Dr. Katie Denney is the worst. She looked at my teeth and saw a million problems that required fillings. Then later when I scheduled appointments to fix my teeth, she told me oh your teeth looks good, looks like we won't have to do a few of these fillings. I felt like she assumed I would not take care of my teeth so she will just try to make money off of me. Dont go here if you don't want a dentist to assume you will have million problems and have you make appointments all to cancel her prejudements. I feel like I wasted so much money getting fillings there. I never had this many problems with my teeth, never had braces either. Find a dentist that will not con you into getting fillings.

The ladies at the office and assistant and doctors all do a great job. Always are inviting and feel welcome when you go. They give you any information needed to help with your teeth to make them better. They make it a good experience when you go. Thank y'all for taking care of me and my family on our dental needsđź‘Ť

Sent a $64 bill over to collections, the bill was for my son over the age of 18 instead of calling me about the bill.

The best! I was greeted by the receptionist she was very friendly she explained that she had to register me and someone would be with me shortly and that’s exactly what happened I was escorted to the exam room by a very nice young lady she explained everything she was doing then Hr AJ Fannell came in and introduced himself to me he made me feel very relaxed. Everything went smoothly I would recommend Balmoral Dental to anyone
Thank you all for making my experience a good one ❤️

Office was clean. Staff professional, services as expected. They were recommended to me by a co worker. I presented my insurance and was told that I would owe a $15 co pay per visit and my cleaning and exam were covered by my insurance. Then I was told they couldn't perform a cleaning in one visit, now I'm in this for $30, ok. Today I received a $30 bill from the practice on top of the co pay. Now who else does this, when you buy that meal at the restraunt or item from the store at an agreed on price do you expect to receive a bill for more a week later? Does your lawn company do this? "I know we agreed to cut your lawn for $45 but here is an additional bill for $65 and if you don't pay we will report on your credit, pay no mind that we had a deal"? I bet the dentists would agree it were wrong if it went down that way for him. Complete money grubbing and no honor to an agreed on price. I would cancel my next appointment but I cannot meet the window to not be charged $97 for skipping it, since it's early next week so the extra $45 it will cost me for that visit, not the agreed on $15 mind you, is less. I will take that hit and make sure I share my experience with this practice with everyone I know (and you, dear reader, you too have been warned). At least they and you will get the truth from me and be $60 ahead. I don't even want to think of what the bill would have been if I had a bridge, cap or root canal done after being told. "No problem sir, it's only a $15 co pay." I may not be able to find a dentist locally that doesnt lie to me and gouge me but this will be the last penny this one gets from me. I have to admit I don't really understand why it is PHD level work with PHD prices, barbers used to do it.

In response to your response:

Its really simple, if you tell me a price and it's not that price, that qualifies as a lie, it's not complicated. If you underestimated, or don't know how to do a part of your business that you do every day, that should be on the professional providing the service, not the customer. It's often referred to as customer service, good business, honesty, ethics, you get the picture, you did go to school for 8 years I am sure these words and concepts came up from time to time while you were a student. As an aside, I do understand you have a medical degree which is a PHD level degree, hence the reason we refer to someone that has one as "Doctor". Which does more accurately fit dentistry, ask any Medical Dr. I seem to have struck a nerve on that one. To summarize, if you lie about small things, you will lie about big things and it is a character flaw. Anyone reading this should take note that at no time did this practice offer to make it right in any way. Character matters.

Update, 31 August. The practice agreed to waive the fee for canceling my appointment tomorrow. On requesting that in writing they flatly denied the request. "On orders from the Doctor". I was assured I will receive no bill for the canceled appointment, but we are dealing with a practice that has already proven their word is no good, so we will see. I will update in the event I do in fact receive a bill since they refused to provide confirmation. I hope my experience with this practice keeps you from being taken advantage of by them.

Called to set up an appt. Cindy told me they accepted Humana but that she couldn't check to see if they accepted my specific Humana. :/ She basically refused to help at all.

I LOVE this place! I felt comfortable there from day 1, they all are so sweet and treat you like they’ve known you for a life time. I’ve had to get more dental work done lately and they always get me in last minute and are very upfront with prices and insurance and I just love everyone there!!

Amazing staff!!!! I hate going to the dentist. My nerves don't help that either, but all of the staff was great and patient with me. They even took their time and explained my issues in detail. Will definitely keep them as my dentist!!!

I took my daughter in for an exam and treatment. Dr Denney was great but the front office staff was very rigid. I explained that my daughter was in town from college for the summer and needed one small cavity treated and a cleaning. The office manager insisted that she have a comprehensive exam as per office policy. I am a recently retired dentist and explained to her that my daughter had a recent exam by me and all she needs was a filling and a cleaning before returning to college. I understand their "policy"; however, to be so rigid and unwilling to make exceptions under these circumstances seems more money driven than caring for the patient. Of course they need policies but in my practice they were guidelines for my staff vs mandates. Unfortunately my wife and I will be seeking care from a dental office that is more patient focused.

Dr. Fennell, I appreciate your response and I do not disagree with evaluations to make a diagnosis. My daughter came in for a limited exam and treatment and was rescheduled to have the treatment. However, your front office would not allow treatment without the more extensive full mouth exam. Dr Denney had already completed the limited exam and diagnosed the need for #2 treatment. My daughter had a recent complete evaluation by myself. I KNOW she doesn't have other needs. She was simply here for the summer from college, had a small occl pit and needed it treated. If your office doesn't do limited treatment then that should be stated at the time of the initial appointment. I will fly her back to my dental partner and he will treat her. No problem! As I stated before, my wife and I were looking for a dental home and thought we had found one since Dr. Denney is a USC grad as am I. But due to office policies we'll find another office.

Dr. Fennell and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Fennel and his staff went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and understood his diagnosis of my issue. If you are looking for a new dentist, I would highly recommend Dr Fennell and Balmoral Dental Center.
