I’m having implants done. The experience has been wonderful so far. Dr Lowery is So patient and assuring. He has the best bedside manner!
I love everyone at this place! From the minute you walk in the door you are greeted by the friendliest faces. The nursing staff is excellent as well. I have never loved going to the dentist until now.

Starting with Doctor Art, this is really the best dental team I have ever been to. They are not only knowledgeable, but also the most personable, conscientious and caring. Everyone from the receptionists and hygienists to the dentists work together as a team to make you comfortable and keep you informed with what they are doing. I now have a full set of implants thanks to them, and they look and feel like my original teeth. (My wife says "better") Couldn't be happier! And now, going back for routine cleaning and alignment, even during Covid, they are still the best!

I called and told the girl who answered, everything I needed to tell a medical office in order to get an appointment. I want to be able to smile for my daughter's wedding. I got there early, gave all the credentials they asked for. Sat and was making out the paperwork, and a woman came to me as I sat and worked on the paperwork, and told me they don't take my insurance. I told the girl when I called, what my insurance was and I wasted my time and GAS to be turned away without even speaking to me about payment options. Never again. This place is horrible. What an absolute waste of time, gas and money.

I found Exceptional Dentistry to be a warm, inviting atmosphere. The staff very friendly and every effort is made to insure the comfort of their patients. The level of professionalism and medical expertise is top shelf and very reassuring. They didn't just address my dental needs, they restored my self confidence and smile.

I can't say enough positive things about my first dental appointment experience at Exceptional Dentistry. The staff was professional and welcoming as I walked through the doors as a brand new patient. The office staff out front give a very good first impression, the decor was beautiful, felt like a zen moment as I waited to be taken back and I felt completely relaxed and cared for. My treatment was mindful and they earned their name exceptional as we proceeded through exam, cleaning, and final exam with Dr. Kim. Thanks again for putting a smile on my face that day, I appreciate your team.

In May of 2020, I hit my front left tooth with a large glass water bottle. I decided to give Exceptional Dentistry and Sedation Center in Gainesville, Florida my business. Dr. Rodriguez evaluated me and stated my tooth was healthy; He suggested I monitor it over the next two weeks. I decided to get a second opinion from Dr. Art Mowery as the tooth was still occasionally aching. I regret this.

Dr. Mowery told me that my teeth looked fantastic and the front left tooth should heal just fine. He then asked me if I was okay with him polishing the tooth. He did not explain that polishing is shaving down the back of my front left tooth with a drill tool. After he ceased the short procedure, I sat for a moment in disbelief while running my tongue over the tooth. I noticed my front left tooth was now more thin compared to the right; My bite had become uneven. When I inquired on why he would shave down an already compromised tooth, he became extremely irate and interrupted me.

"I'm not answering any more of your questions. If you want to continue care, go to another dentist."

He stormed away without another word. That afternoon, I noticed sensitivity had developed in the tooth. I called the office and they told me the office manager would call back the next morning. I received no callback. After I left work at 2 PM, I drove over to discuss a refund. Patients were required to pass a temperature check outside the office before entry. I sent multiple calls to the office but each went to voicemail. While this was occuring, other patients were checked in and granted entry. I finally exited my vehicle and rang the doorbell. The waiting room lights were oddly shut off and no patients or employees were present. I then saw an employee peak their head around a corner - only to disappear as soon as they saw me. They were ignoring me. Exasperated, I gave up, entered my vehicle, and started to back out of the parking spot.

Out of nowhere, a sheriff SUV - lights flashing - pulled up next to me. The officer motioned for me to enter the parking spot once again. I did so and slowly exited my vehicle. He told me to get in front of his SUV. With my hands raised, I complied.

"What are you doing here?"
"Talking to this doctor regarding him damaging my tooth yesterday."
"Do you have any weapons on you?"
"No, sir."
"Give me your I.D. We were told by the office that you are trespassing and acting suspicious."
"What? He gave me nerve damage and I want to talk to him about a refund."

Two other sheriff SUVs had arrived. After the first officer checked my background, he entered the building while the other two officers stood outside with me. A few minutes passed until the officer returned with Dr. Mowery walking behind him. The dentist's face held a distraught expression.

"How can I help you?"
"You gave me nerve damage when you shaved down my already damaged front tooth."
"We will refund you in full. I will not be filing charges against you. Do not ever call this office again. Only communicate with us through email. We will send your records."
"... Thank you..."

The first officer told me I was free to leave; I thanked him and did so. Since then, a few fragments of bone broke off from the bottom of my tooth. It is now jagged. The sensitivity has increased exponentially and is often unbearable. I feel I have developed PTSD - the memory of Dr. Mowery shaving down my tooth plays in my head constantly.

I am still in shock from Dr. Art Mowery's lack of explanation before the procedure, the apathetic nature of the malpractice he committed, and his absolute ghastly behavior afterwards. He is in business only for the money. Mowery does not care for his patient's health and well-being. Take a good look at most of their reviews. They seem fake and manufactured. May be paid for.

I absolutely love my hygienist Kelly and I love all 3 dentist. The office staff is so helpful, friendly and professional. I’ve had extensive dental and cosmetic work over the past 15 years and would not go anywhere else. Best office ever.

Very professional staff. I normally hate the dentist but don't dread going here. Very happy with my results so far. ***Update - Just getting too expensive to continue going here. They were overpriced enough as it was and most insurance won't take them or is out of network, so not much is actually covered. I like the office and the people but they raised my regular cleaning fee to almost $200 per visit, from $162 and want me to come back every 3 months? That's $800 a year just in cleanings. What's worse... they didn't even tell me about their price increases until it was time to pay. Not very professional. On top of that, my upcoming treatment is $200 higher, which was already pretty overpriced compared to other reputable offices to begin with. Great service and office, not so great prices. ***Update - They did refund me the difference of the new price increase I wasn't informed about. I'm not looking for a "cheap" dentist, just someone that is reasonably priced and doesn't keep increasing their prices so much for the same level of care.
