Best staff ever!!
The staff at Mountain View Dental and Orthodontics is top notch. They are kind, patient and answer all of my wondering questions. They really make our visits comfortable and even relaxing.

The most professional, polite, knowledgeable, painless dentist I have ever been to. Every one of the dentists and staff is simply exceptional. Amber, who assisted the dentist was great! Everyone! So hard to find such efficiency and professionalism like this. Never even felt the pain numbing needle! True story, painless dentistry.

Went to Mountain View for a routine cleaning and was overall unimpressed by the office despite the rave reviews. Being affiliated with the military, I have been to a lot of dentists across the US, and this one was mediocre at best. After the cleaning, the dentist came in for the exam and told me that I needed a crown. I have never had a crown done before and went in with no issues with my teeth, so I pressed him with questions since I was unconvinced of this treatment plan. The dentist knew this would be my only visit since I am in Alamogordo short-term and that I have Tricare dental insurance. He spent a good ten minutes trying to explain and (oddly) convince me to make this appointment which would have cost $850 - only half of which would be covered by insurance! I took my x-rays and asked my sister, a dental hygienist, if I should get a second opinion. I promptly went to a different office and was told there are no issues with my teeth and that I only had a small chip in the tooth that could be filled, if I wanted. But, it didn’t actually need anything since there is zero decay. So - please do not fall into the dental trap and reconsider going to Mountain View.

My appointment was for 10:10 am At 10:40 I asked what was going on. The lady at the desk said she would check. Ten minutes later I was called. To let you know how I felt, my blood pressure was 157 over 100something. The lady who did my cleaning asked, "Didn't they keep you updated at the desk?" Um NONONONONO. You are getting good money for my time. I expect the same service from you. Try harder next time.

Everyone I dealt with were friendly and professional. A very thorough exam. A REAL dental office. Glad I finally ended up there. BEST Dental office in Alamogordo. Thank you all I dealt with.

I went to Mountain View in pain, after being jacked around for six weeks by another dentist that said I needed a root canal but forgot to schedule my appointment. The staff at Mtn View are awesome. I was scheduled right away for a consult and two days later had the work I needed done. I highly recommend them. From the office staff which handled my insurance in minutes, to Dr. Peterson and his assistant every person I met was top notch. A +++++

My wife retired from the Air Force on 1 April 2019. Knowing we would need dental insurance, I called Mountain View Dental in March 2019 and asked the young man who answered the phone what dental insurance plan they would recommend for good dental coverage if we enrolled as dental patients at Mountain View. He recommended MetLife High, so that's exactly what we did, effective 1 May 2019. First week of May 2019, we called Mountain View to schedule routine semi-annual dental cleanings under our new MetLife coverage. Mountain View easily verified our dental insurance, but then dropped a very unexpected bomb on us...they had absolutely NO new patient appointments available until mid-September 2019! A 4-month wait for routine x-rays and cleanings. This is how they run a professional medical practice? Of course, we made the appointments they offered in September 2019 because everybody says Mountain View is the best dental show in town, but our first impression from the delay in care is not positive. I suppose we'll see what happens in September 2019 after that initial exam and cleaning.
August 2020 Update: Their scheduling is still way too far out in the future, but the quality of their dental care is quite awesome. Dr. Walker and Kayla are both amazing. Glad we are patients with them.

I purposfully avoided the dentist for 15yrs but finally had to make an appointment for some much needed dental work. Everybody is professional and personable. They work well together and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. If all dentist offices were like this one, I wouldn't have waited 15yrs to go in!

Dr. Griffin took such good care of our 6 year old!! She needed some fillings done and he was incredibly patient with her. Also his assistants Derika and Cassie were super knowledgeable and made our visits enjoyable. She actually likes coming to the dentist, pretty rare for a kid to say!

I enjoyed my visit for a regular cleaning as much as anyone could enjoy a dental visit I imagine. My hygienist, Damian did a thorough job with a good degree of gentleness...codes to him.
