Great friendly office. They have the best dentist in town (Dr. Ching) and just great overall staff of dentist. Additionally they have the best hygienist (Yvette). Best office in Bakersfield!

Personnel are cold in this office and their business model is to squeeze money from the patients as much as possible. For example, I went there for a tooth ache, they took a few x-rays and then the dentist checked me for a couple of minutes ( and charged me about $100 for the service) and then, he referred me to one of his specialists in the office for another check up (that would have been another $100+). I gave up after first visit and went to another dentist who found nothing wrong except that I was told to brush with Sensodyne and my problem went away. I will never go back to this dental office and I will never recommend him to anyone.

Saw Dr. Ching here and then had three wisdom teeth extracted by the oral surgeon Dr. Tran. Two of them had grown in sideways, so it wasn't a simple extraction.
But the recovery was smooth. The pain medication prescribed kept things under control and got me through the worst of it which was the first two days post-op.
After a week, the pain had almost entirely subsided. My sockets are almost completely closed off/healed over at the 2 week mark.
Follow the doctor's instructions and you'll avoid dry socket.
Also excellent care from the dental assistants/hygienist.

I used to be SERIOUSLY TERRIFIED OF going to the dentist. I had horrible experiences as a child. Gagging, throwing up, accidentally biting the dentist and being yelled at, abscesses. Nothing but drama! Southwest Family Dentistry has taken all of my fears away! No drama. No gagging or throwing up. No yelling. I told them I had serious anxiety and they listened. They understood my fears and they are patient. They truly care about you. They don't want you to be afraid of going to the dentist. The office is beautiful, professional, and everyone if very friendly. I know I'm not the only one who had childhood dentistry issues. If you are like I was, you really need to visit the dentist here. I actually look forward to coming. And I never cancel.
