My mouth is in very poor condition and I've visited several dentists in the area. This was the first place that worked with me on payment options so I could actually fix my teeth. The staff was overall very nice and I would recommend this place to anybody. As some reviews point out its true they cost slightly more than other places (for me it was about 200 more but that's a very small amount for the overall cost) I'm happy to pay a little extra for a place that makes me feel comfortable while having a lot of work done as well as let's me pay over time instead of demanding everything up front like most other offices.

Dr. Judge is awesome! She was honest with me about her concerns for a couple of my teeth and heard me out about my concerns with financing. I have an HMO insurance plan so my prices for work are fixed and they were able to get me set up with a payment plan that worked with my budget.

I have been to dentists before that take forever and multiple sticks to get me numb (even when I tell them I am hard to numb). Dr. Judge had me completely numb with 1 shot!!!

We're done with SMD. My wife went in for specific tooth pain and they took x-rays and said everything looked fine and she just needed a cleaning. Next thing you know they're trying to sell her on thousands of dollars of cosmetic dentistry and they never even addressed the tooth pain. She is home now and still in pain. Is there some state agency we can report them to for these practices?

I have been coming here for several years and have found the dentist and the staff to be very friendly and nice until today.
I have a 1:30 appointment, but arrived at 1:15. I was wearing a mask. They had removed all but 3 chairs from the waiting area and the three that were left were 6 to 10 feet apart. I was the only person there besides the receptionist who told me everyone else was at lunch, no other cars in the parking lot. But I was made to wait in my hot car, not allowed to sit in the socially distanced waiting room for 15 minutes.
That makes no sense! I hate going to the dentist anyway, and this really has peaked my anxiety along with anger. There is no excuse for this rudeness. There was zero chance for me spreading anything since I do not have the disease, I'm wearing a mask, there was no one else in the waiting area.
Edit to say that Dr. Judge, the dentist called me personally to discuss this review. She explained that on the day I was there, the orthodontist was in and they had about 3 times more patients than a normal day. There is a separate waiting room on the children's side so no additional traffic in the waiting room I would have used, but the receptionist works both sides, so she wouldn't have time to sanitize the waiting room had I waited in there for 15 minutes. The staff was following her directions. I appreciated her call and understand the reasoning behind her instructions for that day. She is a very nice person and took the time to follow-up with me, which I did not expect. This whole COVID thing has been a hassle for businesses and that's what was behind the incident. I rescind my negative review.

I recently had my teeth cleaned and whitened at Smyrna Modern Dentistry, my experience was great! Everyone was very pleasant from the receptionist to the assistants and especially my hygienist, Tara. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I went to Smyrna Modern Dentistry after moving to Nashville. I went to the same dentist back home for my entire life so was a little nervous to try a new dentist. I was welcomed by Chastin at the reception desk and had an amazing conversation and then had by teeth cleaned by their hygienist, Tara who was extremely knowledgeable about what she was doing and was able to explain things to me as she was working on my teeth. Finally, I met Dr. Judge who was amazing! I would definitely recommend!

I moved to Nashville a few years back and like any new city you find yourself looking for routine things like, your hometown teams sports bar, an honest mechanic, good sushi, etc.....When it comes to the dental side, the same story applies. In turn, I asked a friend from the area for a recommendation and she offered up this location. After 1 visit, I had certainly found my Dental Office of the future... I travel 4 days a week, so the little things made a difference, like the easy new patient online form and a calendar invite reminder via email. When I arrived to the office I was greeted with a smile by the front desk staff and even received a tour around the facility with Dr. B. After my exam and brief convo with Dr. B about past treatment I went in with my hygienists, Tara for a teeth cleaning. She was extremely professional, kind, thorough and not to mention, easy on the eyes. Best part, she had me in and out of the chair swiftly, with what I'd consider to be the best cleaning ever. In all, I had a great experience and to this day continue to go in every 3 months for routine cleanings to keep these teeth lookin good!

Every negative review about this place is absolutely true! Avoid this place as they are a scam and Dr. Judge is very rude and tries to talk over you. She told me I had periodontal disease without ever doing an exam! I refused to let her touch my teeth because I caught on to what she was doing to scam me out of money for a simple cleaning. She got mad because I stood up to her and told me to "leave her practice" and was gonna call the cops even though I never threatened her in any way. I didn't leave until I got a zero balance bill in hand because it'll be fraud if she tries to bill my insurance for services not performed. I work for a huge insurance company. The 3 star review ratings out of 5 should have told me something. If reviews aren't 4 stars or above, then that means the place sucks. $373.00 and up is what they charge just for preventative Xrays. They also have a turnover with dentists as Dr. Judge came from California and bought into the practice so she could come to TN to scam everyone that goes there! She is very unprofessional in her demeanor esp with a doctor's degree in dentistry. So LOOK OUT when you go to a dentist office and they won't clean your teeth until AFTER the exam. That's so they can tell you how bad your teeth are and scare you into a super expensive treatment plan. Go to Unique Dental in Smyrna and see Dr. Franklin as he has 10+ years exp and they have a 4.7 star Google review rating! Staff has awesome customer service skills, no long waits, and Dr. Franklin is honest and they will clean your teeth before the exam without scaring you into an expensive dental treatment plan.
