I have been a patient in the office probably for 10 years, finally, I had enough so I switched to a different dentist this year. What a difference! Dr. Hughes office is not there to take care of patients, rather its goal is to make money. Teeth cleaning is a joke as they only spend 15 minutes, they do a superficial cleaning, and then try to find money making problem.

If you want to keep your teeth healthy, you will be better off to find a better dentist. I wish I have done it early, but I'm glad that final I did.

I have been using Dr. Hughes' dental services for approx. 10-12 years. I was surprised to read the many negative reviews on this site. I have been given nothing but extreme professional and courteous service. Dr. Hughes and his staff are very friendly; they greet me by name when I arrive at the office. In regards to wait time in the office, all I have to say is "It's a DOCTOR'S office - - you're going to WAIT!" Please inform me of any Doctor that doesn't have a lobby wait time! With regards to the bad experiences that others have received, perhaps communication between the staff and the customer needs to be presented in a more accurate and understandable manner. I will continue to use Dr. Hughes for the next 10-12 years.

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! I first heard of this practice through my daughters VPK program. Due to earlier availability I decided to make an appointment at this office. My 4yr old daughter was in pain and extremely nervous and this guy didn’t did NOTHING to comfort her. I had a lot of questions about treatment and alternative options and he was literally walking out of the room while talking to me. He obviously wasn’t interested in patient care or rapport.

This guy is a crook! He’ll try to avoid doing a procedure so that it becomes worse in the effort to bill insurance more money. Do not trust him.

Please do not be fooled by the few positive reviews this dentist has received. I was made aware on my attempt to receive a cleaning that I had wait for over an hour for a "consultation" and would have to schedule and come back for another appointment.

During my time waiting I overhead another appointment where the dentist was incredibly rude to a child and parent.

Do not even bother with this place!!!!

I was moving to another state in two weeks when i finally decided to make an appointment with Dr. Hughes' clinic due to [tenderness in the area of the lower right pre-molar. It turned out it was the canine tooth that really needed a root canal. Everything was arranged by Dr. Hughes and his staff with the other clinic that same afternoon, all the necessary teeth preparations were done the following morning, I will be getting the new crowns next week and will be going to the next job with more confidence. So thankful that a potentially painful condition was caught and treated just at the right time. Thank you to the wonderful ladies in the clinic and m
ost especially to Dr. Hughes.. You all rock 🎸

Dr. Hughes is a great thorough Dentist! He is a great listener concerning any issues and works hard to keep his customers happy and healthy. I also know many people using Dr. Hughes and all are thrilled with Dr. Hughes work!

Dr. Bertram Huges and staff are a wonderful team of people to work with. They are professional and kind. My experience with each visit is like going home to people I know who care for my well being. Also, Dr. Hughes is quiet efficient and quick with his tasks. I've been a patient of his for many years and his work never ceases to amaze me.

I was a patient with Dr. Hughes' office for a while when my insurance changed. I became a little confused, thought we had to switch - so I did. After a year of seeing another dentist, having the worst crown job ever and several other issues that made no sense, I truly missed Hughes. I will say some things, like crowns for example are a bit higher in cost with Hughes (even with insurance) - but the job is amazing.....to the point that you can't tell you have crowns at all. His staff are all friendly and my kids were begging to go back. He's quick, to the point and doesn't beat around the bush or try to charge you for unnecessary expenses. I prefer the "tell it like it is" approach that he gives.

Called last week to make an appointment because I am in excruciating pain. The receptionist were nice and told they could get me in at 9am the following Thursday. She sent me a link to fill out paperwork so I could lock in my appointment. I filled out the paperwork gave them call to make sure my appointment was lock in. The following Thursday comes I arrive on time and a receptionist tells me that my appointment is considered emergency and that they will have to FIT ME IN. I was not told that when I initially called. I waited 70mins and left. I will not be returning.

In the summer of 2017 my wife and I visited Dr. Hughes Office for the first time. Since we did not bring our dental xrays from our old Dentist, Dr. Hughes refused to provide service even though we requested an examination and cleaning. He also advised that our insurance didn't pay him enough and that I should cancel our Cigna Dental Policy because of their high cost to me and low payment to him. He requested we (my wife and I) pay cash as it would be cheaper for us. We left his office and I called Cigna. I was advised that Dr. Hughes has been with them for over twenty years and has well over 100 Cigna patients for which he receives a monthly payment whether or not he sees a patient. I explained the situation and the Cigna Representative advise she would contact Dr. Hughes and provide him with a statement on how much money he gets for his services and that he needs to make application to Cigna for payment. Cigna called me back a few days later and advised the situation was taken care of.

In May of 2018 I revisited Dr. Hughes with xrays in hand for a checkup and cleaning. I advised the hygienist that I would be seeing my orthopedic surgeon in three weeks for an examine to determine if a possible revision of my knee replacement would be needed. The medical history paperwork that I originally filed on my first visit to Dr. Hughes indicated that I had a heart stent and would need an antibiotic prescription which can be given prior to treatment, at time of treatment or taken afterwards. Knowing this he refused service (again) because I would need the antibiotic prior to my dental examine, he also required I get a letter from my surgeon giving him, Dr. Hughes, permission to examine my teeth. I am 71 years old and have NEVER experienced anything like this from a Dentist. I confronted him by stating the only reason he was doing this was because of my insurance. He replied "they forced me to take you", meaning Cigna. I got up out of the chair and left his office. I contacted Cigna who immediately apologized for his actions and immediately switched my wife and I to another Dentist. I do not recommend this Dentist.
