Fast and easy. Front desk is very polite and easy to approach. Instruction on what I should and shouldn't eat/do after a deep cleaning would have been helpful.

In short, Dr. Nagel's office unethically recommended invasive and expensive work that I did not need (fillings and root planings) while failing to recommend work that should have been done but would have resulted in the money going to an oral surgeon instead of Dr. Nagel's office (removing impacted wisdom teeth). I presented to Dr. Nagel's office as a new patient, asymptomatic, for a routine cleaning. I became suspicious when they started the visit by telling me I need to come in every three months for cleanings. I have never heard a dentist recommend cleanings more frequent than once every six months, nor have I seen an insurance company that will cover it. The hygenist then conducted a rough, painful gum probing (which had to be repeated because the hygenist lost track of which teeth she was measuring). This is a standard exam I have had done in multiple dentist's offices, and this is the only time it has ever been painful. It felt as though the hygenist was forcing the probe deeper than it would naturally go into the gum pocket. She then announced that I had gingivitis and would need root planing. The dentist reviewed the xrays they took and examined my teeth, further announcing that I had several cavities that needed to be filled. In all, they presented me with a $1400 treatment plan. I sought a second opinion the next week from another dentist and hygenist who viewed the same xrays but conducted their own exam and gum probing (not painful this time) and declared that my teeth were in great condition with no cavities or gingivitis. The only work they recommended was a consult with an oral surgeon to consider removal of my impacted wisdom teeth (something Dr. Nagel's office never mentioned - although his treatment plan did show he was going to place fillings in two of the impacted teeth). Given the disparity of treatment plans between the two dental offices, I sought a third opinion from an oral surgeon. The surgeon confirmed that everything was in good condition, including no cavities, but that my wisdom teeth were impacted and I should consider having them removed to avoid later problems. I would recommend anyone be cautious in trusting Dr. Nagel's office and consider additional opinions before allowing them to do any major work.

I went for cleaning and a filling, the dental assistant wasn’t nice, she was just trying to get the job done. This is the first time I go to a dentist that didn’t ask how the job was done or check the work done by the assistant. I am very disappointed. The assistant hurt me twice in my face with dental tools. Not going back.
