Dr Austin participated in the 2017 Compassionate Clinic at Columbia Presbyterian Church. He filled two cavities I had. I don't have dental insurance so this was HUGE. Thank you so much. His kindness, expertise and humor is contagious and my experience was pain free!!!

While the staff is friendly and nice when they work on my teeth they are all show and are actually manipulative and a scam! I have 2 free cleanings per year through my insurance. The first one I paid nothing because it's covered under my insurance. The second cleaning they claim they did a "special" cleaning (without my approval or knowledge as I was under the impression I scheduled the same type of cleaning as my first one) and had to bill it different (it should have been free as covered by my insurance). So I had to pay because the insurance only covers 80% of this "special" cleaning. Again, before my cleaning I wasn't told anything about having to do a special cleaning and nothing extra was done compared to my cleaning earlier in the year.
On top of that I had a crown put in a while back and they quoted me a price of which I paid in full on my credit card immediately after the process was completed. Turns out apparently they gave me the wrong estimate from the insurance company and I still owed more money. It should never be the customers responsibly to make sure the quote is accurate to the insurance company. It's also the dentist (or any company) responsibility to honor the quote they give to their customers.
Lastly, when they put my crown in they also did some filling work. Turns out apparently they missed a spot?! And, said they needed to do another filling on an area that never had a problem before and they constantly said my teeth are healthy and look good. Yet I supposedly need another filling that they just happen to not fill before when they were doing just that? It makes me question if I actually needed a crown or if they just saw an opportunity to scam me. I'm not buying into it and it completely feels like a very fishy business.
Austin Dentistry scams their customers and makes their patients return for multiple visits in order to charge them multiple times. Even push coming back so much that your insurance no longer covers the visits. I will be cancelling all future appointments with them and finding a better place that doesn't scam and deceive their customers. Their just lucky I'm not the type to get a lawyer to investigate or report them to the BBB.
