I felt like I was being blackmailed. Even before the dentist saw me, I was told right away that unless I agreed to their treatment plan, I could no longer be a patient. They said I had to agree to three exams a year.
The dentist finally came in, never looked in my mouth nor did he discuss my X-rays. The only thing he discussed was a deep cleaning of my gums for $1,000. I started to ask a question, but he was GONE.
I was not told the results of the cancer screening. I was not told if I had any cavities. I had to ask at the front desk.
The hygienist refused to clean my teeth unless I agreed to the deep gum cleaning.
I’m 73 years old and have never had a tooth extraction or filling. Every other dentist I’ve ever seen said I have excellent dental health.
By the time I left, my hands were shaking.
You my be right in your diagnosis, but threatening to fire me as a patient is way out of line.
I have been around the medical profession for a very long time. I am not a difficult patient.
