This is an ongoing review- over several weeks time in the fall of 2018.
I had a deep cavity filled on the upper (L) and Nitros (laughing gas). I was very happy to start going here and they seemed happy to have me as a new patient. As it turns out. I'm not happy with the follow through on the part of the DDS. I'm not sure if the DDS just didn't get my messages of complaint from Shari (employee) regarding how I was feeling after my proceedure or what , but weeks later during my post op visit the DDS Horlander was supposed to examine me and wouldn't. She stood at the outer edge of the room and wouldn't sit down next to me and give me the post op exam that I had been waiting so anxiously for. Nor did she address all the pain and anxiety I had been experiencing. To this day I'm waiting for the (Team leader)-office manager Jackie to address the situation and they've done nothing. I'm full of anxiety and I'm so confused as to why the DDS doesn't seem to care at all. Terrible follow through here.The problem still isn't solved. The team leader Jackie and I spoke for the first time today.
She mocked and patronized me from the moment the conversation started. She wouldn't use my name, she called me sweetie several times and spoke to me like I was a problem child. I'm expecting a call back from her today (as to why DDS Horlander wouldn't give me an exam the day I drove there for a post op visit). Dr Horlander called me today upon my request. She explained to me that she new of my messages and post op complaints which were,(#1 heartbeat sound in my ear, #2 my head and ear feeling full, #3 A severe pain and a crack sound on the top (R)side of my head, 4 hours after the deep cavity on the upper (L) side was filled. #4 frequent headaches #5 feeling bad and tired when I exert myself. She expressed that it just didn't warrant her attention and I should go see an ENT Dr. I made the appointment.
December 2018. I went to see an ENT Dr.in Nov. and they couldn't find anything wrong with my ears or heart or blood preasure. This cost over $200. Then I went to see a dentist instructor at U of L school of dentistry. Here they were able to diagnose the problem and put me on a treatment plan that would get me well again, though it will be several weeks before I'll be myself again. The issues are dental issues and (should have) been discovered and handled on the day of my post op while I was under DDS Nilima Horlanders care.
I recently spoke with DDS Horlander to let her know what I found out from the ENT and Uof L Drs. She listened and said she found the information interesting and wished me luck. She didn't offer an apology or reimbursement for the $300 I spent on the 2 extra Drs. In conclusion, no I would not recommend this. This has affected my entire life for 3 months. I've missed out on a lot of things this holiday season. Don't be fooled by how nice and accomidating they are in the beginning. They're not what I would call professional. Also my review has been hidden from your view at least 3 times now. I find it and repost it each time. This action of hiding my review is being done by Jackie the (team leader) most likely.
December 11th 2018 DDS N Horlander is now showing a dixie hwy location. She may have moved to dixie hwy. Though; I saw her when she worked on Hopewell dr.

I do NOT recommend this place. Went here for an emergency to have a wisdom tooth pulled and everything was great so I went back to have other dental work done(filling some cavities) let’s just say ever since my visit at the end of June I’ve been in so much pain. I got the work done before moving from Kentucky and they haven’t filled all of the cavities fully, the dentist themselves didn’t finish the work they had the assistants do it and even switched off to different assistants.. they weren’t very professional and when I walked in the next morning for some of the fillings not being set they gave me a hard time about we don’t do walk ins but I was like no I was just here, had my teeth worked on and the next morning I’m in here with fillings that move and cause pain I need them fixed. Then she said well luckily we had a cancellation this was at 8 am when they opened.... I have never in my life had so much pain from a dentist office before....

I love Mortensen Dental. The ladies did everything they could to help defer the cost of my dental plan. My appt. was on time. Great experience!

Cora was very gentle and extremely knowledgeable about ways to improve good dental habits. Everyone is warm and not robotic like some other places!

I liked my experience at this dentist, they were very careful with my teeth. they were really sweet and I love it. will come again by far my best experience.

I've seen the owners response and I can assure you it was most definitely this office. The first person we talked to was a lady I don't know her name but we talked three to four times after that to a man named Michael I remember because that is also my husband's name! Each time we asked to be sure if they take Pandemic Medicade each time until the last, the day before our appointment, we were told yes they do!! 😡

My husband Michael and I had appointments for tomorrow. We're on the pandemic medicade and have needed dental work for a while we I spent weeks calling around trying to find a place that would take us even the places that would were booked up past October 31st when we lose our insurance. In AUGUST I finally find Mortenson in Valley Station I asked specifically about PANDEMIC medicade and I was told that yes they do take that insurance so I made an appointment for Sept. 22nd so I have waited from August to September for this we both are literally about to lose teeth and each time I talk to the office I ask again to double check "y'all do take pandemic Medicaid right?" Each time I'm told "yes we take pandemic medicaid" now the day before our appointment the man on the phone says "I don't know who told that we dont take the pandemic medicaid but you can still come in" I can't afford it without assistance thats why I'm on assistance! And now I've been lied to so long that I probably can't even get a dentist appointment before we lose our insurance.

This place is probably the best I been too in a long time. They made me feel very comfortable and the people who work here are very sweet and generous. They make you feel at home.

I was super nervous going in. I had to have two teeth extracted. Dr. Heather Walker and her staff made me feel really comfortable. I was given gas because I was so nervous. After she numbed me any time I felt pain she numbed me a little more. I will be going back for sure. This is coming from someone who hates the dentist.

I love this dentist I love the fact that they are lgtbq+ friendly I'm non binary and bisexual and I had a hard time with dentists in the past but with this one I can be at ease great place to go to if you're looking for a way to fix your teeth or just need a checkup I highly recommend this place :)

Dr. Walker is the best dentist around. Hands down!
