They DIDN'T call a day in advance to verify the appointment or to notify that the insurance was out of network, therefore a $1000.00 payment was due the day of the appt. I wasn't told till AFTER the work was DONE (Unexpected) Failed to get the insurance information correctly and didn't recommend a cleaning before the fillings. So disappointed.

I had a preauthorization from my insurance for a dental procedure. I paid in advance the full amount of thousands dollars of which the insurance identified would not be covered by my insurance. The procedure went according to plans and there wasn't any incident during the procedure which could possibly unexpectedly increase the cost above the preapproved amount. I later received a bill from emerald coast dentistry in an amount of on dr. $300.00. I was advised this amount was for charges not covered by insurance. Any amount not covered by my insurance should have been identified prior to the procedure. This would have afforded me an opportunity to elect not to have the procedure or to use a cheaper provider or change service received. This should not have happened and its unfair to require me to pay an amount above what I agreed to pay before The surgery, and amount of which ECD can waive.
