Since the recent retirement of my longtime periodontist ( over 25 years ), I have come twice to HPDG for appointments. Once with a terrific dental hygienist and today with highly recommended periodontist , Dr. Gabriel Boustani. Well, BINGO! He seems to be the real deal! He is thoughtful, sincere and friendly and allayed my anxieties over acquiring a new doctor after so many years with my trusted original periodontist. All questions were answered and I left the office feeling most positive about my new relationship with Dr. Boustani and the folks at HPDG.

After a number of years of getting dental care here I quit. The turnover has been significant, the office staff is generally unresponsive, the quality of the hygienists is uneven, the costs are excessive. As an example, my dentist suggested that I needed an overnight mouth guard to prevent damage from teeth grinding at a cost of $800+. I was able to get a custom made appliance of equal quality online for about $120. After telling that to my DMD, she simply shrugged. Yes, the offices and parking access are convenient, but the practice quality had gone down hill in the past 2 years and the practice is not consumer friendly.

I decided to try a new periodontist, and Dr. Melcer was highly recommended by a friend who is a retired dentist. I had a full exam before having a soft tissue graft and related procedures for some gum recession of a front bottom tooth. The exam was very thorough, and Dr. Melcer gave me some good (and new to me) dental hygiene tips as well a detailed evaluation of my gums. He has an outstanding "chair side" manner, and I felt no pain during the surgical procedure. I will continue to see Dr. Melcer for my periodontal needs and will recommend him to others. He is a 5 star dentist to me!
