my son is 11 and has crooked teeth I was curious about having baby teeth pulled at different intervals to see if we could get them to straighten out. The dentist we saw berated me and tried to make me feel stupid and started talking about braces for an 11 year old kid. So an ortho came in to consult and she wanted to pull 6 teeth at the same time...complete opposition to the dentist. I got the sense that money was the main driver at the end when I was presented with an estimate before an appt was even made. I grew up with a dentist as a dad and got the sense here that money was the main driver. They give gift baskets for new patients but I am not duped by this.
