Tonya and Dr. Armistead to arrange a plan. When I was called to the back, I had problems translating what was discussed prior to the hygienist. My $1,900 went to over 3k. I was told because I didn't have insurance and if I pay up front a percent would be deducted so I did. I sat there for over 6 hours in the dentist chair. They continued to try and push other care plans to make more money.

I left with a temporary tooth over the tooth that would be crowned and was scheduled to have my impression made at my next appointment. I had to reschedule because of work and when I made it back in, Dr. Armistead told me my gum line dropped and a crown would no longer be possible. I told him I would have a second opinion before giving up anymore money.

I found another dentist to do the work so I called Modern Dentistry to request a refund for what hasn't been done. Tonya then tells me the crown is at the office so a refund would not be possible. I explained the impressions were never made so their's no way a crown is at the office. She then goes on to explain I have a temporary tooth on so it's been paid and a refund will not be possible. So now I'm looking at lawyers to see what can be done. Very unprofessional in my opinion not to mention taking somewhere around 30 x-rays of my mouth then saying oh your wisdom teeth were removed, that's why I can't find them. She was very pushy on trying to get more money out of me the second visit. Even after explaining i would like to have insurance before agreeing to anymore work. She didn't like my answer and stated "insurances don't alway's cover as much as people think they do" as she walked out of the area.

I hope you don't have to experience the same troubles I'm currently dealing with. Look into vcu school of dentistry before going here. Nothing professional about this place.

I have had nothing but positive things to say about Modern Dentistry! The people are wonderful and were so helpful when I needed an emergency procedure done! I called on a Friday evening and they took me in the next morning (Saturday).

I went in and they want me to fill out an application for credit,I did and right up front they withdrew almost $7,000 out on my credit card.All I wanted was the bottom bridge repair but the dentist said start up top.I got scare and me being spanish I try to ask this two Spanish receptionist to help me understand why so expensive. well the dentist seems ok ,but in the next visit he said they will credit back I said that he though was a lot root canals. In the second visit this lady looks American said to me on my face you need to pay you owed us a lot of money.Im older suffer a lot health problems and my husband too, they charge me a lot ,this is my problem something is inside thoose tooth is like a niddles it feels in the way.When one girl put the temporary two teeth they inmediate fell out all Christmas I had a terrible pain. Everyone in spanish don’t trust thoose girls the curly hair try to make me sign other paper for other $5,000 ,and I didn’t beware of this place.

I had a horrible dental emergency that was causing me intense pain. I drove to Modern Dentistry Pc on Saturday morning and got there at 8:00 am. Even though they had a full schedule and couldn't call my insurance company "because it was Saturday", Dr. Alrahbi had me out of pain and fixed up within an hour so I could enjoy the holiday weekend! I will continue to use Modern Dentistry as my primary and emergency dentist even though I live in Short pump. Great work! Great customer service, Great Dr! And Great staff!

Unprofessional, hostile environment. Bullying culture with high employee turnover rate. Dentists talk to their employees in a very demeaning manner in front of patients, which is why none of their employees last longer than 90 days. Office assistants are catty, unprofessional, and inadequate in their roles. Lots of favoritism and preferential treatment from the dentists which at best is cultural bias and at worst is blatant racist behavior. Constantly overbooking and congestion of patients. More concerned with making money than providing quality care for their patients all while harboring a stressful environment for their employees.

as a pt who has been with them for some time...new office staff is now very unprofessional...dentists are great!! will take care of you but the office staff has a lot to learn...

Customer service sucks. It's crazy especially when you've paid over 3g out of pocket already. I wasn't greeted by the lady at the front desk. She was with a Customer so I waited for her. She only asked me for my first name and that was it.
