Was very disappointed with the service I received. My appointment was at 11am waiting 45 minutes in lobby before call to back once in the room. I ask how much longer because I had to return to work the medical assistant left and come back with Dr.Hughes who was very rude he ask me do I wanted him to put me in front of his other patients that was before me. I explain I been waiting a hour and can no longer wait so I left will not be returning.

I went to get my chipped tooth fixed, by getting a filling. I made an appointment they squeezed me in and my tooth came out pretty well. I didn’t notice until the next day that it did seem a little thin compared to my other tooth, which was OK because obviously i didn’t expect them to be exactly the same. It did end up breaking the next week, and once again i made another appointment to get it fixed. My next appointment i told him i don’t think it was done right, that’s why it chipped, because the only part that broke off was the thinner part, the whole filling didn’t break. He fixed it again, and was seemingly getting more annoyed the longer i was there, and ended up just taking off his gloves and walking out. He didn’t check my biting, didn’t ask me if it felt okay, didn’t give me a mirror to look if it was okay (all of these things he did the first time). He didn’t even tell me that he was done, instead he went to help another person. When i got home i realized the filling was affecting the way i could clench my jaw and chew; i couldn’t even bite down all the way without hitting part of the filling so ONCE AGAIN, i made an appointment THAT SAME DAY, they were able to fit me in THAT SAME DAY. I told him how unprofessional he was to just storm out the room without even checking my teeth, and he simply told me that it was the anatomy of my tooth EVEN THOUGH I KNOW IT ISNT. IF I OBVIOUSLY HAD THAT PROBLEM THE FIRST TIME I GOT IT FIXED, i would’ve done the SAME thing: call and make an appointment to get it fixed; OBVIOUSLY I DIDNT NEED TO BECAUSE IT WAS DONE RIGHT. He kept saying that there was nothing wrong even though i knew something was wrong because the first time he fixed it my clenching of my jaw and biting WAS OKAY. Very unprofessional, and inconsiderate of other people’s feelings. I would give zero stars if possible.

I went to this office on 6/5/2017. THIS IS LONG!! BUT FOR ANYONE WHO HAS READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEW AND WANT A TRUE AND ACCURATE ASSESSMENT OF A REAL LIFE PATIENT... READ IT!

I must and will admit that I was a little leery after reading the reviews and said as much to the staff and the doctor. When I called initially, the young lady was very pleasant. When I went into the office to do some initial paperwork (I was transferring from another office), I found the office welcoming and the front desk staff pleasant, helpful and patient; able to answer all of my questions with ease; and knowledgeable. I said something to them about the reviews I had read and it was apparent that they were familiar. After speaking with them, I decided ... well, I'm just going to keep my appointment and see for myself.

When I went to the office for my visit, which was on 6/5/17, something I noticed that I have never seen in ANY doctor's office... the doctor's credentials were in the waiting room. I like that!!! The staff was just as pleasant as before. I notice a woman there with a child who may be have been 10-13 years of age. When they called his name, the mother simply sat and the young man went back without hesitation (note from another review that a parent couldn't go back and that parent was uneasy with this). I had seen another parent with her child when I went to do paperwork and that child was between 8 and 10. When he came from the back he was 'happy-go-lucky'. So that debunks what the other reviewer said for me.

When I went back to actually visit the doctor, which took about 15 minutes and ONLY because my previous dentist had not sent over my x-rays yet, again, a very nice atmosphere and the assistant was quite pleasant as well. She thoroughly explained all that was going to happen as well as some other things that may happen depending on what the doctor found.

When Dr. Hughes came in, his 'bedside' manner was very appropriate. HE ACTUALLY LOOKED AT MY PAPERWORK IN THE SYSTEM AND ASKED QUESTIONS OF ME BASED ON THE HISTORY I PROVIDED!!! Another MAJOR plus! When he noticed my blood pressure, he asked his assistant about it. I have never had an irregular blood pressure. EVER!!! The one bad mark I would say is that the assistant didn't seem too concerned after I asked her about it ... WELL FIRST LET ME SAY, I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN A DENTAL OFFICE IN WHICH THEY TOOK MY BLOOD PRESSURE --- AWESOME!!! AND SHE EXPLAINED WHY. But she didn't seem too concerned about the bottom number being REALLY low, even after I inquired of it. When Dr. Hughes saw it, he again asked about my history and family history and told me some possible reasons it was that low and suggested I use on the local grocery stores that have free blood pressure check stands or one of the pharmacies and to keep a record. He questioned the assistant about it, and it was only at that point she seemed a bit concerned.

When he actually did my exam, he was careful when he poked that VERY sharp instrument in my mouth!! LOL and when he was done, he told me his recommendations. He showed me a video that helped explain in 'laymens or layWOmen's terms" in my case :-) what he thought I needed to get done. I was a bit bummed because I had a scaling (deep cleaning) last year and he suggested I needed another minor one. I say minor because he can do it all at one time, and the cost was minimal, based on what I had paid before.

The doctor was compassionate, put me at ease with everyday conversation, did not seemed to be rushed, answered all of my questions to my satisfaction, DID NOT PRESSURE ME INTO GETTING ANY WORK DONE!!!!, and was just an overall pleasant person. I enjoyed my visit, actually. And will definitely return.

BTW, for a doctor who is 'god-awful' according to some of these reviews, when I came back to the waiting area to leave, the office was FULL of patients waiting to be seen. I wish I was so bad in ministry that my church was on overflow like that!

Thanks Dr. Hughes! And staff!!!!

Less than a 1. Sub par cleaning, and stole 200 dollars. Lady promised me a comped cleaning due to my insurance, I made sure to clarify multiple times before the appointment started both over the phone and in person. Next thing I know, they clean my teeth and the hygienist says there is an issue and that the bill is actually 200 dollars. I would have walked out on the spot if they told me that first hand. However, they are deceptive and an unprofessional firm. I left saying I refuse to pay, the hygienist took the blame and said she would "bite the bullet" and allowed me to leave, two weeks later I get a phone call demanding 200 dollars. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. Extreme Crooks.

Although they said they take my insurance. They try to sell you a membership plan for the same thing the insurance covers. Then referring me to another dentist office that's out of my network. That also tried to sell me the same membership offer that the Hughes office did.
I was whirled though the appointment, giving me little info on what was going on, unless it delt with the whole membership.

I have brought my kids here two or three times. I have had a great experience. The dental assistant took the time to explain all procedures.

Dr. Hughes is our whole family's dentist. Our 3 yr old loves coming to get her teeth checked! Loved getting a sticker at the end. Staff was very perfessional

Appointment was at 3pm, got called at 405pm, only to be told I couldn't go to back with her. Mind you she's 3 years old, already scared and her first visit. Had the nerve to try and give me a referral. I can make make my own calls. Definitely wouldn't recommend this office!!

I don't understand the negative reviews. Every time I come here everyone is friendly and inviting. I've never had a bad experience coming to this office and I've been coming here for 4 years now... The assistants and hygienists are so personable. Dr. Hughes always takes the time to go over any questions and concerns that I have. I would recommend this place to anyone

I had a exam and a cleaning scheduled and when I got there the lobby was super dirty and the receptionist had no clue what she was doing . When they called me I was taken back to do x Ray's they didn't ask me any questions about my teeth just did the xrays. Then took me to another room and looked at my teeth for 5 minutes did barely anything and told me that I had to reschedule another appointment for my cleaning . The two dentists assistants sat there and talked about drama and gossip the whole time and never told me or asked me any questions about my teeth or if I had any cavities or anything . This place is very ghetto and I dont understand how they are still open
