After a bad bout once at a local dentist, everyone here made me feel welcome and cared about! They were all so nice and easy going with things and explained what they were doing. They care about their patients and know their stuff when it comes to dentistry! So glad I came back home!

There are no mask rules in this time when covid is still surging in our state. Clearly there is no concern for the patient's health because the people at the desk have no idea of knowing if the patient has underlying conditions or lives with somebody with underlying conditions and if they take no effort to protect them through mask mandates. It is true that when you are in the chair the person working on your teeth does wear a mask but that doesn't prevent another hygienist from entering room without a mask while your mouth is wide open. I have been a patient at this Dental office since I arrived in Des Moines in 1995. I will no longer be going to this office oh, I will be at at office that takes more care about his patients well-being and health. I know that this office follows the Iowa Dental Board mandates, but my point is that these mandates do not go far enough in protecting vulnerable patients; each individual dentistry office has to decide for itself if it will take further action in caring for those who enter its doors. It is easy to say "I'm just following orders."

The staff makes a dentist appointment NOT a horrible experience. I’ve been seeing Dr. Hutchison for 15+ years and he has a gentle touch when doing major dental work! He is also very transparent in the cost and the needed dental care. I would highly recommend this office.
