I needed to check out a new office because my dentist went out of network, but I see the dentist's office every 6 months for cleaning and checkups regularly.
Dr. Sheila Vacendak reviewed my x-rays and sat down next to me to give me the news. I had 5 cavities and one would need a root canal, crown (she could make it for me in house), and possibly worse (very much scare tactic). I was shocked since I did not understand how my teeth could all of a sudden be so bad in 6 months. I've never needed anything but a few fillings. She also felt I should not wait for my insurance predetermination on what they would cover since my tooth was so bad, and then when I insisted, she sat on the paperwork for over two weeks (I called the insurance to see what the status was and she'd never sent it in) until I called her to ask why it had not been sent in.
Feeling I needed a second opinion, I called my cousin who happens to be a recently retired Air Force dentist (ran several USAF Dental offices) and currently runs a university dental residency. He had his student look over my teeth and he fixed my one filling and saw no other cavities. No root canal needed, no crown needed, just a simple filling. My cousin reviewed his work and concurred. I was shocked. I'll let you form your own opinion, but I won't be going back.

Dr. Vacendak and the entire team were friendly, accommodating and really took their time during my visit. It was frankly the most thorough dental exam I've ever had...and that's what you want from a regular checkup, right? Gave me peace of mind. This is the best dentist office I have ever been to both Dr’s are excellent. The staff is friendly, and the office is extremely clean and welcoming. In my experience they where flexible with treatment options and very patient centered and professional. They offer a high quality service for a fair price.

My husband and I just came from this Dentist office, and I want to say that I have never had such a great and complete oral exam and cleaning ever. I am nervous when it comes to having work done by the dentist, However, Dr. Daniel and his assistant were very good and made me feel comfortable.
I would highly recommend The Vancendek dentisry to anyone. Everyone was professional and caring.
We will be going back to them from now on. :)
