Flint River Dental

We began taking our family to Flint River Dental in 2011. Dr. Darby and her staff are friendly and professional. She has performed tooth extractions for my daughter's braces, and general cleaning and filling replacement on the whole family. Dr. Darby and her staff are competent and courteous. The office staff did a fantastic job in making sure my appointments were scheduled to fit my calendar. Insurance and payment was seamless. We recently changed from another local Dentist and the service is night and day. The office location in the Publix shopping center is very convenient as well! Thank you Dr. Darby and staff!

I'd classify Flint River Dental a world class operation. I had to wait just a few minutes after my scheduled appointment time, but that's to be expected when it's a late afternoon appointment. Everything else was flawless...staff, facilities, etc.

Almost 5 years ago, I was new to the Huntsville area and had no idea where anything was!I stumbled across Flint River Dental while at Public's. They were hanging their sign. GREAT! A new dental office and I needed a family dentist! About a month later, the office was open and I made my first appointment. I wont go into all the details of all that has happened in those "5" years. I will say that seeing that sign go up was the start of the best medical relationship I have ever had. The most incredibly friendly, knowledgeable staff and up to date, caring and giving Dr. Darby have gotten me up to date on my dental care, corrected many issues and given me a smile that I am so proud of. My husband and our two girls love Flint River Dental as well. The girls and I started with Dr. Darby, all having serious "anxiety" over dental visits. That is long gone and we look forward to seeing everyone at the office when we have appointments. We have more then a "business" relationship. We have a team of top notch medical personal that have our best interest at heart. We have regular appointments, with no waiting and no hassles. We have friends that care about our daily lives and who work around the clock in emergencies and who will call and check on us if they hear we are ill or having problems. I have watched Flint River Dental grow from a new business to a thriving part of the community. Their success is due to the excellent service they provide. There is no better dental practice in all of Alabama.

Today I went to the Winchester Road dental office for a teeth cleaning. I have a permanent retainer on my bottom teeth meaning that my teeth are bonded together in addition to my permanent retainer being bonded to my teeth as well. The dental hygienist Megan (that's the name the receptionist gave me) was extremely rude to me, neglected to listen to me and when I told her she was being too rough causing pain she responded " I have been doing this for years and I know what I'm talking about and doing". Additionally, when I told her several times that my teeth are bonded from the root to the top and she can't floss my teeth to the top or she will break my bond and cause spaces in between my teeth she continued to be even more rude and responded " Dr. Yarborough (my former orthodontist) doesn't do this to his other patients so I don't see why he would do it to you". Once Dr. Darby was called to assess my teeth cleaning, I proceeded to inform her of Megan's rudeness. I didn't receive an apology or anything just a head nod and an okay. I have been going to Flint River Dental for years and I have never been treated this way before . Furthermore, while speaking with Dr. Darby I informed her that every patient is different and her dental hygienist's attitude was extremely hurtful. After scheduling my six month appointment, I decided to cancel and find a new dentist. After being treated and talked to in such an ill manner, going back would not be beneficial for me. I believe that it is important to listen to your patients while providing exceptional customer service.

As always, facilities were neat and exceptionally clean. The technician was on time and performed my dental cleaning in a thorough and professional manor. Dr. Amy was cordial and professional with review. The front office staff was extremely friendly and courteous. A truly enjoyable visit.

Dr. Darby is always super friendly and very professional. I would and have recommended many of my friends and family to her office. She has a wonderful and friendly staff also. Dr Darby accommodates appointments when other offices are not available. The staff and Dr. Darby are the best in dental care in the Tennessee valley.

I have been with Flint River Dental since Dr. Darby opened. Actually my wife signed us up before she actually finished getting her Winchester Rd office ready for business. I was so impressed with her that I recommend her to everyone that I meet that needs or is looking for a Dentist. I recommended her to my father and he has been seeing her ever since and is just as pleased with her as my wife and I are. We really like the dental cleaning technicians. The great work and I haven't had any bad experiences with cleaning or polishing. I would add a plus or an additional star if I could give them a higher rating. 5STARS

Every dental hygenist I've had over the last 2 years has been very kind and made sure I was comfortable. They have a great facility and recently expanded to accommodate more patients. Dr. Darby is always a pleasure to talk with and she gives great tips as needed.

I have only been going to Flint River Dental for a short time however I have enjoyed every visit. The whole office staff has an outstanding personality and is always wanting to help out. They explain everything and will explain something as many times as it takes for you to fully understand it. I have had 2 fillings done & had no problems out of either. They are truely amazing people!
