Advanced Family Dentistry

Advanced Family Dentistry has done wonders for my teeth. I haven’t been to the dentist in a while due to a fear of the numbing shots. I knew I needed to get some cavities fixed but fear got the best of me and I put it off until a month before I was moving out of state. They squeezed me in last minute and were able to get all my cavities done and a crown. They are all super kind and welcoming. I never once felt judged for the condition my teeth were in, which means a lot to me. The Doctors are very professional and walked me through everything in detail. Best dentist office I have ever been too. :)

From the receptionist to the dental tech and doctor, what an experience. So kind communicative and funny. I showed up 20 minutes before my appointment and got in early. Also first shot I’ve ever received that was painless. Great numbing techniques. Best dental practice I’ve ever been to. Very professional. 110% recommend.

Very friendly at first and thought id found my forever dentist but that was until they found out im a recovering addict then the friendliness went away and scheduling conflicts, being charged for a cleaning that never happened and charged for a 10 second adjustment of my partial that they charged me 2 hundred and something dollars plus the adjustment that was made was sooo tight it was cutting the roof of my mouth in 2 places. I dont understand, i have had adjustments half a dozen other times and never charged. They also are aware of my insurance situation and know anything over what it doesn't cover is usually discussed beforehand to decide if i can afford it then make a decision on what to do but that didn't happen anymore. Just surprise bills that say 90 days past due in less than 2 weeks for work done 3 months ago but this is the first notice or attempt to collect so it goes to collections.
ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!!! Good luck if you try them.

I was referred by Dr Mann for a root canal and had been prescribed antibiotics for an abscess but hesitant about any Med’s, I gave it a week after the root canal to start antibiotics.

after pain didn’t subside, hoping root canal would help, I contacted Dr. Lowrie requesting a call back but instead was left a message with an appointment for less than two hours later when I thought I just needed a refill ?!

I was told that the Dr. Lowrie was booked until 4:00-4:30 so I didn’t expect him to call back until after that but I was called and asked “ if I was gonna keep my appointment?”

What appointment? I live in Eagle River and he was serving the Anchorage community at the time so I must’ve been at least 30 to 45 minutes out yet she called me at the appointment time with a snarky attitude like I should’ve just known to be there.

This lack of communication created a rift of distrust so I changed my original “solicited” review, glowing recommendation down to a one star after feeling like my trust had been violated and I have been blown off by Dr Lowrie!

If someone has an abscess and has been treated with a root canal and requests a phone call I don’t think that’s too much when I seem to be getting worse after my course of antibiotics has run out.

Having the receptionist tell me that “this would be billed as an emergency visit not to worry about my insurance caps”, didn’t help with understanding why they wanted me in?!

It took a subsequent follow up visit back to an awesome dentist Dr. Mann at Mann family dentistry to explain that root canal looked good and that it’s not a good idea to continue with antibiotics and I needed to be seen by a dentist or Endodontist but I wish Dr. Lowery had been respectful enough to explain that himself.

So unprecedentedly, I will upgrade the rating in case I judged Dr Lowrie wrongly and that this was front office issues and not a reflection of lack of care, follow up or professionalism or a lack of communication and compassion for my pain and infection!

Odd no call after a one star review? Does this office care, we will see! Keep you posted!

After breaking 1/2 a tooth off eating popcorn, Advanced Denistry scheduled me right in to see the Dr. He gave me a quick examination and recommend a crown for the repair. That very same hour he provided a temporary crown and I was on my way.
Very efficient and courteous staff with hardly any waiting. I highly recommend Advanced Family Denistry, they are great to work with!

My son and I had a good experience at Advanced Family dentistry. The dental hygienist was wonderful with my son and with me. Friendly and professional. The dentist was great as well. He joked with my son, answered my questions and his, and he responded to my son’s chatter about Pokemon.

I had the most pleasant dentist visit. They were very professional and generally interested in my well being! Highly recommended!

My feeling has been using office for many years. They have always taken very good care of us! I highly recommend them.

Always prompt and I love the staff and doctors there. They always make time for appt at last minute when hurting and don’t make you feel stupid when you neglect things that should have been taking care of.
