Dentists at Midtown

I had an operation done by Dr Roig and Dr Jose and they were fantastic. From the front desk to all of the doctors, they are all professionals and make you feel comfortable throughout the process. Highly recommend them! Thank you guys!

This office is severely unprofessional. I’ve been there 2 times for cleanings and both times the staff is unorganized and only mildly attentive.

The hygienist (Carolina) is thorough and attentive. It goes down hill fast after that.

I gave this place a second chance because it is close to my residence.

I answered the automated “check in” through the Epic Smile Generation app but still received an email @ 3:36pm on a Friday with no follow up call to confirm my appointment. They gave me 1 hour and 24 minutes to confirm my appointment.

Unfortunately didn’t check my email and you can see the receipts for your self on my photos.

Safe your self the aggravation.

Also, they will charge you $25 per cleaning for fluoride and also try to “upsell” you on other cleaning solutions.

This place is like a bad “ Timeshare” office. Garbage. Hence why they have terrible reviews.

I've noticed a bad trend now going to this office a few times. Unfortunately they are always upselling something at each visit. I go in for a regular cleaning and even with my PPO insurance i walk out paying several hundred for something. Mind you, I've been seen by other dentists at solo practices and never required or was offered other services. The previous dentists were either bad, or just not pressured to offer extraneous services. This I think is obviously because of the corporate/franchise nature of this practice where they have to meet certain benchmarks and numbers ($$).

Dr. Tolmie & Nicole were awesome, they were super patient and helpful. They made sure I left not satisfied but HAPPY & I thank them so much. If you visit Dentist at Midtown I recommend them for sure!❤️

Since day one my experience at this practice has been nothing but amazing, especially since I have high anxiety when seeing the white coat. They are always patient and understanding and make sure to address any concerns I had. I highly recommend them

Pure upsell, even with insurance they were charging me for a cleaning amongst other things.
If you are looking for a dental health service with integrity do yourself a favor and find someone else.

This dentist’s office did unbundle, upcoding and Performance and billing for treatments not needed, or providing additional services or procedures beyond what was required, to increase billings and claims amounts of procedures.
The office overcharged me for my teeth cleaning procedure. I have received routine teeth cleaning for more than 20 years in many different dentists’ offices across the country. There is no one charged the teeth cleaning procedure as two procedures and billed the way this office did. Therefore, they double charged one procedure as two, which is covered 100% by the insurance
The dentist’s office is also upcoding the procedure: the hygienist did regular teeth cleaning for me, but the office coded it to deep cleaning (Periodontal Maintenance). I received the Explanation of Benefit (EOB) from my PPO insurance regarding this teeth cleaning and the PPO requested the office to submit the supporting document for the dentist’s office claim, but so far, the dentist’s office did not submit the support document to my PPO company. Since I do not need to do the deep cleaning and the dentist did not request to do so, it was just upcoding by the office, of cause, it will be difficult for them to provide the reason/document for the deep cleaning. Also, in the EOB, the PPO stated that the patient is not responsible for any charge in excess of the allowed amount, the allowed amount for deep cleaning is $70 (it will be covered by PPO 100%), but the office charged me $95.16.
The office should refund the overcharge to the patients and stop unethical medical services to harm the patient as soon as possible. Please do not visit the office until they correct the unethical medical services!!!

I'm confused by all of these positive reviews. Did we go to the same place?

First they made me wait for 1 hour and 45 minutes and then did a lot of x-rays. They did two types of x rays that were not covered by my insurance. I was not made aware of this until I received a bill a month later.

Once I finally saw a dentist about 2+ hours later, they told me I needed to pay $500 for a special cleaning since my teeth were so bad that it "wouldn't do anything" even though I go to the dentist every 6 months. When I pushed back and asked for the bi-annual cleaning, they refused. Instead they told me I needed 2 crowns and a laser treatment that will cost me $2k+.

Appalled, I walked out and got a second opinion. There was no mention of a crown or laser treatment at the second dentist. This place is a scam and will try to sell you on treatments you don't need.

I visited this dental office and to be honest was one of the greatest experience I have ever had. I was greeted by Gaby, she is the expert in benefits at this location. She walked me through the whole process by explaining every single step of the procedure. She covered every single item on the list ! She was so good I didn’t even have a question when she was done with her explanation of benefits that my insurance covers. The staff was great, they were all very friendly and with a great environment. I recommend everyone to go here. I promise you won’t retreat it. Thank you to everyone in the office for the great care and treatment and especially Gaby for doing such a great job explaining everything to me. Awesome work I am extremely happy with the overall visit.
