I had a very bad toothache and they scheduled me in the same morning I called. I just moved here from Greensboro so I wasn't an existing patient. I was very grateful. They were very kind and attentive to my needs. I will use them as my new dental office in Charlotte.

I love this office, staff is very friendly. The Dr's I have had the pleasure of getting were very attentive to my dental needs.

My husband and I have been going to the dentist on a regular basis for over 20 years and we decided to come to UDA as it was a little closer to home and they have an African American dentist. Our initial visit was like nothing we have ever experienced. We arrived at our appointment time and since we did not complete the paperwork electronically, we were rushed to the back (I am writing the entire time) and then the assistant had both of us go in one exam room. We were looking for a place to sit and then she said "hang your purse up here" which I did, and then she said "no - I'll take you to another room", so I followed her. Then there were 2 additional assistants in the room with my husband and they kept badgering him for the paperwork, which I was completing and he let them know that. Then one of the assistants stated rudely “well, we can't do anything without the paperwork" and I told her, I am completing it as quickly as I can and if this is a problem, then we will go back to our original dentist. She left the room and I completed the documents. The assistant was working with my husband and then the dentist came in, while the assistant I had was taking X-rays (it seemed like a thousand!). She kept shoving the tool with the film in my mouth (my mouth is very small) and it kept scraping the inside of my mouth which was not comfortable at all. She finally completed them, and then was told by another assistant she needed to retake 4 of the X-rays - so hence the uncomfortable feelings were back. She then began typing my information in the computer system and I noticed she had an incorrect number on my file (I don't know where she got that from), and another assistant came in to correct it. During all of this, the magnetic apron (which covers half of your body) was left on me for about 20 minutes after the X-rays were completed. I finally had to remove it myself and waited another 20 minutes for the hygienist to come in. She then checked my teeth and did her measurements and I am thinking - ok she is going to clean my teeth and it never happened! The dentist (Dr. Michael Givens) finally comes in (now keep in mind, I wrote on both of our paperwork that this was our 6-month checkup and cleaning) and he asks me "What is the reason for your visit today?". Did he not read my file? He then checked my teeth and I asked him about the possible crack in my tooth. He stated, “OH I would not have known that had you not told me." What??? So, they schedule us to come back for our cleaning (never had that happen before) and we arrive 30 minutes early, so we stay in the car until 10 minutes before and sign in. The receptionist says ok, thank you and then we sit, and sit and watch customers come out and leave and then a white male named Ben comes in after us, sits down and gets called back in 5 minutes. He even stated to the nurse, they were here before me and she shrugged it off. My husband goes to the desk and states my appointment was at 3pm and it is now 3:20pm and the receptionist states she does not know and not sure what is going on. My husband then says we were here before him so why is he called and not me? Once again, the receptionist states she is unsure. We then tell them to cancel our cleaning appointments and leave the office. They never apologized nor did they attempt to stop us and find out the issue. Just slack, unprofessional and apparently lacking in dentistry knowledge. DO NOT GO THERE!!!!

I have been going here for years and have never had a problem till this past Friday. On Thursday I had my 6 months cleaning. I told my hygienist that are hasn't sensitivity on my upper left side. I'm prone too cavities so I told them maybe it was a cavitie. So they took a xray and " saw a small cavity" they scheduled me to come in the next day to get it filled. Do I came in in Friday had had it filled. When she drilled down into my tooth she said " there is no cavity here" and cleaned me up and sent me on my way. I have been in none stop pain every since last Friday and now I'm facing a root canal because of their " Great job" of " fixing it" I'm extermly not happy with this dentist and will no longer be seeing them. Please be careful when going here!!

First impression from Initial visit today was really good. They seem to cultivate a relaxed, but professional atmosphere there; and everyone seems to be really comfortable in their varying roles. Great!

I have been coming to this location for years. Some of the people
have changed , but I have always had a good experience, and a great cleaning. I would highly recommend this practice.

I wish I had read the reviews before I went. I loved the Dentist and Hygenist but their office practices are under handed and blatantly unethical. They tell you your insurance will cover a certain amount, and when it doesnt, you are on the hook. They dont do a pre determination of benefits..its their best guess of what might be covered. Going forward I will be certain to ask a lot more questions and ask for answers in writing. Of course that will happen at a new practice...Avoid this office at all costs.

University Dental always makes going to the dentist a easy experience. Dr Lesansky is the best. Friendly, listens to concerns, offers suggestions for problems. Always explains what needs to be done and tells you before he starts procedure exactly what he's doing. Hands down, he's the best dentist I've ever been to.

Charlotte Chiro

Great experience. Office staff are very professional. Minimal wait time. Dr. Lesansky is proficient; takes time to answer all your questions; and make you feel very comfortable. Highly recommended!
