ABQ Gentle Dentistry

The first time I saw Dr. Lafferty for my dental issues I was extremely anxious and apprehensive to get any work done because of my previous, negative experiences with dentists. I soon found out just how magnificent Dr. Lafferty and his staff are!! Not only has my dental anxiety decreased significantly, I have been able to get my teeth back into shape with little to no pain. To top it all off, the entire staff are some of the most incredibly wonderful people you will meet. Super kind, knowledgeable and extremely understanding! On a scale of one to ten, I’d rate Dr. Lafferty and his crew a definite 11. I’m very pleased and relieved to have finally found a proper dentist!! Thank you, Dr. Lafferty and team, for being SPECTACULAR!!

They did great job! I had a tooth extraction and filling here and their service attitude and technique are great. Highly recommend everyone to choose here.

Had a lot of major work done and they are the best dental experiences I have ever had. They were so gentle with the numbing shot I barely felt a thing when every other dentist I have ever had caused a lot of pain when giving the numbing shot. The work done has been excellent and I would recommend Dr. Lafferty to anyone, he has been the best dentist I have ever had in the 3 visits so far and the assistance along with everyone else on his staff have been nothing short of excellent.

I had an emergency need that impacted my daily life. Dr. Lafferty met this need with the utmost professionalism and care that you should expect from a dentist. HIGHLY! HIGHLY! Recommend! My wife and I love Dr. Lafferty and his team. So lucky to have connected with such caring professionals who share our common values of family first and service before self. Dr. Lafferty explains his treatment plan and makes me feel as comfortable as possible throughout each procedure. A HUGE thanks to Dr. Lafferty and his staff. I was traumatized from past dental work and thanks to everyone here I am comfortable going back to the dentist. After explaining my fear of the dentist, staff made sure I was comfortable and they explained everything that was going on, everything that needed to be done, how they would fix it, and never made me feel uncomfortable . I was prescribed medication to help calm me at the start of my visits and for my recent appointment I no longer needed it. Staff is great, friendly and very welcoming. To them you aren’t just another patient you are part of a family.

I've been going to ABQ Gentle Dentistry for many years now and I've always had great service. The entire office takes care of me and they actually make going to the dentist a pleasurable experience. I especially love that they take their time with you and don't try to rush you out the door.

Dr. Lafferty and his team are wonderful! They are professional yet very friendly and approachable. Dr. Lafferty listened attentively and answered all my questions so I could make the best choice about my teeth. I could not be happier with my cosmetic work done at ABQ Gentle Dentistry. 10/10!!

I am writing this unsolicited letter of Appreciation and Gratitude on behalf of Dr. Lafferty, DMD - General and Cosmetic Dentistry.

I strongly felt that I needed to express my deepest appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Lafferty and his dedicated staff. The following are a list of specific reasons why in my opinion he and his staff deserve recognition and praise:

1) Comfortable with Close personal interaction.
If you think about it, much of a dentist’s time is spent with his or her face and hands extremely close to patients’ faces. I feel that a successful dentist is comfortable regardless of how uncomfortable it may be for various reason. Dr. Lafferty and his staff never made me feel uncomfortable and/or unwelcomed.

2) Easy to talk to.
My interaction with Dr. Lafferty and has staff were always easy to talk to and demonstrated excellent good communication demeanor. He and his staff always made every effort to try to learn about me as a patient, as well as on a more personal level before beginning, as well as after a treatment procedure. This helped put me at ease, and made me feel like they truly care about me as a whole person, not just about my dental issues.

3) Trustworthy.
I immediately felt comfortable with Dr. Lafferty, which helped build my trust in him and his staff. This is especially true for me, being that I've always had a level of anxiety due to negative experiences with other dentists and their staff. Knowing that having to work with sharp metal objects in the mouth, which is a very sensitive area of the body, for me it is really important that they are trustworthy. to this regard, throughout the various procedures performed by Dr. Lafferty and his staff, they demonstrated their best care not to hurt me, and took all of the necessary precautions to make sure that the experiences I had with them would ensure minimal to no pain.

4) A detail-oriented person.
Being that the mouth is an extremely small space to work in, especially mine, as I have been told by other dentists in the past that I have a small mouth. It has been obvious that Dr. Lafferty has paid attention, and is detail oriented. My past experiences with other dentists at times has taught me that the smallest misalignment of something in the mouth can wreak havoc on a patient’s bite and tooth health. I once had a dentist stab by gum that bleed for several weeks and caused me excruciating pain. When I communicated this to that dentist, their response was to minimize the damage done and did nothing in the attempts to try to remedy the damage done and pain suffered.

5) A leader.
I am well aware that Dentists may own and/or work as practitioners within a practice, so they often are natural leaders, but this is not always the case. In Dr. Lafferty's case, he truly is a natural leader, who has a great deal of experience. I have carefully observed him and his staff, not only as it relates to me as his patient, but also on how he and his staff interact with each other, to include other patients that they have been serve when I was present to observe. This included dental hygienists, technicians and assistants, business office professionals, such as an office manager, receptionist, and other support staff. He has done this while also making high-level business decisions for the practice. This requires having the ability to not only look at the macro side, but also the micro part of the business.

6) Excited about the profession of dentistry.
There is no doubt that Dr. Lafferty is a successful dentist who enjoys the work he does on a daily basis: His positive demeanor and enthusiasm has spilled onto his staff as well. From my close observations and interactions, the respect, patience and kindness that he has demonstrated towards his staff as their employer, trainer, coach and mentor has been quite impressive!

This is a wonderful place to go for dental care! The front desk makes you feel welcome and right at home when you walk through the door. Dr. Lafferty is always on time, extremely friendly and professional. I have always been reluctant when going to the dentist but now going to ABQ Gentle Dentistry and having Dr. Lafferty as my dentist, I feel confident and at ease. Dr. Lafferty stands up to his proclamation of gentle dentistry. He is always very gentle and informative. I feel safe and like I am in good hands. The whole staff is professional, courteous, kind, friendly and makes you feel like family. I would highly recommend to anyone!
