I had a filling fall out and was in a lot of pain. I needed a dentist ASAP.
I am one of those people that are very fearful of having dental work done.
I called Shockoe Dentistry and was amazed of the empathy for my pain and the urgency to get me in that day. (which they did).
I met with Dr. Vellucci, she listened to my concerns, discussed my treatment options and laid out a plan. During the procedure, she frequently checked to make sure I was not feeling any pain and comfortable. Dr. Vellucci repaired my tooth and she made me feel at ease through the entire process. I am very lucky to have found Dr. Velluucci and have already scheduled more appointments with her. I live an hour away from the Shockoe Dentistry. Dr. Vellucci is worth the drive for the emotional ease and excellent quality work she has provided.
I felt cared for as a patient from the moment I called. The professional and friendly demeanor sets the tone and reflects the service at Shockhoe Dentistry. I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for an outstanding dental office!

The staff was wonderful!
But the lack of character in the office is off-putting. Ignoring that it's in the basement, so no natural light, everything is the same color of off-white. I didn't have any distraction while laying back with my mouth open. It is steet parking only, I got lucky, but would be a downside on an unlucky day. I'll likely try the other location to see if it's better.

I was eating a Snicker's bar when I bit into something hard, and I knew it wasn't a peanut! Part of my molar cracked off! I made an appointment with Dr. Lipscomb to see if I could get the hole in my tooth repaired or filled. The procedure took less than an hour, and Dr. Lipscomb always checking to see if I was uncomfortable or if I was ok. He saw that I winced a little bit and he offered me more anesthesia before proceeding so that I wouldn't be in any discomfort. I think this is what separates Dr. Lipscomb from all my past dentists, in that he actually cares about the condition his patients and they are not just a number. He didn't push any services on me or try to promote anything. He did find two cavities and I know I will be going back to his practice to get them filled!
