Tomoka Family Dentistry

Oh where to begin.... They will call to confirm my appointment and tell me that they called to verify my insurance and that I don't have coverage. When I call the ins company they show no record of the dentist calling them and show that my coverage is active. this happened on three occasions. They tried to call my ins company with me standing there only to be told that it was a holiday and the ins company was closed however I called on my cell phone in the waiting room and got through just fine. The receptionist Holly then get s on my cell phone and proceeds to tell my insurance company that their recording says they are closed so are they open or not..Then she hung up on my ins company while the rep was talking to her.They sent my account to collections when the balance had been paid. Every time I call to speak to the office manager she is never available and never returns the call. The try to push unnecessary services on us such as a mouth guard for my 5 year old to straighten her baby teeth.The hygienist told my daughter that the tooth fairy should bring books instead of money when she heard me tell my daughter that the tooth fairy was bringing her money. The hygienist also told me at our January visit that my daughters loose tooth would not come out until summer when the tooth came out the following week. Ever thing has been building up with this office and I will no longer be a patient.

I went there with a coupon I got in the mail. I was amazed at the kind attentive people and staff. The dentist was pleasant, not over kill nice but kind. I thought once I got in they'd milk me for other stuff but they did not. She said I had no cavities yeah! The cleaning was painless. Xrays a pain but not bad (digital which is a lot less radiation and few places are around here!) I loved it there. Recommend highly!

Very friendly, personable staff. I felt comfortable with the care I received. Went for a second opinion, and decided to have them do the work instead. I don't think that I will be disappointed.

The entire staff is so friendly I have zero apprehension about anything they do here..I am currently driving 6 hrs round trip to get here that should speak volumes. This is an amazing dental office. The staff is so nice and welcoming. The hygienist who cleaned my teeth did a great job. Dr. Schimenti is professional and friendly who treats both her staff and patients with respect. I will be recommending Dr. Schimenti to all of my friends and family.

I have been a patient of Tomoka Family Dentistry for several years now. The care has always been thorough and professional. I recently had a root canal on a wisdom tooth that had been done by another dentist fail and cause me a great deal of pain just before a trip out of the country. Dr. Schimenti was able to fit me into the schedule the next business day to treat my tooth, and help me avoid canceling my trip. This is a great dentist and office!

All staff are very patient and welcoming, never really leave reviews on anything but this place is worth talking about and recommending. Previous dentist offices I've been to are very stuffy, rude staff, impatient nurses, etc. But you won't find that here :)

Been a patient here since 2014,.. Dr S and staff have always so kind, caring and professional. It’s always a pleasant visit, your treated as family & with care,.. yes even though we think of pain when we hear dentist 🦷 lol 😂
