Nelson Dentistry: Jonathan Nelson, DMD

My experience with Dr. Nelson at Nelson Dentistry was above and beyond. Having worked in the operating room for 25 years now I know a thing or two about patient safety, sterility and bed side manners. Dr. Nelson and his staff are the perfect example of how a dentist office should be run. From the friendly staff that check you in to the dental assistant's and hygienists they are all very knowledgeable and patient friendly, able to answer any questions you may have. They only use the latest technological equipment and supplies to make your visit an enjoyable one. Whether it's a routine cleaning or a cavity filling, the staff and Dr. Nelson go out of there way to make your visit as comfortable as going to a spa. I have been to Nelson Dentistry a couple times for a new patient check-up/cleaning and a small chip repair and both visits were a pleasant experience. The staff was very knowledgable and professional and I also appreciated the use of new technology in reception and in the dental chair. I was very pleased with Dr. Nelson's work, as well as his supportive staff with their efficiency and attention to detail.

I had a wonderful experience at Nelson Dentistry. My dental hygienist Anna was extremely kind and knowledgeable. She answered all of questions in depth while giving me tangible take home advice to work on. I feel confident they are providing me the best care.

Dr. Nelson and his staff are the best dentistry team I have had the privilege to work with. Three years ago my teeth were crooked, cavity ridden and hurt pretty badly. After a referral to an orthodontist and several visits later and my teeth look and feel great. I go in every three months for routine checkups and to my get my teeth cleaned. They look and feel fresh every time!

I had not been to the dentist in years, so I set off to find a good dentist and could not be happier. This is not a spam review by some bot I am a real client here in Missoula Montana.

First, I reached out to the administrative staff and expressed my anxieties with going back to the dentist after such a long period of time. They were very understanding and remembered who I was every time we had an interaction. I did not feel pushed to do anything and that it was all in my control. My initial appointment was very professional and I was informed during every step of the process of what was going to be done and what would be done moving forward.

When I went in to get my first filling I was terrified. But Dr. Nelson's assistant helped me through the entire procedure keeping me calm and collected. Surprisingly to me the entire filling was about a 1/10 on the pain scale! to my delight I have found a caring practice that I trust and will recommend them to anyone I ever talk to about Dentistry.

I was pleasantly surprised when the staff and Dr. Nelson were able to see me on a same-day time frame for a chipped tooth/issue. An appointment for follow- up and repair of said tooth was then made available to me the very next day!!!! I was treated to not only knowledgeable and efficient care, but genuine kindness for my "dilemma". Dr. Nelson not only repaired my tooth, but did such an excellent job, I was unable to distinguish the repaired tooth - in color, shape, or texture - from those adjacent to it. I am beyond pleased with the care I receive, and would highly recommend Dr. Nelson's practice as best-choice !

Been going here for a few years. Everyone is so friendly. I was blown away when Lynnea remembered my name after only my first visit. Most recently, Sammy was my dental hygienist and she was so friendly. She was gentle while still giving me a great cleaning.

We have been going to Nelson dentistry since before Dr Nelson took over the practice. The staff are efficient and friendly, the office is relaxing ( for a dentist office!) and the Doctor is friendly and professional. The office has been modernized and they use the latest technology to make your options more informed.

You know that saying, you don't know what you don't know.... I had no idea a dentist office could be like this!! I went in for a new patient visit/cleaning today. Natalie was excellent, super informative, and friendly. Dr. Nelson did an examination; he asked me questions no other dentist had bothered asking me (what do I want out of my dental care etc.), and did an examination like no other I had experienced before either. While the exam was all super easy, quick and painless, he made observations and discussed them with me (such as some crowding on my lower jaw, my jaw popping, some tooth scarring from a young age etc.) that no other dentist has ever mentioned to me. I will be honest, I feel a bit naive that this is not what I have always expected or received from a dental clinic.
On to the actual cleaning... Jody (Jodie?) was a delight! She has a lot of experience, is extremely knowledgeable and very skilled. I feel like all of my other cleanings have been like taking your car to get vacuumed and this cleaning was a full on detailing! Her and Natalie both provided some hilarious entertainment and comments which was very appreciated. Jody explained why she did what she did and how it might benefit me etc. (clearing out some build up under the gums which was causing some recession. If other clinics did this or focused on it, it was never brought to my attention or discussed with me)
All in all, if you are looking for a new dental clinic, or are afraid you are just "getting by" with yours, I HIGHLY recommend becoming a patient here. They are extremely thorough and skilled!

I like going to my dental appointments and the team at Nelson Dentistry is the main reason why. From my appointments with them I believe that they are efficient and well trained at their jobs and are genuine nice people. Being comfortable going to your dentist is important and I think anyone can find comfort with the Nelson Dentistry crew.
