Modern Family Dental Care - Northlake

Dr Rogers did a great work. No pain at all. I would recommend him.
The staff is great also.

This was my first visit to modern and I had an wonderful visit. Meka is just amazing, she's so friendly and a blast to chat with. I never felt like I was at the dentist office. Everyone was so nice and treated you as they have know you your entire life. I had to have a little work done and the dentist was very calming and reassuring. He let you know exactly what was going on at all times. I highly recommend them.

Everyone is exceptionally kind and knowledgeable. I felt more confident in my smile after my first appointment. If you’re in need of a cleaning I highly recommend Jeannie, she’s the best! Dr Rogers extracted my wisdom teeth today and I appreciate that he made sure I was comfortable through the whole process. Glad I found this place, great staff and experience!

I'll start off by saying that I have not had a problem with the Dentist or Hygienists at this location. They have been professional, polite, and provided good service.

I cannot say the same for the office staff. I have had enough of dealing with them and have changed dentists for this reason alone.

1. When I first called to find out if they took my insurance, I was told "yes, we do." I only found out much later that they do accept it, but are out of network, which has cost me money during my time as a patient. This was not disclosed.
2. I needed a crown, and was told that I would have to pay roughly $1300 out of pocket after my insurance portion, up front, before the procedure. Okay, not great, but I paid it. I was then told at my next visit that insurance had actually paid for most of that, and would be receiving a refund as a had a credit on my account. After 2 months of the credit manager being "unavailable" - I was finally told that this was an error, and would not be receiving a refund. This dental practice seems to be incapable of managing their insurance and billing issues.
3. At the same visit I was told I had a credit, I was given a flouride treatment without being asked if I wanted it. Normally, this has an associated cost. After the treatment, I asked if this was now covered, and they said "we did it because you had a credit on your account" - so they gave me a treatment that I did not ask for, in order to recoup some of the credit that was on my account.
4. After all this, I decided to change dentists. I requested that my records be transferred to my new dentist, and was told that there would be a $30 fee to transfer the records. I have had my records released to the Army in the past without this fee, and despite what their policy is, a patient should have the right to their records. I even called the main office and talked to "Nikki" (sp?) who told me that this was their policy, and that they would no waive the fee.

I cannot recommend Modern Family Dental Care. I thought that the problem might be with the Office Staff at the Northlake Location, but the main (Concord) location is just as difficult to deal with, and their billing manager wasn't even available to return my calls for almost 2 months. I would avoid this practice altogether.

I recently lost a filling & found myself in need of a dentist right away. Dr. Rogers & his staff were quick to get me in and thorough in answering all of my questions. As I was given my options, they were all polite, positive, encouraging, and patient with me. It turned out to be a quick and painless experience. So I've found my dentist and will be recommending Dr. Rogers and staff!

Dr. Rogers, Northlake location, nuff said.i hate dentists. I am actually terrified of the dentist and dental pain and usually require sedation for just about everything. Also, its so I dont get aggressive. Annnnyyywhooo, lol, Dr. Rogers changed the game for me. His voice, his demeanor, and the fact that he once basically told me to shut up and chill out (in a very kind, professional, and well mannered tone of course), has permanently eased my anxiety. Been going since 2016, when I bought a house 3 miles from the location. In 2020, I moved about 1.5 HOURS away. I still happily drive the distance, for him. If he leaves, im gone too lol. Thank you Dr. Rogers. And I know, if he reads this, he will know exactly who I am based on this review alone. 😆

The most nice and beautiful people it’s always a pleasure they take care of my needs

Was dissappointed with my overall experience. The hygenist, Jeannie was great. Very friendly and thorough but it went downhill from there. I went to this doctor because of his great reviews but didn't feel a warm welcome at all. Maybe he had an off day but as someone that is afraid of the dentist, I didn't get a trusting or concerned feeling from this doctor. When I went to pay the bill, it was more than they quoted me when I walked in. I felt like they were pushing me to commit and buy one of their discount programs. Felt like a sales pitch. My search for a new dentist continues.
