I had a great experience with Dr. Matthews. She knows her stuff! Don't understand the negative reviews. I found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. Front desk answered the phones when I called a few times thereafter. Needed medication for a bad tooth and they called it right in. I had to see a specialist after my visit and the referred me to another great doctor. Had to chat at a later date with Dr. Matthews, regarding second opinion , she called me right back. Since I am new here and have only physically been in the office once, I gave it 4 stars.

As an uninsured patient, I've never had any issues derived from the office or its staff.

Scheduling can be tight. Dental office in the region appear to route dental emergencies here. Scheduling can be an issue but last minute openings pop up with how many folks they treat here.

Corporate offers a psuedo-insurance program - an annual free grants discounts (varied) on most (if not all) procedures for uninsured patients.

Not very friendly, not very gentle.
Call and press 1 for new patient and you will sit on the line for 30 minutes on hold before the system hangs up on you.
Press 2 for existing patient and hello how can I help you.
They look at broken took with exposed nerves and say its in my sinuses gonna be causing me sinus problems need tooth taken out asap. Lady up front says 4 months is the soonest appointment.
Highly do not recommend this dentist
Finally got tooth pulled and now I have a weird huge growth growing from my gums and guess who has been to busy to answere there phone for over an hour now and they close in 5 minutes.. gotta love a dentist that doesn't care about their patients after they receive payment

I made a new patient appointment with them back in May, and I couldn't get a spot until July. I received two confirmation text saying that i was set for my appointment. Show up to my appointment, and they said they had no record of my appointment. Not only did I have to leave my job early, but they decided that today was the best day to tell me, instead of back in May when I made the appointment, that i should have received a call and that the text confirmation where useless. As much as they tired to reschedule me for another appointment soon after this one, which was the only reason they got 2 stars, I'd rather not go to a dentist that can't figure out their own scheduling system.

The dentists are awsome but i just have a problem with one of their new policies.They were great the first time I visited but then for a follow up appointment that I had to schedule 3 months out, I showed up to the appointment on time only to find out that they canceled the appointment just because I didn't have enough time in my day to answer a call from them. I am extremely disappointed, not everyone has the time to call them and say "I'm coming in for my appointment". They didn't even let me know (3 months ago) that I had to make a confirmation call in order to keep my appointment.

I am not a person who likes to change an honest review, so I will leave another update for 11/2019

I am so happy to say, they have changed some staff!!! May I add for the better!!!

Love love love the check in now. Friendly, fast and can answer questions 😁

There is a new hygienist named Shane and I am so his new fan!!
I had never met a male hygienist before and I adore him. He is full of knowledge and he is very efficient.
Now I hope they pay him well and he stays put!!!!!

My husband also agree’s he is a great hygienist and we both rescheduled with Shane.

4/2019 I was at 3.5 stars

When Doctor Halli McNaughton came back I was THRILLED!!! She is one of the best dentist I have ever met.
She is reasonable, honest and her work is faster then most. I do not feel pain when I am in her chair and if we could hand out stars for individual reviews I would give Doctor Halli 5 stars!

I will say in the past few months some of the front desk workers are better and seem to know what they are doing.

The Regional manager is awesome and I truly feel bad I have forgotten her name.

In 2018 I was at 1.5 stars
My review no longer applies at all, so I have deleted my post but left my stars here.

Great dental work is what I hoped for and I received a lot more than that. Brandi and Edith at the front desk are kind, flexible and extremely helpful. Thank you ladies for all the work you do, I imagine it is more difficult than people give you credit for. Janice and Dr. Montgomery were incredibly patient, knowledgable and skilled. I am extremely appreciative of the work you all do. Thank you and I will definitely be getting my dental work here in the future.

Just had the most thorough cleaning in decades with Alicia. Dr Montgomery explained all procedures completely. Staff was very helpful and patient when I asked questions regarding my insurance.

My husband and I have been patients of Gentle Dental for 5 years, moving from their old office to their new office on Robal Road. Last October I needed a crown. Two temporary crowns, made by assistants there, broke. Dr. Hallie McNaughton finally stepped in and made one that lasted until my permanent arrived. We are now snowbirds, and our dentist in Arizona is Gentle Dental. I have had a time getting x-rays and records sent to AZ. At first Patricia was kind and helpful. There were problems and I needed a root canal and crown. I’m supposed to have my teeth cleaned every 3 months. I have tried - for 3 weeks - to change my Bend appointment. Their office is always closed. I called again. Closed. I finally used my husband’s phone. Closed - at 3:00 PM on a Tuesday. I used another phone that did not allow anyone to see the caller’s name. Surprise! A receptionist answered! I hung up. We will no longer be patients of Gentle Dental.

The Dentists and Hygenists are indeed gentle and professional however on many occasions my family and I have been rescheduled multiple times for a single visit! On two occasions I was actually driving to my appointment and was called to be rescheduled. My wife has also dealt with various cancellation problems involving our children the latest ones were confirmed the day before the appointment and then mysteriously changed when she arrived at the scheduled time! The poor scheduling is only rivaled by that of a cable or broadband company that will give you a wide window of opportunity and then leave you feeling extremely disappointed. At this point my family and I will be looking for another Dental office to give our business to. The scheduler has caused this office to lose our business indefinitely.
